If they want to stop the run, they should use their RD1 on a DT like Wilkins, Lawrence, Simmons, etc. They've lost, what, 3 or 4 dlineman, and gained one servicable contributor in Pennel. It took them 16 weeks to figure out how to stop the run, they need to force risky passes. Sam and Bentley have to show speed if they want to stop receiving backs. Shame Nasir Adderly didn't stay under the radar, hopefully Melifonwu works out.

Guy and Pennel are two of the better run stopping DTs around.
They don't offer much in the way of a pass rush though.
Butler is serviceable in that regard.

Eli has consistently had some of the worst rosters in the NFL.

The 2015 team should have been 4-12 but Coughlin coached that team into position to win 11 games. But of course he got blamed for everything and not Jerry fucking Reese who proceeded to draft ELI FUCKING APPLE the very next year.

The Bills had one of the best defenses in the league last year and the offense improved significantly when they cut Kelvin Benjamin.

Eli also looked a lot like his old self in the second half of the season once his line improved but the Giants habitually blew leads down the stretch because they had guys on defense who were either overpaid and underproducing (Vernon, Jenkins), suck, or had openly quit on the team (Curtis Riley).

And by the way, Rosen isn't mobile either. He took even more sacks than Eli last year and looked like shit in most games even if he didn't have the talent around him to succeed.

The trouble is that outside of Odell (Who was a Me First guy who turned the fans/media/locker room against Eli for personal gain) he's had guys like Reuben Randle (Who must have caused INTs by quitting on routes), Preston Parker (One of the worst drop artists I've ever seen), and Larry Donnell (Always fell down when he caught the ball and usually caused INTs because when he came on the field everyone knew he was getting the ball) to throw to. And don't even get me started on Brandon Marshall, who was the guy Reese signed instead of Andrew Whitworth who he thought was "too old" even though Marshall was clearly washed up on the Jets in '16.

The Giants went through a time from 2013 - 2016 where they didn't have a legit tight end, and they probably still don't since Evan Engram's a glorified slot receiver and Rhett Ellison is mostly used as a blocker.
