that's because you add to much possession, it's like a forest of defenders in the penalty box and it reduces the open goal angles so even if the shots are on target it's easier for goalkeepers, ddin't watched the game but with a player like morata I guess you should always try to cross him so he can score headers

tiki taka has low shot/goals conversion no matter who the forwards are. I think defenses simply got better over time. true that iniesta or xavi had the vision for killer passes that would unsettle pakced defenses tho'. anyway the problem with spaniards is that they're not athletic enough and during a world cup or euro they get tired and their techinical skills suffer from it and they became less effective and they choke.
