Micheal Jordan gave up 2 and possibly a total of 4 rings because he 'retired' after his old mans death.

Imagine if his dad was alive, does he quit and switch sports? He was 29 then.

He only did that because his dad's favorite sport was baseball, and Jordan wanted to honor that.

If he doesn't retire, he easily wins the next two rings (sorry Hakeem), we already know what happens between the Bulls and the Sonics/Jazz.

What if they kept the band together for ONE more year, they play San Antonio in the finals.

Let's just say they win that. The following year the Western conference finalist was the Lakers.

Shaq (who beat Jordan in his comeback year) + Kobe the fake Jordan, while MJ goes for 10 in a row?

Wasn't this the best timeline?

Still not the goat

wasn’t the retirement a cover-up for his punishment for gambling and game-fixing?

so was his dad's death. man was killed over some of his son's gambling debts.

this theory is stupid, and so if your big dumb face . probably got a small dick too. you small dick fag

Friendly reminder that Bill Russel has 11 Championships, and there are 2 dozen players with more Championships than Jordan

If he didnt create a shoeline/star in Space Jam nobody would know or care about Jordan

Jordan is known for a gambling addiction, a secret drug/party habit and a general low character away from the public eye. Everyone knows about the trash talking the court, but he’s said to be a piece of shit when away from the public eye.

No dummy, David Stern made him retire because of his massive gambling habits and trouble with the mob. Which is why his dad was killed, btw.

yeah he was a real piece of crap. but, that makes for a very compelling character. I recommend this book to any fan of hoops, or michael. easily the best basketball book I've read

this. him being a total piece of shit only added to the legend, especially when he wasn't just talk but proved things on the court too

He retired early in order to avoid being exposed.

>easily the best basketball book
That's not saying much if anything at all.

shut up idiot don't pretend like you read anything anyway

If he plays those years instead of taking them off to rest and recuperate, he has way more mileage on his legs. He probably loses a Finals or doesn't make one. Being able to take that time off to recuperate was great for his legacy.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the goat. Highly skilled player, invented his own unstoppable shots. A patrician, well read, an erudite, a scholar, and the greatest scorer of all time with just as many championships earned as Jorcuck on different teams with different coaching styles.

Jordan was a system babby. Phil was the true mind behind the Bulls' dominance. Jordan was a cotton mouthed thug.

Jordan’s not a big spotlight guy because he sacrificed his life into the public eye for 10+ seasons. Notice there’s rarely any dirt of him lashing out on hecklers and journalists like some athletes did and still do. Who would want to be under constant heat from the whole world judging everything you do? The guy does massive amounts of good behind the scenes.

He is famously a sociopathic piece of shit

You’re a retard who just goes off the “HE PUNCHED KERR” and “JORDAN FUNDS PRISONS” talking points.

In addition, probably one the most dominant college players in modern day basketball.

Also, one of a hand full of hall of famers who won championships with more than one team

>le smarmy carried by superstars role player
>le smarmy only wins with stacked teams as a coach
Who wouldn't want to punch Kerr tbqh

Shut the fuck up about GOAT. The game changes and evolves. The context of players stats and milestones is never the same. The quality of their playing, and the assemblage of skills, and the compellingness of their story or character, form incomparable qualities.

Greatness has its time and its place, just let it be.

Also, Wilt was the GOAT

he was notoriously bad with journo's ask skip

Michael Jordan is a psychopathic bum. He dominated during a notoriously weak period of the NBA (post-Bird and Magic, before Kobe). His nemesis was Clyde Drexler. He faced teams full of absolute nobodies with the sole exception of the Utah Jazz (Stockton definitely got the better of him). He had to rely on an incredible supporting cast throughout his career which included Rodman, Pip, Kukoc, Grant and Kerr. He was given the benefit of the doubt on every single play he was involved in. Referees were explicitly told not to call fouls on Jordan. That is a fact. And it makes sense considering he was the face of the NBA and the most massively-marketed athlete of all time.

And I guess that's the reason we have to deal with all of these Jordan shills. Because of Space Jam and Hane's commercials and all of the other "Be like Mike" nonsense. Couple that with all of the racist hatred that Lebron gets for his social activism and it's no wonder we get all these stupid threads. Lebron James literally built a school for poor black children while Michael Jordan was building private prisons used to cage adult black men. Get fucking real even trying to compare these two people. There's a reason that Lebron is considered the GOAT on and off the court. He carried teams, often with little to no support. And he did it against elite opposition. Something that Jordan wouldn't be all that familiar with. I don't give an athlete points for going off to play baseball when things get tough.

It's also worth noting that Lebron is the greatest high school player of all time while Jordan was irrelevant in high school. If Lebron had played college ball then he would have surpassed Pete Maravich as the greatest college player of all time. But we'll never have that confirmation because he was so good he went straight to the NBA.

This might actually be the worst fucking post I've ever seen on /sp and that's really saying something.

There might not be a single factual statement in this entire post and the saddest part is some gullible zoomer will still eat it up hook line and sinker. Fuck this generation

>Referees were explicitly told not to call fouls on Jordan. That is a fact.

THIS. Everyone knows the NBA is fixed.

Hey now, even Jordan has gone to say he's glad to not have faced Hakeem and the Rockets in the finals, one of the biggest what ifs in the 90's. Don't tell me that Jordan and the Bulls would have beaten the Rockets in 95, love the Bulls but no one was beating the Rockets that year.

I agree.

Imagine watching apehoop

mileage is a myth

Bulls managment blew the team up after the last 3peat. Their general manager is on record saying he wanted to prove he could win a title without Jordan and Phil Jackson.

Literally no proof of this, none at all. And a man making 80 million a year in endorsements alone I'm pretty sure could pay off any gambling debts

Jordan had a career average of 4 fouls per game. Lebron has one of less than 2 fouls per game... just sayian.

Jordan is one of the most arrogant people alive. He probably told them to wait

His gambling was out of control. He was gambling on basketball too. Stern and Nike didn't want a scandal - and one like this would have killed their cash cow. So, it was decided that he would leave for a while, so men in little hats could get all the ducks back in a row - make sure nothing was going to come out Jordan betting on NBA, etc.

He couldn't just leave for no reason though. Would look just a little odd(!). So, the baseball thing was a perfect strategy.

I have no proof. Just my best guess based on behavior patterns of Niggers, Jews, the media, big business, and sports reporting.

>thinks books like "atlas shrugged" or 1984 are the pennicle of literature.
Ah, there he is
That motherfucker
What a tool.
