>FM2017 >third season with Celtic FC >two leagues loaded (Scots Prem and Champ) >won treble first season >won treble last season >barely any players loaded to buy so am recruiting a ton of loan players from the top leagues and also buying a ton of youth talent from all over Europe >have to beat Slavia Prague to get into the CL group stage >have £10 million transfer kitty left >bringing young players through into first team and their value is increasing >hopefully the board will let me find an affiliate club where I can send players to get EU citizenship (have turned me down for three years) >plan to save as much money as possible and max out the training and youth facilities and stadium
Nicholas Fisher
nice blog im jk, sounds comfy, user :) hope you can make scotland good again desu
Parker Evans
Can you make a 1 star league into a 5 star league if you put enough time into it?
Dominic Hill
yes; lots of time I'm making the CPL the #1 NA league rn (not even 5 stars) and it is going to take some time
Mason Nelson
>Cardiff unironically claiming Sala deal wasn't completed so they don't owe Nantes a penny Top shithousery
yeah, extended NA database. Managing the team down the road here in Edmonton. Might develop the league to be #1 (will develop it to be at least top 3) but since my hometown is getting an MLS team (has one in save) might jump ship there and try to get legend status, then head to Europe once i'm bored.
Leo Collins
vamos el tree lmao
Sebastian Howard
>two leagues loaded Playing on a toaster?
Sebastian Walker
an actual fucking toaster could load more than that
Joseph Hernandez
>>plan to save as much money as possible and max out the training and youth facilities and stadium I hope you like spending 40 years doing individual increments.
Nathan Thomas
you ever find a gem in your U18 squad while managing in a database that modifies the US into a 6 tier league system?
Samuel Hill
Does it merge >our teams too?
Jayden Cruz
it kills off the MLS and all the other teams in America/Canada. the only Canadians teams in it are Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Ottawa and Thunder Bay
Caleb Lewis
oh yeah, should also mention this APL database also moves the top managers to every single club in the APL system. so a "meh" manager in Bilic started out with the San Diego Surf in the American Championship League. moved to Orange County in the American National Leauge. North Carolina in US Division 1 and then hung around lower mid table in the American Premier League with Tampa Bay and Indy Eleven before becoming a title contender with Portland
Hunter Howard

>tfw preseason is torture in the national league >just hours upon hours of hoping my 3 scouts can find me a charitable championship/one league team willing to send me a decent loan player that doesn't think they're too good for me
welp, had my influential LB get a straight red now everything is fucked
Jace Torres
i fucking won somehow
Ethan Williams
How much would a computer that could run a full database (700,000 players) cost?
Sebastian Hill
how many leagues are you running
Ayden Garcia
can you run a full database without every league? If so, only one at a time. But I would like to do a journeyman save with every league loaded
Thomas Walker
i got 4 wins in a row. which is a new PB
Evan Edwards
What actually happens if you only load one or two leagues? Will it generate more good regens to compensate or does that not even make any sense? I think it's the latter.
Carter Ortiz
i believe the well known leagues will have top flight players loaded in. i used to be able to run top 5 leagues up to the second division as 5 star performance but lately it's gone to shit. the lower leagues of non watched countries will have greyed out player names because i guess they're auto generated. best guess for journeyman save is to pick lower ranking countries and when you win a few trophies domestically add in higher ranked nation leagues. And there is also a database out there that includes every single league to the second division
Andrew Gonzalez
All I know is that the players that are in a team when the team isn't loaded, them greyed out players, are over powered
Dominic Sanders
I can't do that bcuz immersion. The game just creates new players when you load a league and they have no history prior to loading that league. I am not OCD but I like to feel 100% immersed when playing football manager and I don't think I can do that without every league loaded
Carson Ross
i think regens appear in the league the original retired in or home nation of that player
oh and i should mention im running Finnish First Division up Irish First Division up Bluefin Sport Premier Intermediate League National League USA Division 3 up
Oliver Martin
give me an example
Benjamin Morales
If I'm playing in the premier league and China isn't loaded you won't get Chinese clubs bidding on players If france isn't loaded the French u19 team is made up of French players in English clubs (even down to players in league one teams) No players in Ireland exist unless they have high reputation like gavin bazunu
Basically I want to play the game with every league loaded so that the game is 100% as realistic as possible and every player is there should I want to sign them
Easton Martinez
the bidding on players is because they aren't on the transfer list i got no clue to why the game is reacting to you that way. i don't have the French Leagues loaded and 20/21 players here are from French Clubs and i think it's like that for Ireland because no clubs are a European contender because I checked Croatia and Dynamo has their roster fully loaded and then checked the next team which is Gorica and the player names are all greyed out
>opposing team has player sent off in the 96th minute >media: your team defeats ten-man opposing team
Xavier Martin
You probably have a better computer than me which loads unplayable leagues in better detail. When you are about to start a new game there's a box that says details where you can choose which players are loaded. As in, from any nation or any league or any region or certain competitions. So even though I have a large database with a couple of leagues loaded, everything else is completely empty. I went to scout an African u20 competition and most teams had about 3 players in the squad. This is why I want to run a full database, feels more real. It doesn't matter to me whether the players I'm scouting are absolute dog shit or world beaters, I would just rather have them there than not
Jack Taylor
You need the Workshop for most of these, so unless you bought it or a kind tribbler is willing to DL them and re-up them somewhere else, you're out of luck.
Owen Allen
You can add more players when starting a save with database size. However, even if you don't load the leagues, adding more players will slow down your PC to a crawl; that's why SI recommends a 125K limit on the number of players. Also, remember that the number of players keeps increasing over time, so it will get worse.
Jacob Roberts
i see what you mean by 3 players for a African country. I just looked at Madagascar my best guess is to try and set up a scouting system in said country/region you want to look in. im not fully sure how to do it or if you can. i think you gotta select a package or it's in assignments and i think world knowledge will help in that too
Jayden Bennett
Generally you start scouting shit regions when you have expendable scouting slots. Which means when you've doubled (if not tripled) assignments in big regions and bought all the packages (otherwise you won't find jack shit).
Joseph Clark
Why do I lose interest every time I get a team promoted to the Premier League? 10 games in at most before I quit.
Aiden Sullivan
sounds like the team don't care bout you anymore or the board hate you
Joshua Brooks
This is why I hate scouts. They take so long to find anybody and then 90% of the time they go 'fuck off'. Even if you had a scout program 90% of the time they go 'fuck off'.
Hunter Collins
I feel like I've played 17 to the point where I want a new version now, but dunno whether its worth paying more to get 19 over 18. Beyond the obvious new features which I can google, how are the match engines of each of them compared to 17? Is there anything meme-meta like strikerless -present in either version?
Gavin Phillips
i have shed the demons of West Virginia now and clawed my meh team into top 3 now 11 points off the title and 4 points off auto promotion
Aaron Perez
>Beyond the obvious new features which I can google Nah, you have to experience the new scouting and training system to really understand what happened. The interface for FM18 is heinous; play the demo for FM19 and see for yourself.
i fucking hate Arizona so much. bullshit loss the first time i faced them this season. bullshit draw the second time. im 4 points off the auto promotion
>oh it looks like I can expand the stadium >board accepts it >20 million for a 3.5k seats STOP STOP IT WAS JUST A PRANK PLEASE STOP
Easton Brown
tfw the other clubs in your country fuck up so bad in Europe that you go from 3 years of direct qualification to the group stage to having to do the 2nd qual round
Eli Baker
>tfw 10 games unbeaten >tfw slip to Portland Phoenix (Maine) >tfw slip to Arizona basically at the mercy of the football gods
Leo Walker
holy fuck. late season with The Force is shitting itself. 3 easy wins turns into 3 draws. JUST DREW 1-1 TO THE LAST PLACE TEAM

>FM2017 >third season with Celtic FC >won the first game of the season 3-1 against Partick Thistle >knocked out of the Betfred Cup in the second round by Hamilton at home - Scott Brown early red card >hopefully will get through to the CL group stage by beating Sparta Prague >Liverpool are trying to buy my 17-year-old Croatian central midfielder who I bought for £1.9 million and played in the first-team last season, now worth around £2.4 million >told him he's not leaving and he accepted my position >board finally agreed to find a new affiliate club, but refused to find one I can use to secure work permits >have around 6 players from South America and Africa I need work permits for, but can't do anything but wait for them to get selected for the main national team and potentially earn a work permit after a few caps >hopefully will be bringing in an Angolan defensive midfielder, 17-year-old with 8 caps already - awaiting work permit >lost Moussa Dembele for £6.8 million (with various clauses rising it to around £18 million) >no stand-out striker and worrying a bit - Cummings is fast but poor at finishing; Isak is a wonderkid on loan but is only 18; Cerci scored a lot for Atletico Madrid but is older and prefers to play on the right; Quitongo is fast but is a Defensive Forward and I can't figure out how to get him to score (scored 18 while on loan at Hearts last season) >have some great youth prospects coming through, including an 18-year-old Norwegian striker (on loan to Kilmarnock last season, again on loan this season), Kone (17-year-old French central defender for £350k), two Croatian 16-year-old centre backs, various youngsters from Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Belarus, Sweden etc.
A laptop.
Thanks mate.
Managed to get up to £15million after two seasons, including bringing players in
Joseph Rodriguez
Every team should have a player with the same name as the club
>bottle getting into playoffs on the last match Why are we like this. 5 seasons and all we can do is 7th. At least my goalie got the league record clean sheets
Bentley Hall
>We're struggling to cope with the numbers in the midfield!
>8 games left in the season >7 points off league title >5 points off auto promotion >1 point behind 3rd place >7 points above 7th >way higher than league predicted 11th place
It's either time to make it or break it. Major matches include Oakwood (3rd), Fresno (1st) and Springfield (2nd) in the last 8 matches
Oakwood is defeated. and i got the second most goals for in the league only behind West Virginia
Jace Roberts
>use most of my subs in this match >based brazilian wonderkid scores a typical Ronaldo hattrick, one with a beautiful cut inside from the wing to curl the ball in the top left corner >still winnin'
Reminder that now article 13 has passed any EU player posting screenshots featuring the faces or logos of players/clubs that are not included in the base game will be breaking copyright law. Please delete your facepacks and logopacks immediately.
Also protip, in Article 13 even screenshots are considered a part of the copyrighted material. So because FM is copyrighted, and because nobody who plays FM can resist sharing their latest regen saviour, prison is going to contain every single FM player in Europe.
it's De Anza leaf here i managed to auto-promote into USAD2 and Springfield won USAD3. every player is happy except my starting LB and was runner up for the manager award. i'm so happy i brought a team of players who didn't give a single fuck together and beat the league predicted 11th place spot by 9 spots. and it's time to pray Nashville don't poach any more players
Lincoln Robinson
i went on holiday for 94 years. dortmund won the league 20 years in a row.
Carson White
You get to sperg out even more for scouting and training, with the sense that you don't actually don't know what's going on.
it's great, get the game
Bentley Stewart
If you guys drank a third of a ltr of whiskey, started a match but only put 2cb's an 2 strikers as your subs then your best player got sent off and went 2 nil down in the first half would you save scum?
>Delete your logopacks >After my ultra-autistic crusade to find missing logos Fuck that, I was going to end up in jail for street racing and pirating at one point or another anyways

>FM2017 Celtic FC update >third season in charge >two treble trebles in the first two seasons >won first two Scottish Premier League matches >knocked out of the Betfred Cup already by Hamilton at home >didn't manage to get a work permit for an Anholdan 18-year-old DM despite him having earned 8 caps already >new affiliate clubs to be suggested soon >champions league qualifier against Sparta Prague tomorrow at home >£11 million left in the transfer kitty >Enes Ünal currently my first-choice striker on loan from Man City >didn't score many last season but enough to bring him back and make him first choice >other strikers aren't doing great so a bit worried >training facilities to be updated for a fee of £3 million
>start fiorentina save >win italian cup >sell simeone for 45M >now chelsea bid 137M for chiesa I know I should accept the bid because it's so much cash but I don't know who could replace him without spending too much
Leo Myers
What formation do i use to utilize a right winger with max pace and great technique
David Walker
Scout south america, you'll likely find good replacements for around 20m each
Leo Powell
4-4-2 Diamond.
Jace Campbell
You can't replace him 1 for 1 but that's the limited way to look at it. Im guessing that you can find 2 players who will fit your system for 40m combined and now you have a replacement and depth. Maybe you can't tear into defenses with one man anymoee but maybe you can find a defender with absurd pace and acceleration who will let you play a more agressive defensive line. And suddenly you aren't so reliant on dribbling to penetrate into that final third. You have a classic money ball problem, get creative with the solution.
Daniel Jones
Boring
Brayden Roberts
>win 2-0 against Monaco in the CL group stage >two of my main strikers get injuried, one out for 2-3 weeks, other for 5 Fuck, now I have to give a chance to the deeper subs
I buy up every Ivory Coast-based youngster I can every year, despite not being able to play them due to work permits. I leave them in reserves and watch as their stats slowly improve. As long as nobody else can buy them it's cheap to keep them all. I also do this for Nigeria and Ghana.
Levi Evans
i am trying to sign Dele Alli on a free from LAFC and offered him a trial. he's 32 and won 4 APL titles with them. meanwhile i'm a 5th tier side
For whatever reason, this tactic can't score to save its fucking life Especially the fucking lone striker Doesn't matter who I play up there, fuckers always put up terrible ratings Constructive criticism appreciated /trb/ros
Thanks to us getting the league's rep up, now even the relegated teams get close to a million in prize money. This is how they waste it: bidding 200k on my shitty reserves from my academy
also I think that over the last season we hit a certain threshold in reputation...players have started whining about new contracts for the first time in the save instead of whining about bigger clubs and bigger euro nationalities now want to come play here
I think you just hand over the keys to the country to him at that point.
Jeremiah Williams
Are there any actually good USA Pro/Rel mods? Most of them are haphazard and I know fuck all about this clumsy editor.
Kevin Flores
Not really, going to have to wait until 2030, when soccer gets developed in the states enough. Hopefully it can mirror the national league and national league north/south model over in England.
Dylan Johnson
we definitely got a big rep boost, 250 season tickets more than last year is a big boost. Usually we grow at 50 per year
Mine probably has new and creative user db jank, not just the standard issue user db jank. Regional pro-rel works but since i have 5 regions (canada, west, NE, central, south) i had to make the "filter" in the middle a stupid 40 team league
P sure it only loads in the 19.1 db. I deleted something with the "start date" in the advanced rules and i have no idea where it is, so you can't load just usa, you need to load something else too
With all of these it's probably best to holiday a few years and let the game world settle
>i want to leave because i dont play enough >Sure, fuck off then No one makes an offer because he's shit >wtf why havent you sold me yet >Try and sell yourself then No-one makes an offer because he's shit. So I try to offer him again to clubs. A scottish team 2nd league makes a good offer for him (an english league 1 reject) >Lol no my agent rejected the offer, why are you taking so long to get me a transfer?
No way to force him to sack his agent and drag him back to the other club and force him to sign the damn contract?
Logan Thomas
put him on double intensity training with an extra focus on endurance, make him play for reserves all the time and play him in matches that are 90% guaranteed wins to wear him out some more until he gets injured
Joshua Anderson
Lads, how do you sign African and Asian teenagers if they only have under 21s caps and can't get work permit, and you have no affiliated in Belgium etc?
I have about 10 foreign players in my reserves without work permits, and it'll be another four years or so until they get one.
Hunter Jones
That's my formation too. Go with:
>increased tempo >wide >increased closing down >overlapping fullbacks >retain possession
Isaac Clark
Get an affiliate, it’s the only way. Maybe sell the players with buy back clauses in a hope that they develop at their clubs. Otherwise don’t bother.
Xavier Lewis
Change wingers to IFs This is mine, it’s technically a flat back four but aggressive overlapping wingbacks. Possession High line maximum pressing Work ball into box
If they're good you can just loan them out to spain, eredivisie, turklig etc until the national team manager starts picking them. It's better anyway to play for like Eibar or Konyaspor than your reserves, maybe unless you have maxed out facilities
Aaron Bailey
Rate my starting XI lads (Obama is injured because it's 2020 and that has literally happened everytime I did a Arse save)
>FM2017 Celtic FC update >third season in charge >unbeaten in six games in the league (two home draws though) >in the CL group stage >lost first game away to Monaco >Atletico Madrid at home next >beat Rangers 3-1 away, now 7 points ahead of them in the league >refused to sell my 17-year-old Croatian midfielder to Liverpool, Roma etc >he's happy now and just signed a new contract >knocked out of the Dafabet Cup meaning no treble treble >still worried about the striker issue after Dembele left, currently have: Alessio Cerci (free agent, prefers playing right-wing), Alexander Isak (Swedish teenager on loan, wonderkid), Enes Unal (Turkish teenager striker, second season on loan), Jason Cummings (fast but unreliable), Jay Quitongo (scored 18 on loan to Hearts last season, but he's a "Defensive Striker" and prefers playing on the right-wing, no goals scored yet - frustrating) >have some great young players out on loan to Scottish Premier League teams >youth facilities just upgraded >training facilities to be upgraded in a year's time >£9million in the kitty
>playing Conference South >keeper injured >no backup on the bench >throw CB in at GK because of this >CB complains, asking why I "keep" playing him out of position I missed this.
>with 4 games remaining, more than half of teams still aren't safe weird doesn't even start to describe it
for me, it's gryf. must've lost almost every game in the 2nd half of the season
Connor Adams
>conference south having extras of anything LLM is a hell of it's own
Bentley Cox
4 points since winter break between 19th/20th lul
Leo Bell
>club has been a relegation fighter for the past 3 seasons >8th in first season >at the moment 2nd in second season with five games left >disastrous campaign so far

Luis Baker
Oh you're right I didn't notice it's 2002. Makes sense now.
Justin Adams
is Sant Andreu the comfiest team in Spain?
Best badge in the nation Cool as fuck name Old club with lots of history Can spend a good amount of time climbing the leagues
Jackson Taylor
after much consideration, I've decided to stop my Latvian save here after winning it all. I just can't bear the summer schedule anymore, and the hard 25-man squad limit means I can't even buy and develop prospects in peace or they'll start complaining that I left them out.
Jose Lewis
>The board feel the decision to sel Guillermo Lanzidei appears to be a poor financial deal for the club putting aside that he was sold 12 months ago he's 32 and valued at £1.6m
I am about to lose almost my entire squad because the club is extremely poor and I cannot offer more than £150 to players who have only 6 months on their contract
>sign a really promising CB, agent forces a 25m release clause right away >accept because he could really improve my team >want to offer him a contract some time later to get rid of the release clause >agent locks it in every single time So I just need to wait and hope that he fires his agent, right?
Gabriel Russell
God his agent sounds like a cunt, spark some drama and hope he fires him.
Shame because the dude is really good and only 19. I mean, I'd at least make a profit (bought him for 10m) but he could easily be worth over 50 in a moment.
Picked up Fabio Silva for 8mill, very good player.
Hudson Wilson
Why is it in this game that after a while of playing the same formation, your players turn into brainless zombies, and the opposition seem to finish each chance into the top corner of the net.
The classic story of a match where my stikers miss 40 1v1s but the opposing team finish 2 times from edge of the box
Its almost as bad as fifa scripting the way your defenders refuse to mark players
Daniel Parker
It's kind of like real life when big teams eventually lose to a way shittier team that has the best match of the season against them
Camden Moore
I thought you weren't allowed two teams from the same country in the CL?
>Is his career fucked as far as becoming elite goes? Why would you think that? Only way is if he doesn't develop anymore. Could play CF, IF, RMD, SS if he improves his Vision and Passing... He definitively needs tut- ahem, mentoring, but there's nothing wrong with him.
Juan Rodriguez
Maybe something's messed up when it comes to the CL/EL winner?
Owen Rivera
(Me) >Why would you think that? Oh wait, I'm being silly. Of course.

Ultra Instinct but also a drooling thalidomide
Asher Reed
all that matters is that youre first place when it finishes
fernando torres team tosu and urawa were battling it out. staying same points for a while. then tosu slipped. last day was 67, 69, 70. i was away to tosu and urawa played consadole sapporo. i won 0-3 and urawa drew 2-2.
Should one sell highly touted prospects for way more than they're worth to bigger clubs, or hang onto them even though you know they won't play much?
Jack Nguyen
Why wouldn't you play them or even loan them for money if they're indeed highly touted prospects that bigger clubs want to buy? Otherwise, ask for 50% of next sale.
James Thomas
Because the US is shit so no one will take him on loan, even for 0 wages I can play him here and there, but he's just not good enough to get regular time yet.
Nathan Lee
i have decided to fuck my FM18. every single league data base in game. going to edit 10 countries into perfect 200s. going to edit 10 countries into the worst 1s. got hopefully 150 legends in game and a couple hundred youth superstars. and with a shit ton of country cups like the Baltic cup and Gulf Cup and Caribbean Cup.
for the 20 countries edited. it can be 1 user or it can be multiple anons and no country is safe
Dominic Sullivan
Fucking Rogerio Ceni
Nathaniel Baker
i got 19 countries cued for this and in their lowest division possible and this is how many players there are

Make sure you can defend properly and you'll be well enough.
Jose Adams

legends database i got. supposed to add in 150ish legends into the game. the ones i posted aren't in it for some reason. makes them go to their youth club and born in the year 2000 so you can have Pele, R9, Puyol, Bergkamp, Litmanen, Cruyff and Yashin on your team if you play your cards right
Ayden Peterson
stop posting anytime

Okay lads, I finally found a league I'm OK with. Argentinian Second Division. I can only have four foreigners but it seems easy to get them nationality. I signed a load of free lads. Two games in.

Isaac Green
>losing in the FA cup to a team two leagues above >losing 0-5 at half >Zoned out clicked "I'm happy with how we're performing"
Guys, why can't all players form links with their team mates? I've talked about it before in other threads, an old arcade game called WCCF allowed you to form links with your entire team so it formed shit like this. Obviously FIFA stole this idea (which is why the game got kicked out of EU).
April 1st in game, April first in real life. Come on m80.
Zachary Long
>game would prank you every few April 1sts that would be based but also cringe

I know Rollercoaster Tycoon used to have the logo intro play upside down on April 1st (computer date) and other shit like that. Theme Hospital too.
Jacob Cook
I can't believe there are still cunts out there who haven't seen this and still fall for it. Been in FM for at least 5 years.
Isaiah Murphy
final table for that thing, I want to shittalk Gryf's manager so badly but idk how to do that lol (found out why they jobbed so hard, their autumn manager left for Bytovia and they got some noob)
>1 win total from the bottom five clubs in their final five matches yikes
Adrian Thomas
Is it Judging Ability + Tactical Knowledge that affects the outcome of assistant managers tactical instructions for opponent players? I managed to sign a guy for my Argentinian Div.2 with 13JA and 17TK and he seems to apply more complex instructions than other managers with way lower. I mean, it's not hard to apply instructions which can really limit a team but it's easier knowing I can just hit 'auto' and it'll help.
Adrian Fisher
>It's easier thinking I can just hit 'auto' and it might help Fixed.
>players are pissed I sold my 20yo defender there should be an option to tell them 'he wanted it guys', besides what the hell - he transferred into the 16th league in Europe by rep, while we're at 55th, and he's earning 10x the money fucking negros of Europe I swear
Cameron Thomas
theyre pissed because they wanted to use you as a stepping stone, not be the stepping stone for other players
Luke Allen
well to be fair the feeling's mutual because once I get a better offer abroad I'm fucking off as well I would've given the instigator the what-for in reserves and training but he's my best forward so I'll suck him off for a while

>beat arch rivals 3-1 >game crashes >keep restarting to get 3-1 result again >won't happen Fuck sake fuck off fucking game fuck you. I've restarted 6 times already and they always score, I've never ended a game with a clean sheet.

Okay managed to win 4-1, conceded a 25yard freekick that should never have been allowed to go in. Yet despite a 3+ goal victory over rivals, my fans and board did not care.
>haven't watched more than 2 games all season in any league/cup, barely any in like 2-3 years desu >fuck it lets see who is in the latter stages of the CL >SPUDS in the quarter finals >mfw they're starting lineup is literally LITERALLY just wonderkids from 10 years ago that we'd all cheese
davinson sanchez, moussa sissoko, eriksen, aldeirweireld, vertonghen, lamela, this entire team is a fucking meme
>FM2017 Celtic FC update >end of the third season is approaching >1st and 2nd seasons won the triple (League and two domestic cups) >this season won the league by over 20 points >knocked out of both cups before the quarter final stage >third place in the CL group >got through to the Europa League Quarter Finals (lost to Roma) >been playing a ton of youth players regularly now that I've already won the league >signed one teenager from Trinidad and Tobago who got a work permit and is doing well >signed a ball-winning CM from the DMRCongo who is developing quickly >Norwegian teenage CM is developing quickly and attracting interest >"French" teenage centre back is now worth almost 2 million after signing for £350k >17-year-old Croat CM bought for £1.9million aged 16 is now worth £3.5 and developing rapidly >two 16-year-old Croat centre backs bought for £1million each are both doing really well on loan >Norwegian teenage striker only scored 9 goals in 28 games on loan to another Scots Premier League team but is developing >PJ Crossan is now 20 but scored a ton of goals for a Scots Championships Team last season, will loan him to a Prem team next season >Ivory Coast midfielder I bought aged 17/18 and loaned out has finally got a work permit after playing for the national team, developing rapidly >bought Patrick Roberts (22) for £9million after having him on loan for three seasons >worried about a lack of a main striker for next season; don't want to loan someone but don't have anyone who can fill Dembele's boots
Dylan King
My 15 year old wonderkid isn't getting any gametime in my u19 but playing time doesn't matter under the age of 18 so this shouldn't be a problem, right?
Jacob Green
Give it a rest boys, you've all got 4 years left on your shit contracts
Come on, Adriano's story is sad. But on the other hand it shows how big of a manchild he is
Lucas Mitchell
as a lower league team is it worth
a. having a head of youth with the best stats you can afford
b. get some popular old international player with lots of rep with half decent stats to bring in players?
Jackson Wood
the one who's cheaper since you arent bringing in shit anyways
Alexander Brown
Essential staff only. It's better to use that money to improve junior coaching or facilities instead. specially junior coaching which is in my experience the most important thing to get good regens.
Grayson Edwards
how the fuck do i get into this game there's so many things you have to keep your eye on and i feel like to proceed one week in game you have to play for like 1 hour
Justin Price
Once you know what you're doing, you can easily finish a season in a day, it's not even that hard. But you need experience and knowledge of the "game" Generally it's better to start as some average/good team in a top league to learn how shit works. You can also leave some stuff to your assman so you don't feel like you're actually at work while playing FM
Sebastian Cook
you can always set it so your staff do 90% of the work and then slowly take control back as you get more comfortable
Kevin Peterson
>three strikers injuried before the Liverpool 1/8 CL game >have to play an 18y/o brazilian and a 22y/o inexperienced in europe belgian up front Fucking great
You have Elite Wingerman reincarnated as a defender.
Bentley Lewis
A season in a day? What speed do you watch your games in
Caleb Martin
Should I get back in FM? Use to play it all the time then just lost interest and time for videogames but have been thinking a lot lately about getting back into this
Nathan Evans
Yes.
Daniel Adams
You don't get back into FM, FM gets back into you.
Dominic Baker
Playing fm19 with a database from 2003-04, its legit af. super competitive, super fun, good vibes with the nostalgia etc. check it out if you havent already bros
>switch over to a wide open player out wide >run forward a bit >cross into the box >unmarked man scores How do I stop this?
Lincoln Stewart
Man marking plus a spare man at the back.
Isaac Fisher
>woke up sick >went to work >manager tells me to go home after 3 hours >it's still 11am >just came back, made myself some tea and turned on fm If only I didn't have a cold, it would be quite comfy
I once made a team with myself in it with the people on my high school soccer team
Nathaniel Gutierrez
So, I might have officially lost all reason due to how fucking painful it is to manage in Azerbaijan's second division, but I suddenly want to try and make a retarded custom DB. One of those "what if Wales was proper independent and all Welsh teams were in the WPL", but with European regions. Someone pls give me pointers on how to start working on a custom DB like this.
Matthew Robinson
How do you start making more dosh as a mid table league 1 team? Do I just need to get to playoffs to raise profile and therefore attendance?
Kevin Turner
>How do you start making more dosh as any team? Be successful and/or wheel and deal players. Those are your only options.
If you're talking about stuff like catalonia and the basque country, it's a huge pain in the ass to mess with anything that touches international football in the editor
this guy's file looks like it's probably ok, then you can make a catalan national league, kick the clubs out of the spanish system and promote lower clubs to fill the gaps.
One thing that's deceptively easy is making big regional leagues (scandi, caucasus, ex-yu etc) - base the rules in one of the nations, set the other nations to non-foreign if you want foreign player limits, upscale it to about turkish or dutch rep + finances, don't forget about the stupid nation wage + transfer value tables too
Jaxson Edwards
all that guy has done is rename andorra
Nicholas Lopez
also changed nationalities for the catalan players, plus andorran names are pretty close to catalan so the "catalan" regens won't all be named Jeff Smith. It's probably the best workaround, as basic as it is
i don't think anyone makes legitimate custom nations without renaming something
Angel Hall
Yeah but there isn't even a league. The /trb/ database is more in depth than this.
its mostly to do with player and team instructions. I would HIGHLY recommend using a DLP(D) or a equivilant holding player, ideally positioned in a place where he isnt going to be marked (cm or dm strata is the best place generally) This player acts as a safe passing option to recycle possession into when your attack breaks down or when you get pressed.
Eli Ortiz
>prospect is homesick >promise to buy his friend >his only friend is a 32 year old that wants 90k/w >give it to him to appease my bright young prospect >salty dog plays like shit and gets homesick himself >forced to sell him for a loss of 5mn fml
Connor Howard
>Holland Netherlands. Fuck you SI.
Brayden Thompson
why do my players keep getting straight red cards? I have urgent pressing but I had the same tactics last season and got 1 red card the whole time. This year, 15 games in, 5 reds. fucking makes me want to break something
Adrian Gonzalez
bunch of new players? teams that aren't familiar with each other/the tactics defend like morons, wouldn't be surprised if that leads to people getting sent off either through poor discipline or just trying to stop breaks or it could be the old rep increase --> teams defend deeper, counterattack more, and magically play better against you now, which might especially be a problem if you don't have some kind of holding midfield player and your other guys are hacking ankles and knees when the defenders get outnumbered
Luis Cruz
They're all shit and similar. Who should I use for an advanced forward role?
probably walker or clough. setting a guy as AF seems to encourage other players to whack the ball over the defensive line for them to run onto, so despite whatever FM says about the role, being fast and a decent finisher (esp. composure) are by far the most significant things also I would put anyone with 4 determination in a gas chamber, not your match squad, unless it's a semi-pro team and you have no choice
Benjamin Myers
I'm gona go with Velios I think, purely because he's a physical beast
How can I get this green? half my team are under 23 and have played almost every game a few of them have gone up like 1/2 star in ability in less than half a season
1) You download FFmpeg; 2) You install recorder devices; 3) You ask Google; 4) You give up; 4.5) You downgrade to Win10; 5) You press Win+G; 6) You convert the result using WebM for Retards.
They may just be incompetent at it, or your tactics don't work with those instructions. OTOH, intelligent and able players will try to retain possession naturally instead of hoofing it.
Mason Martinez
lmao what a tosser can't say it's unrealistic though, this shit happened two days ago streamable.com/hwtwr
Cooper Long
>i don't think anyone makes legitimate custom nations without renaming something You can't create a country from scratch. Been there, done that.
At least you can see the guy wanted to avoid the ball instead of tapping it in.
Zachary Martinez
>Shit striker wants first team action >tell him to pipe down >Goes to complain to his teammates >they side with me >he gets dropped by his national team
Why do you piss on my corn-flakes? I didn't piss in your beans with tomato sauce. Let me have fun!
Michael Hill
I'll piss in your mouth and you'll enjoy it
Aaron Rivera
This means Brexit.
Michael Wright
>get Lazio in CL semifinal >second pair is Atletico Madrid - Real Madrid >Atletico somehow comes back from a 2-0 defeat to beat Real 3-0 after Extra Time >I got a 4-1 win at home against Lazio and will likely advance >eliminated Atletico twice in the last 3 seasons and Real usually kicked my ass This is my year lads
Tyler Cruz
I'll fucking have to do it this year despite all my strikers being absolute dogshit and none being in the top 3 scorers in the league or cl, best one has 16 fucking goals in april.
yeah, but he'll be on the podium when you collect your medals, so its ok
Adam Scott
>Flopping before mid season Nice.
Focus play through middle doesn't focus play through middle, it increases the mentality of players playing in the axis of the pitch, from the CBs to the CMs. The rest is floaty midfield magic with a BBMN that roams, a AP(S) that doesn't really hold nor move forward nor is inclined to defend, and a CM(A) who's very active, supported by a DM(S) that could be a holding role but with his Support duty has a tendency to move forward. All that with no specific pressing/defending instructions to compensate.
This tictac can work if you have very competent players who can dominate the midfield and retain possession skilfully; unlikely to be the case in English D4 mid-table (even relative to the opposition).
Landon Morris
And in the shitfest that was this final I found my first treble on this save. Only took me up to season 2023/24. But by god, what a shitty fucking final, literally no highlights outside of the goal and one freekick that the gk saved
Going through one of my toughest saves ever in FM. >Start with Weston >Get to VNL >Relegated back >Given the boot after a few years >Get picked up by Torquay >Also get them to VNL >Trapped in VNL and bouncing between barely not making playoffs or avoiding relegation
Feels like I'm in an old war sitting in the front lines for ages.
So hard to sign anyone or even get loan players because of semi-pro status seems to be a really big turn off in this version.
>At least the board is letting me upgrade youth facilities, junior coaching, and youth recruitment
Though I'd think with the format tinkering happening with the Canadian Championship it'd be sooner than that.
Austin Thomas
>2x VW sponsor >2x "one soccer" sponsor >all made by the same manufacturer, who is also the shirt sponsor for one team bit weird, but doesn't matter I guess. looking forward to it I kind of like the two-tone purple on the pacific fc shirt
Jonathan Davis
Couldn't they just merge with the MLS and force the MLS to adopt non-retarded format rules?
Elijah Bennett
tfw FM has sapped all your manhood away, so you fall back to a 5-3-2 DM, and just torture every team you play into a draw or a 1-0 W/L. At least I'll get to keep Torquay in the VNL at the end of the day.
>lowkey going to have to reduce junior coaching/youth recruitment because blowing about 31k a month on them rofl
>tfw you get a lifetime sentence because the player that happened to be shown is a winger and the jury is full of canadians
Jacob Bailey
Deserved 2bh
Michael Reyes
i've got a 15 yo midfielder with low Determination if I had my 19 yo midfielder tutor him would his age make the tutoring less effective than say a 25-30 player tutoring him?
Cooper Morgan
not necessarily, but I could be wrong. I think it's more about player reputation (ie. how seriously the young guy takes the ""old"" guy), so being older probably helps, but there are other ways to get there that said I think the 19 year old would have to be your captain for this to work
Adrian Cook
brb putting "Canadian Premier League Apertura Champion" on my resume
Ayden Gomez
ah ok
I'm getting in an u19s coach with really high mental coaching and motivation as I heard that helps and I think I'll try to bring in an older midfielder solely for tutoring as this kid seems like he could be really good for me in the future
Aaron Anderson
every goalkeeper seems to shit their pants when they see Big Dick Nick running at them
sorry for the retarded question but which menu holds the "average rating" column? The one that's at the end of the selection info view. Just don't see it anywhere and I want to add it to a custom view
low tempo + no counterattacking means your main source of attack (in the eyes of your retarded FM-brained players) is hoofing it up to berggreen, which is relatively simple for the AI to defend. try giving your >wingers more license to go forward, and maybe increasing your tempo - doesn't have to be permanently, you can move it up and down during the game depending on whether you want to maintain possession or attack
That's what I'm going for, though for my entire FM career I've played low possession counter tactics so I'm not entirely sure if what I'm going is optimal
I am actually a dumb, those instructions are not the default ones. Normally a PF(A) is there since it's the GOAT FM19 role. Still having some troubles as of late with having my strikers scoring after Seferovic scored 15 goals in the first half of the season. I have an inkling it's a mix of those low crosses and not having them work it into the box. What do you think is preferable, a IW(A)-CM(S)-CM(D)-WP(S) midfield line, or a IW(S)-CM(A)-CM(D)-WP(S)? In both attempts, the CM(A) or (S) would have take more risks as an instruction.
