Fascinating how the "Indycar has a higher top speed" meme sticks in the minds of people who don't know what they're talking about.
F1 cars today are the fastest they've ever been despite being so hamstrung by regulations. I would hazard a bet though that F1 cars from 00-04 would be faster than today's cars if they were equipped with ultra-wide Pirelli slicks.
Business idea: Find whatever landfill they dump their plastic wall wrap in after the race, take a pic making sure you can see all the logos, and shame them on social media in to not using it any more.
I imagine they'd have to have the same issue in the same countries who have REEEE'd about it already. Add to that the normie "only children play video games" belief, and the hysterical "cigarette advertising aimed at child" stories in the normal media that will follow, and I doubt they'll include it in the game.

Friendly reminder that the last V8 era had "cheap" engines because performance related development was forbidden, Engines development was frozen after 3 years, after that only reliability related improvements were allowed. Before that in the V10 era all the top engines were simillarly pricey, but because all were in manufacturer backed teams there are only estimates, customer engines which has known costs were always midpack or latter half of the grid things (apart from the Fisi memewin in 03 brazil). They were at minimum 1 year old (petronas, acer branded ferraris), or even 4-5 year old (asiatech, supertec) or just plain shit even as new (Ferd/Cossie)

I haven't, I nearly drove an F3 car with Puresport but decided on some extra laps in their 488 instead. That being said, they set a great atmosphere and the guys that drove the single-seaters that day were very complimentary on how they were prepared and what they got out of it. If you have deep enough pockets they've got an old Damon Hill Arrows too.
RBRing has FR2.0 cars and an FR3.5 available at non-very-extortionate prices - that's been on my radar for a while too but I've never managed to line up the pieces.
