>>tfw the no talent so just run all over the pitch kicking people's legs position
the fellaini role

GK so i could stand around and just jump when i had to

I was usually one of the goalposts

idk when i was a little kid we just pressed whichever kid on the other team had the ball, and dribbled more than passed in possession

GK because shit at footy and everyone else is a manlet (i'm 182 now)

Played RB for a few years, and yes I was utterly useless

Prime me was a CDM, past it and fat useless shit me only got cameo’s at LB and RM

Played RB because I had stamina and something resembling defensive ability. Played in goal for some games when both of our keepers were hurt.

center back til 12 or so, then i quit for a while. started again at 16 and was still a CB but by that point i was a manlet so it didn't go very well.

Same experience for me, believe me your coach thought you were trash

Oh I know, hated that fat cunt but loved playing so much that I just went along. It helped that the only other fullback in my position played on the wing so I was a consistent starter.

was a no 10 in all younger categories, but had to stop playing because of Uni. Still thinking about going back to play for my local club, but im way out of shape.

Dude are you literally me? Or is the RB position really such a meme

leftback in the changing rooms

gordos

>RB
maybe I can play here, all I did was run all day as midfielder but being able to use my right foot and run a lot is pretty much what a RB has to do. just don't think I'm one of those RBs who crosses

>"L"S
>"R"S
>"L"CB
>"R"CB
Cringe and bluepilled

Left and right back and absolute meme positions.

Yeah as long as you could mark and deal with one on one situations you could do the job.

I used to play somewhere in the middle because I was shit at anything that didn't involve simply kicking the ball harder than everyone else

Keeping the bench warm.

imagine not playing in a team where everyone is a forward

When I was younger I was a high energy box to box that could run all day. Then when everyone else developed skill on the ball and I didn't I settled into being a defensive minded outside back.

goalkeeper is one of the most important positions show some respect

Played American Footbal in HS (was a tight end) when I got into college I played pick up Futbol to stay in shape. Played CB. 90 mins was a tough feat at 255lbs but I managed. I was strong so I consistently was carded for strongarming people during corners. Managed a header or two but really enjoyed playing CB. Barking orders holding the line etc

I was LB when playing seriously. But at lower levels I would be up front and just score tapins and steal goals created by the skilful winger (the CR7/Kane role).

Think we are assembling an excellent team of low quality players here. Just need as our one creative guy and good to go.

le run fast winger and occasionally preteding to be 340iq c"d"m

Yeah i'm up.
Just need a proper, Glenn Murry-esque striker and we're set

this is what it is like here when you invite the African kids to play

Gk. Was pretty decent too, kicking myself for not pursuing it in college

Wings, right or left didn't matter.

Cam because I was always the shitter.

can you cut inside onto your strong foot and shoot?

right back

i was so abominably bad at football i hated it until i got older. i played rugby.

i was genuinely bad at soccer but very fast so they stuck me on the wing.

Only if the defense was shit. Was easier on the right wing. But more often than not I'd just whip it in for strikers.

>tfw too short to play centre half

Had to settle for being a no nonsene full back

central midfielder, was a dead ball specialist, used to take unorthodox long distance shots quite often
scored a goal once directly from a corner kick against a rival town who we used to beat all the time, had so much fun during those days

lifelong RB here

I always played CB but stopped young
I grew to be a manlet so would have probably ended up as DM

RCB or LCB. Was also the goalkeeper occasionally because I got good at it from practicing with my brother who would always be a striker.

left wing
Im right footed but I could cross my left so they stuck me there

centre mid, rightback, centre back. terrible at all three. kept getting picked because I was 6'+ and had a decent attitude

>dad played CB
>desperately wanted to play CB to be like him
>all my friends played at the back
>have asthma
>get put at midfield

Still fucking upset at these niggers.

backup LM because i was a lefty and otherwise useless. i wanted to play back or GK, but we had two solid keepers already and i wasn't good enough to be trusted to actually defend anyone

i stopped around age 11

Lifelong DM here. Distribution and defensive prowesses.

I was a right wing who couldn't dribble or shoot but I was good at passing and decent at defending also tallest on the team but couldn't head the ball

Nice, bet you were ripped owo

CDM because all I could do was run. The lads would always congratulate me for running like a madman and I'd autistically smile back.
>tfw you're basically a taller kante

False 3

Most in the hole or left wing, absolutely hopeless on the right for some reason. One year for a local team they had me play as a lone striker target man (5'10) against brutes. It was a horrific experience.

Center back, my nigga

Center back, but I’ve played center mid as well

The Ozil role.

>right wing
>couldn’t dribble
You should’ve done speed training so you could just blast past opposing defenders nigger style

I was slow as fuck and just based my playstyle off of crossing and getting assists

I was R/LB and usually played 60% of the match, occasionally being one of two defenders in most games but essential rival games. Our team was routinely 9-1/10-0 from age 6 to 11, but got refballed so freaking hard in a state invitational 1st round match. Free kick and penalty goal nullified while conceding a penalty in a 1-0 loss. Whole team was so mad, we all converted to baseball.

Either behind the striker as an attacking mid/shadow striker, or as a left winger and drifting inside. I was passable at RW, CM and striker as well. Even >regista if we were on top of a game.

>all these fullbacks
fucking losers
>bunch of centerbacks as well
weirdos

Thought Yea Forums was a chad board

I started off at GK because I was trash, then graduated to left back, then gradually kept moving forward after watching countless 240p Ronaldinho videos for those skill gainz. Thank you, Ronnie.

>not making generations evolving with positions
>not having kids who subsequently play as forwards
never going to make it my american friend

Left-back when I was young & played on good teams
Striker/cherry-picker when I got older & played on fuckaround teams

Enganche

>me as a little boy
>insist on being gk deapite being by far the shortest kid on every team
>coaches always let me, since nobody else wanted to be gk
>absoluty horrible gk, but at least had good distribution
Became a CDM as I got older and became less of a manlet (180 cm now)

Forward.
I was good at scoring tap in goals. Some matches we played without off-side rule so I just stood a few meters away from the rival GK and waited for the ball, some other matches there was off-side so I just moved around the final 3/4 of the pitch and waited while my teammates did all the effort and I just pushed the ball. I'm tall so headers were no trouble.

Must be the easiest position to play in since there is zero stress, if you lose the ball it's no big deal, no danger for your GK. If you miss the shot you can blame the guy who passed you the ball for not giving a better assist.

I didn't play long enough to say I actually played midfield. Stopped after I was about 12. When I got back into it and started playing rec leagues I was a sweeper because I can't dribble or pass very well.

this lmao

playing as a defender is basically having an INCEL sign plastered all over your face

I've played at center back most of my life, can play right or left back too if I have to. In college they stuck me at CDM though so I'm having to adjust to that. Lots of running

usually rm or cm although i also occasionally played rs and rb, which was funny considering i had no fucking clue how to play and had no stamina but still managed to play d1. there is literally no fucking competition here

Cdm because while I can run all day my acceleration is godawful and my confidence in actually winning the ball is shit, if I could fix these I might actually be a functional defender. That would also probably get me to stop giving the ball away.

RS as young and RB as a teen because the new coach was a meme tactician that put GKs in the midfield.
RB is infinitely funnier to play though,
>tfw you tackle the opponent LS and he chimpout
>tfw he gets super mad after shooting in the wall because kids/teens playing in farmers village teams just can't score freekicks

I guess it’s true what they say about fullbacks being shitters

Right or left wing. Had plenty of pace so would either run down the right and ping balls into the box or play as an inverted winger on the left and do my best LCIM impression. I wasn't a big guy so sometimes they'd place me at false 9 too so the big lads playing as strikers had a bit more space.

Completely talentless so basically a butcher DM. Just kick shins, get rid of the ball as soon as possible and in case I fucked up there were people behind me to fix the mess.

I was Stevie G and Kanté rolled into one. Played anywhere where i could get by without pace but with decent technique and brains and with extreme will to not lose

ST when I was a kid, then LB/LM as a youth. If I was 10 cm taller I'd be the GOAT GK desu-ne.

started rb then moved to cb, i wanted to play up front but no fucking dice. quit that shit once school ended, team sucked balls anyway. my final game i had to bust up a fight between my lb and some pacey paki nigger

>all these fullbacks on Yea Forums
is it the autism position?

DM
reason I never made it is because I started smoking early so I had zero endurance

did a knee injury stop you from making it to the pros?

I played football when I was 8-11. I was absolutely shit, so RB/defense like all the other shit players.

rwf. wanted to be a right midfielder but didn't have the stamina so the gaffer stuck me up top on the wing where i didn't have to run much and could just hoof crosses in. was a pretty good crosser, dogshit at everything else.

It's just that most lower class leagues are super heavy on defense. We always played with 5 guys near halffield and only had 3 really offensive guys on the field

Started as goalkeeper when I was younger, and thought I was pretty decent there. Stopped playing for a couple years then switched to CB. Was pretty good for the high school JV team. Then benchwarmer.
Played striker once on my birthday when we were already winning and scored a goal, made me happy :)

>tfw unironically used to be good at football
I was 15 playing for a semi-pros team reserves then I discovered weed and my life downward spiralled

CDM/CM reporting here. I like to think that I'm semi decent with the the ball at my feet, and I usually like to start the play from the back with the ball on the ground instead oh hoofing it up to the big lad up front or the pacy negro on the line.
I also had crazy fucking stamina to chase people down, and unironically played in a system somewhat similar to gegenpressen, although more on the style of zeman, and got pretty good at picking out passing lanes.
My dream was always to be the lad with the great assists, ball control, megging everyone, but i was usually like 2 or 3 passes before a goal.
Damn, i have not played for real since october. I hate my fucking job.

I'll take the sarcasm in good faith. It's how others described playing with/against me. When playing DM our team conceded 2) and when playing AM we were ~2gpg so I'm proud of my Napoleon complex

I was a pretty good left wing. I'm a fairly pacy manlet so I could just go past all the awkward clumsy lanklets that make up this country.

>can't finish so can't play up front
>can't keep my head up or cross so can't play on the wing
>shit and slow at passing so can't play midfield
>prone to errors so can't play at CB or GK
>absolutely horrible with left foot
Right back

I played striker, great pace to beat the back line, but shit with heading although I’m six foot.
I haven’t played in years and I muss it so much

Defense, shit with the ball and everyone wanted to go forward. My team won every game unironicallt because of me, since no one cared about defending on both sides my team would win because of the counters I could stop just by staying, or tracking, back

I was always the tallest lad around, so I was put into CB. Loved a good Joel Matip ill-advised run though the middle of the park though. Was always a pacey boi, so it worked out well most times.

CB in a back 4 a said child when I was really tall and lumbering. Sweeper in a back 3 as a teenager since I'm a manlet but fast and smart

I was the leftback because I'm left-footed but also had a good right shot, but I also got used as CDM or rightback. I am pretty fast and have good stamina and my tacklings aren't bad either, but I've always lacked the ability to play calmly, I wasn't resistant to pressing, so to say. I couldn't play as the last man in front of the GK since I would always lose the ball there. Also wasn't very good with the ball at my feet, I usually just paced through.

rush goalie and swapped with the striker sometimes and became goal hanger getting nice tap ins
>not rating Fellaini

Mostly centre mid
I hated running but had good vision and ball control as well as ball retention ability, could pass and could shoot blooters every now and then

I was basically in the kante role. Quickly closed people down and repossesed the ball but was then too pussy to do anything with it and just passed to someone good

strangely one time at a 5-a-side tournament in sixth form I ended up as the top scorer for the whole thing just by scoring fortunate tap ins. I wasn't even meant to be playing, someone asked me to fill in at the last minute purely because I wasn't horrendously out of shape

I played striker or sometimes center mid. I had good ball control because I would also play 5v5 or 4v4 with the lads, so I got more ball touches than the average guy on my 11v11 team. I scored some pretty cool goals too

Left back, after breaking my arm, and then my thumb, as a keeper.

Basically a mix between a CB/CDM. Too small to be a bulky CB and no offensive abilities at all. No one could pass me in one-on-ones and had a decent understanding of when to cut a passing lane, then get the ball as far away from me as possible.

Mainly played as a CB when I was younger, but I was a pace merchant so I pushed ludicrously high up the field because nobody could beat me back. I also played as a GK, but only in rec league, never competitively. Once I got into highschool, I started playing as a "striker" (I had to play box to box most games to cover the defense) because my team was shit and I was the only one who could score, which tells you how bad we were.
Nowadays I cycle between striker, LB, or the 10.

trequartista

It seems like there are two types of kids who volunteer to be the GK: the shitters (usually too overweight to want to run or just timid) and the absolute gods.

Raumdeuter

>tfw our keeper was the slightly overweight absolute god
Lad genuinely could've gone pro.

what about the overweight kids who turn out to be good goalkeepers

on holiday, Thomas?

Chubby keepers can be gods as long as they're not lazy fat.

I was a right back or mid.

I could pass and run a lot but my shooting was wank. I had one really good goal where I chipped the keeper but the only other goal I scored when I played regularly was a literal recreation of the sissoko goal for liverpoo.

youtube.com/watch?v=fFeg_hl0Se4

>have enough technical ability to make my city's MLS academy after being scouted from lo cal competitive league
>mostly just a tall lanky cunt who could run super fast though and win headers
>start playing on the team and do well in training and scrimmages
>actual season starts and im being play as the left sided centerback in a back three
>im right footed
>shit left foot
>also lose my spaghetti really easily and can't play out from the back
>would always get dragged by good wingers
>was a huge liability for my team
>was too much of a bitch to win headers despite being taller usually
>out of position when defending counters
>literally the worst player on the starting XI
The only compliment I got on my gameplay was that I had "good recoveries" which is the actual hallmark of a shit defender lmao

was mainly a CDM. Actually scored higher on the football test than the GOAT in my school, I was a workrate babby

Oh, I forgot to mention that once, when I was playing as a striker, the other team had a really cocky keeper who thought he was Ederson. On his first goal kick, he sent the ball directly at me and I ended up chipping him with a deflection off of my knee.

You're literally me except I'm three inches shorter so being bad at heading is a little more tolerable. My coaches always just told the rest of the team to play hoofball for me to chase. I was thinking of a team that that's similar to but every team that plays/played with just hoofing it up that I can think of has a Deeney/Ashley Barnes type player. Anyone know a team who has just a smaller, pacier striker rather than a giant who holds up the play?

CB or very rarely CDM. I had absolutely no technique on the ball. I'd win it and either get it back to the goalie or hoof it. I was a goalkeeper as a kid but I used to run out of goal a lot and flatten people, so I got moved out when a decent goalie came along at U12 level.

I would basically just man mark one of their attacking players. I was really tall for my age, so I could beat most people in the air, and I'd foul and niggle the other guy off the ball constantly. Jersey-pulling, stepping on feet, jostling, whatever. Most of the people I was playing with and against were converted GAA players, so games could get fairly rough. I actually wasn't terrible. I was nicknamed "the wardrobe" after Richard Dunne by the other lads.

Put me against a team with any sort of structure or decent coaching though and I'd fall apart. We had absolutely no organisation in defence. It was basically drawing lots to see who'd play beside me. Everyone else wanted to be a striker or a winger. Our "fullbacks" were constantly up in midfield and our "wingers" were up on the edge of the box goal-hanging. We were supposed to play 4-4-2, but it just turned into 2-4-4. We were fucking terrible.

>We were supposed to play 4-4-2, but it just turned into 2-4-4. We were fucking terrible.
literally any U-15 or below side ever

Played in a 4fun rec league from 8-16 with a bunch of kids who were mostly there because their parents forced them to be.
I played as GK, defender, and midfielder for 2-3 years each and even did a year as a striker. We didn't really specialize in left/right positioning and just made our own formations game-to-game during a pre-game huddle depending on who showed up.

So you were a >regista

GK, made it to the national youth setup and then got put out with a head injury, fuck how my life changed lads ;_;7

left/right mid or second striker. was quite the elite müller-esque tapin merchant as a kid.
now slightly technically gifted 75 pace false winger

>that feel when you play libero in a 4-4-2
>tfw for the last match of the season , coach shuffles roles
>tfw you score a blooter as a CM
Such a kino moment.

Libero

I played as a left side back when I was 9 y.o

striker, I love midfield but I don't have the stamina for it

>RB

Lateral is seen as the shittiest position here.

Sweeper keeper

RB, I was the typical English player with very little skill but good long balls and aggressive tackling.

5, most important position in Uruguayan football.

played lb, shitty feet but i was very fast

Benchwarmer/DM

I played futsal though, so I always ended up attacking more than defending

I usually play left back, sometimes centre back depending on the injury situation.
Ngl centre back sucks hard, left back is okay but I want to play more forward ;__;

I was a winger at first but I was too slow. Then they made me a striker and that kind of worked out because I was good off the ball and decent at finishing, but again I was too slow and physically not strong enough to beat the defenders. I quit when I was 13
