The Coyotes are doing their best to hold on to one of the two wild-card spots in the West for their first playoff appearance since 2012. The Jets are doing their best to finish atop the Central Division standings and avoid the red-hot St. Louis Blues in the first round.

I contend it was the best season in CWHL history. The league was more saturated with talent this year than any year previous and she still managed to average almost 2ppg. That + the fact Melodie Daoust and Jillian Saulnier both missed a combined 30 games makes her season much more impressive as she did it without arguably Montreals 2nd and 3rd best players. IF they weren't hurt, Poulin probably could have hit 68-75 points which is quite simply amazing

This one is interesting. Through watching the entire season and taking into account which defenders are the best when just looking at how they performed, my vote would go to Erin Ambrose to Halli Krzyzaniak and Mellissa Channell. Erin played on a stacked team where everything ran through her on the PP, so of course she would put up insane numbers. Halli and Mellissa played primarily shutdown roles for their respective teams. Halli had a decent year offensively but one has to think that playing on such a stacked blueline makes it easier for her to do what she did. Mellissa Channell put up 6 points in the final month to help her team get into the playoffs and lead her team in scoring on the blueline. She also has a battle level that is unmatched throughout most of the league and I never witnessed her losing many puck battles. She is also able to log insane minutes and thats a big boost to a team where basically only her and Renata Fast are legit players. If this award went out to the truly best defender in the league who helped their team get to where they were, no question I would pick Mellissa.
Again my vote would have to go to a goalie who put her team on her back and willed them into the playoffs. Shea Tiley would get my vote when just seeing how many shots she faced compared to others. Alex Rigsby should probably win, with Calgary playing the torpedo style, they sometimes leave her out to dry and she has to be a wall back there in order for her team to win.
Noora Raty shouldn't even get a vote in my opinion, all she had to do was win 1 game against Calgary during their 3 game Chinese series and she failed big time. She let her team down big this year and will probably retire soon
