Not really. If anything the #1 is a burden because if you lose to a #16 seed everyone is gonna meme you.

getting the number one seed can be great because it can give you some home court advantage. plus it usually gives you one of the easier opponents to beat

It’s a gift and a curse. You benefit by playing close to your fanbase, lower seeded FBS schools are your worst enemy when playing hard. Duke may have a struggle playing those mid seed power 5 schools.
