Implying engine suppliers wouldn't spend this much money on regular engines. the v8 era was only cheapo because performance development was basically frozen on the engines, which only resulted in the high reliability and solidifying Renault as the best engine of the v8 era. Fron the v10 era the engine costs are not really representative, as the only know prices are of the engines used by the slower half of the grid (sauber, jordan, minardi, etc) because every competitive teams all were factory backed ones( ferrari, mclel, willy, renault) , where price is a really flexible matter as in some cases the whole engine development and manufacturing was part of the team

Twain asked his gypsy witch mother to do a tarrot reading and it said Lewis was going to fatally crash this season.
Nicholas Sanchez
>this is interesting, but is it a conspiracy? can you expand upon this? Merc had v6 turbohybrid in the works since 2011 (some sources say since 2010) and they threatened Bernie's FOM with quitting and got FIA abroad possibly by using more clandestine means. Lelnault, impetuous over having successful v8, ate the bait. For some reason even Ferrari got onboard this highly expensive, complicated and frankly shitty engine formula and agreed to a retarded engine token development system. Under the token system you had to spend tokens if you wanted to develop a part of the engine "to ensure no one overspends on development" t. FIA. So for example ERS would cost X tokens to develop and ICE would cost XX tokens and so on. What made it completely retarded was that after 2 years, over 50% of the engine were supposed to be closed offfrom development. If you developed closed parts, ding dong disqualification. The parts that got closed off the first year (2015) were the most crucial parts and then in 2016 the second most crucial. The token system Merc aggressively rushed through into rules ensured they had total domination from 2014 to 2016, until Ferrari literally had to get Renault and Honda onboard and say "fuck your F1 if we can't develop". The development finally opened for 2017. Part of the reason why Honda was so shit is because they missed 2014 as a development year and had a shitty ass ICE+ERS concept they couldn't develop because of the token system. The token system is also the reason why that Merc, even having an aerodynamically poor car with worst chassis of the top three, was able to carbabby from 2014 to 2016. In 2017 it got better, but still an easy year for Mercs. 2018 again saw huge gainz for all engine manufacturers except Merc.

I really loved that Bentley, even with the race modifications. Great design and a great color and still looks good today. Mercedes is also impressive in terms of technology and held up really well. To this day the W140 S600 is the only car that I have ever been in that had an electronically controlled inner rear view mirror. Seems dumb at first but it's actually really practical and it works in conjunction with the memory seats/steering wheel/wing mirror adjustments.

Their fourth place position was in jeopardy last year, it was mostly Haas' constant fuckups that saved them. I'd definitely rate Renault pretty highly this year, if for no other reason than they successfully sold Ricciardo on a seat. Might even get 3rd if Honda continues to be >Honda

2018 was actually the best year for F1 TV coverage in America since, after the disastrous first race, ESPN just aired Sky's broadcast of qualy and the race ad free (though if F1TV doesn't use David Croft as the race caller, I can absolutely understand how that can be worth paying for)

I don't even have TV anymore, all I watch is over the internet. F1TV is just Sky's broadcast, but with the added bonus of being able to tune into any car's onboard camera and radio, rather than the commentary, and also being able to turn off the commentary altogether, or turn it to another language. It's also on mobile so it's just all around more practical for me than being limited to a television set and whatever modicum of internet access ESPN would give me.
what debacle? ESPN has already announced they are going to air all the GPs ad free like last year

>If there are requirements, whether they are safety or improvement, then we act on those in conjunction with the FIA and F1 when Charlie Whiting puts down his track inspection report at the conclusion of the event. The changes, if they are at all warranted, and we will find out after Formula 1 do the work with us, they are likely to be minor in nature. The circuit is the circuit. REE NOT ENOUGH MUH RUNOFF t. Albert Park is underrated i'd probably take it over 2/3 of the other circuits on the calendar

Why are you still watching their garbage? Just stream it the way technology intended. You wouldn't be of a certain thrifty group of desert peoples by chance, would you?
Chase Bennett
waste of digits. you cant even see the new graphics theyre black on matte fuck off shillberg. im comfy as fuck watching me mums amazon account. includes espn
You can't pass on it and there are no interesting corners. In terms of pure track layout, it's worse than: Bahrain China Baku Red Bull Ring Silverstone Hockenheim Spa Monza Suzuka COTA and Interlagos. It's an entirely mediocre circuit and the Australian GP would be better served at Surfer's Paradise or Adelaide. (Or Bathurst if you want real memes)

Ahem, 507...

Don't forget Queensland Raceway
Xavier Turner
The Australian GP - as much as Bathurst would outmeme Baku - should logically be held at Phillip Island. Fucking godtier track, pretty views, close enough to a capital city for infrastructure, enough runoff to settle Charlie's nerves.
Chase Flores
Bathurst would have to be de-Bathursted if F1 wanted to race there. It's only grade 2 track.
Landon Reed
If F1 wanted to race there it would be given Grade 1 status.

Then Charlie visits and deems Forest's Elbow and Dipper too dangerous and calls Tilke to flatten it.
probably not, despite Yea Forums being a slow board
Aaron Reyes
wanna bet on it?

>Fastest lap only awards a point if they're in the top 10 Why bother? It's stupid anyway so they should have just gone full meme and let the backmarkers go nuts for it.

Benjamin Williams
Nah if it's just for F1 then the FIA will let just about anything slide (see Baku)
