You might have had a point 15 years ago, but these days with every kid having access to multiple devices with internet access, and with the ease there is to access porn, these measures are needed.

Pubs/nightclubs all bar underage from entering, and you need ID to get in. Porn should be no different. Ideally the websites themselves would have proper age verification, but the scum who run the sites obviously will not do that without legislation forcing them to do so.
