In 98 99 Real Madrid had a better team than Barcelona. Madrid had players like Roberto Carlos, Hierro, Redondo, Raul, Mijatovic, Suker, Seedorf, Karembeu, Sávio, Morientes...all players of Real. Barça had Rivaldo, Kluivert and Figo as stars plus Luis Enrique, Guardiola, Cocu, Giovanni and Anderson.
