I don't hate Liverpool. At all. I was absolutely on their side in seasons such as 2008/09 and 2013/14. I was honestly sad when The Slip happened. I remember leaving a restaurant and seeing The Slip on the news and getting sad about it.

That said, I do not support the current team of Liverpool. Why? Because they do not have the best team in England. Manchester City has. And the best coach. I am not English, I have no family ties to England, in foreign leagues I support every year whoever has the best team of the season. City happens to be the one having it this season. If Liverpool fields me a team better than City's I will gladly support them.

But in the last couple of seasons I have been wanting for Liverpool to fail, because of their supporters, who lack the humility that a team that hasn't won a league in over 20 years should have, and who claim to be the best based not on the quality of the Liverpool's team, but on outside factors. They portray themselves as the underdogs against "le ebil big moneis xd". That doesn't matter. The reason the port died is because of unions btw. They opposed building a deepwater dock because tankers user shipping crates (which require cranes rather than dockers and so would have put some of them out of work) so the trade slowly stopped coming to liverpool bc the port wasn't equipped to handle it.

By the time the unions gave in an allowed them to build a deep water dock it was too late.
