The Blake Trade changed Detroit a lot

Andre and Reggie Jackson improved a lot with Blake, Kennard is showing potential to be a solid rookie, Ish Smith is a solid bench player.They are a solid dark horse this season, and it is not a joke series.

I didn't expect to admire Blake this much, watching back on his earlier seasons he never striked me as a leader, but watching his interviews, the way the team is built around him and how he facilitates everyone around him to just be the best player they can really shows it was a great trade, Even if Tobias Harris is a top player, he was not a guy that would change Detroit's mediocrity

Warriors when locked in are by far the best team in the NBA. Bucks are really good but have little playoff experience, Raptors have a healthy shot of going to the Finals and giving the Warriors competition but not winning the series. Lakers are having an incredible run of bad luck, Lonzo Ball obviously is like the 14th best player in his draft class, he has yet to play more than 50 games in a season. Steph Curry has missed more than 20 games twice in his ten year career and is considered injury prone, Ball has already tied this mark. Brandon Ingram was just beginning to look like a legitimate two way threat and darkhorse for an all star team in a very stacked Western conference, blood clots end careers. They'll tank the rest of the season as they very well should, getting a perennial All NBA guy this offseason is a neccesity if they hope to contend, even if KD leaves the Warriors. They also badly need a legitimate rim protector.

Deandre Jordan, Nikola Vucevic and Demarcus Cousins are the only notable big men free agents this offseason and none of them should command anything close to a full max. Unfortunately for the Lakers two of those three don't have a reputation for being good defenders around the rim, Deandre Jordan has regressed defensively these past two seasons. Lebron has a reputation for improving his teammates play, although I'm not sure how deserved that is, so maybe he motivates Jordan to step up on that end with a championship pursuit in sights. I think Lebron's ability to get the best out of his teammates is overblown though, Javale McGee went from an early DPOY candidate to playing like a genuine scrub pretty quickly after running out of steam and a bout of pneumonia. Have to ask yourself at this point are the Lakers cursed? This could be cosmic retribution for passing up Jerry West.

I played guard the entire time I was coming up so unless vision goes with age (it doesn’t) I’m confident in today’s 5 out game when every single player on the court at any given time and id play center can shoot that doubling me would be worse than trying to play man.
