Of course not, he's fucking off to Italy to let it burn Pete Carroll-style

It's amazing how no one really cared about City before because they were a poorly managed club with money but now with Pep absolutely dominating and turning the club into a force, everyone is whining.
It's pathetic. I understand now what that guy meant by saying all this is from the clubs used to winning who want everything to stay the same and don't want things to change.

what exactly is it that pep has done at city that pellegrini and mancini didn't?

dominate.

FFP is a racket, I dont even know how it can be legal

why would it not be "legal" for uefa to implement whatever rules they like in their own competitions?

Both times City won the league prior to Pep were from United and Liverpool crumbling huge leads
Last year "your" league was turned into La Liga north, that's without taking into account the dominance in their play style but you'd have to watch them to know, otherwise you wouldn't ask retarded questions

teams have won the league by large margins before
especially when they've bought the league

>Both times City won the league prior to Pep were from United and Liverpool crumbling huge leads
If they do it this year it will be the same story.

The league is significantly stronger than when Mancini or Pellegrini won it. If it wasn't for City then this Liverpool side could easily set the point record

Because UEFA isnt a legal authority and most countries, including the EU, have antitrust laws

>le psg face

Break every record possible, except finishing a season unbeaten

This year they had the lead, dominated and then fell apart and have regained the lead after applying pressure. No one was even thinking of City the other times so it's not the same.
This season has been more like Barcelona and real in a race for the title England edition

UEFA is just a Gestapo for the most corrupted clubs in europe. They're enforcement goons for the traditional elite.

Not even, but I'd gladly have an oil country take my club away from the murderous polish fuck that currently owns it

i don't know what this means, why would uefa not be allowed to implement whatever rules they like in the competitions that they host?

>why would uefa not be allowed to implement whatever rules they like in the competitions that they host?
Are you daft? Do you think you can make your own football tournament in which you can rape the participants wives, and nobody could say shit to you because the participants agreed to it? No, because it's illegal.
Antitrust laws prevent cartels from forming and preventing fair competition. According to most laws, investing your own money is considered fair competition.

His argument is retarded, why even reply?
Everyone is having a decent discussion an he's arguing like a woman. This guy is right

no i think you can make your own tournament where you can implement spending caps and it's not illegal at all

all of europe's rugby leagues (including the lnr) have salary caps

Is the salary cap related to how much money clubs currently make, or is it the same for everyone? Are clubs forbidden to invest money in the club besides players salary?

Manchester United won 3 back to backs twice in last 2 decades and countless back to backs. Chelsea have a back to back in that same period. Calm down about Pep. Let’s see if he can pull a back to back off.

It’s not even worth going into dominance of playstyles when Madrid has won the last 3 CLs and Pep’s style hasn’t won in a long time.

the top four (six) were not as competitive and how you dominate does matter. the drawvincibles would be tossed around by the current top four

the european court have already ruled that ffp isn't "illegal"

the only defence these oil clubs have is that they have deeper pockets than uefa and can drag court procedures out across years which uefa can't afford

Oh please. The reason why City hasn’t won back to backs is only because of Chelsea, who guess what (their style of play) won the more recent CL while Pep and his copied styles hasn’t won. Guess what, Leicester also played very similar to Chelsea. Madrid is also a decent counter attacking team.

You are just fooled by the over rating of “possession” football and claim its dominance. It hasn’t been dominant in a long time.

T. Mansour al Hilal al Khatami

>their style of play
You mean being extremely fortunate along the way and being completely dominated by Bayern in the final and having the luck of the Irish?
Stick to liverpoo posting

FFP was to stop filthy Arabs from buying clubs, dumping 6 gorillion into them and then getting bored and offloading them the way they do with their puppies

That’s when you are argument fails. (Man, Pep was so lucky that teams didn’t play counter pressing style when Barca won those CLs and at that time, wing play and striker centric teams were the norm which possession football nullified. )

Now, that counter pressing styles and counter attacking teams are dominating the CL, you hang onto “luck” or “It’s because of Ronaldo” as the factor.

Chelsea’s recent PL/CL wins + Madrid’s CL + Leicester PL win are not lucky.

When City won it United lost 6-1 to them at Old Trafford. Goal difference won them the league. It was tight, but I wouldn't say United slipped

ffp was pulling up the ladder simple as

Bunch of kids in this thread. Do yourselves a favor and go read up on the history of Real Madrid and Barcelona. Your "traditions" are built on greed, corruption and abuse of power. You people really think this big clubs all come from nice football and hard work? How naive can you possibly be?

>he-he-he was lucky teams didn't play like I claim
>turning the premier league into la liga north only happened because they didn't listen to me
Poo, please

>la liga north
thats the second time
once more and ill show you the door

>the european court have already ruled that ffp isn't "illegal"
No that's not really what they said, it just hasn't been properly challenged right ahead until now because no ones wants to spend that much money into going against the UEFA, which as been blocked in the past in implementing aspects of FFP by european court. Besides:

One season. He’s won one title. City has been 2nd for most of this season and only a point ahead now. No CL win, not even a finals appearance since 2010. If that’s your definition of dominance, It’s a very weird one.

Btw, Chelsea has been the most dominant in the PL after United. 3 wins in the last decade, same as City’s.

Atletico Manchester United

>Now, that counter pressing styles and counter attacking teams are dominating the CL,
Mostly thanks to rule interpretation. They get to foul and scrag constantly, hoping for the quick turnover... but never get a yellow card for it. Meanwhile the possession team fouls someone on the turnover and ref gives a yellow because muh attacking opportunity.

Why do we talk about whatever happened in the 2000s while United has become a total joke by now to the point people rather play them than Ajax?

>the top four (six) were not as competitive

>Liverpool won the 2004-05 CL
>Arsenal was a runner up in the 2005-06 CL
>Liverpool was a runner up in 2006-07 CL
>Chelsea was a runner up in the 2007-08
>Chelsea barely lost to Pep's Barca with refball help in the 2007-09 CL Semi-Finals

Spurs and City were not as good back then but the Top 4 were way better, not debatable

the top four now would dance around the top four then. tired of the nostalgia from kids who weren't even ten then

You are kidding me right? Did you not watch Barca’s and Spain’s press? How do you think they gained possession back and kept a high defensive line? They harried, pressed, surrounded, nibbled the opposition midfield player with the ball with 2-3 midfield and fullback players to prevent the midfielder from releasing the ball and gain back the ball to keep possession. They did the same thing counter press teams do and interpreted the rules for their benefit. Everyone extends the rules to win.

The difference is that the counter pressing teams press the oppostion’s keeper and defender to make them chuck it, gain possession in midfield and counter attack from there itself. That’s why it’s called a counter press. The press begins before the opponent can even start pressing in midfield.

They have come back. Came 2nd in PL last season and beat PSG now.

Is it confirmed he's moving to juve? That's crazy

No they wouldn’t. Spurs/Liverpool haven’t won anything for a long time.

The top 4 then were winners. United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool won something or the other and had regular Ballon dor nominees.

City is about to get rekt hard for all of their illegal activities. This is why you're suddenly seeing reports about pep going to juventus - he's making preparations when the hammer finally comes down to get the fuck out. I thought maybe he'd go back to barca though

>he actually believes UEFA & the PL will do anything

>Chelsea barely lost to Pep's Barca with refball help in the 2007-09 CL Semi-Finals
Can we stop with this meme? Abidal was unfarly sent off but no one ever mentions it

>Pep manages in 3 year terms before leaving
>3rd year as city manager

He's legally forbidden from joining Barcelona again as a manager.

>The difference is that the counter pressing teams press the oppostion’s keeper and defender to make them chuck it, gain possession in midfield and counter attack from there itself.
Yes and they get away with being excessively rough. In that situation, the pressing team gives away fouls in the opponents half that always go unpunished (because far from goal) but it's bs. That's the key area where a team being pressed can break open the play and launch their own attack.

Point is, giving tactical yellows is all down to interpretation and refs are still using the old method. So these full pressing teams are getting an advantage by never being carded.

The point is, Barca/Spain did the exact same thing, just in midfield. The excessive part is winning the ball back when the ball is chucked, usually takes a 50-50 header or just speed in the midfield. Klopp’s style always has tall/workhorses in midfield. 50/50 challenges are not unlawful because the ball is in the air or ground and no one has possession at that point.

Counter press looks rough because of the speed at which it all, defense and attack takes place. The way Barca/Spain did it doesn’t look as rough because when they won the ball back after a press, they would just pass it around, back to the defenders and stuff.

Why does city keeps having FFP problems but PSG doesnt?

Winners then, they would be humiliated today, Liverpool alone would run through those sides. You little fags who grew up with pokemon and your delusional nostalgia is always entertaining

Kek

Seething French clubs don't have the same power the assblasted seething English clubs have

my fucking sides zoomers are confidently retarded

I'm not saying Barca didn't exploit things either, but generally they won the ball back by clever swarming, not through 50-50 physicality.

These pressing teams are playing rough because they know the ref doesn't usually give yellows far from goal. It used to be dangerous to do a full press because of all the space you'd leave, but the team makes sure to foul now so you can never break through.

I'm just saying that small diffs in interpretation go along way to determining which play-style is succesful. You start giving a couple yellows, and suddenly the heavy metal press ain't worth it.

>zoomers
You're a child,I could be your father
You're a bunch of nostalgic kids who think you're different from the kids now, you were babies watching Pokemon. Stop pretending you really watched anything back then

City were hated before Pep arrived...

Here’s a lesson in football. The only team that can defeat the top 4 back then is City because possession football dominated all English teams ie Barca. Liverpool’s counter press and Spurs counter attack won’t work against United’s wing play and Chelsea’s defensive 5. It’s not a question of years passed, it’s a question of style of play.

If you want a definite answer, yes all present 20 teams can dominate that top 4 because only Salah, Ox, and some other players remain. Everyone else is 40/50 years old now.

Teams counter press now because there aren’t teams playing with fast wingers + Pure finishers and physical defensive back 4 anymore. Everyone shifted to a counter press/possession style to counteract the dominance of Barca. Press works so good because possession teams can’t play with strong tall strikers and pacy wingers that use the space left in behind.

It’s not because of rule interpretation.

Teams played rough back then too. Tough back 4 that would kick the life out of small 9s. Tough defensive midfield to kick out the 10s. Just because one touch possession football exploited the lack of technical ability doesn’t mean they aren’t weak against other styles.

That’s why you’re complaining because possession football isn’t dominating. It’s not dominating because the physicality moved from the back 4 to the front 5 now.

>clever swarming, not through 50-50 physicality.
Most counter pressing sides are thoroughly coached in setting traps and targeting space and players to limit options teams have available. It's not just units running into the back of a player, putting studs on his achilles constantly.

Why is Qatar hosting the next world cup and the UAE hasn't even been in the conversation about doing stuff like that?

>tf
>tp
Holy fucking shit kill yourself amerishit. City has been hated before poop and for the same reasons.

I think he’s complaining about what happens when the trap results in a long ball from defense and the back 4/midfield use their body to run into back of people to win headers and wrap around the legs of the opponent to win the ball back when it’s in space.

That hurts the possession football teams because they play with small forwards and small 10s that don’t have the physicality to hold them off. He thinks the refs are too lienient because the 50/50s happen in midfield.

success breeds jealousy my friend

....

UAE are too busy building skyscrapers

Not the same way, it was a poorly managed club no one bothered with. Now it's just seething envy at their dominance

you're just very wrong
attitudes towards city haven't changed at all; if anything they're more preferred now because they play nice football. they've been a nothing money club since they were bought and more so since they first won the league under mancini

yeah basically this. i think its an exploitation because refs think a tactical yellow should only be given on fouls close to goal/attacking opportunity.... but attacks happen from anywhere in modern football. if a CB like luiz can ping an assist from 60 yards, why can he be fouled all day on a press?

and against a full press, the most important part in breaking it happens in your half. this means the pressers can take licence in being physical.

and even having a physical no9 makes no difference... how often do you see the defender who kicks/pushes from behind given a yellow? never. why should they get free reign to stop an offensive move?

not saying this is cheating but it's definitely being exploited

I'm not. No one cared much, Chelsea were hated over the money the same way but they were well run and won which then over the years led to more bandwagoners and now everyone pretends they werent the same
Even City's signings in the past were a joke, bunch of Arsenal overpriced shit etc

Nah mate. You know how Chelsea is viewed now? Plastic club with plastic flags. City is just Chelsea 2.0, Everyone has seen this story unfold. To be hated is to be United/Liverpool. One chased down Liverpool on titles and the other is the most successful English club in Europe.

I’d say Chelsea/City would start being hated if they reach United CL tally.

Liverpool CL tally and United/Liverpool league title tally is out of reach for decades to come.

Maybe City will go out and get Mourinho/Zidane to get their CL tally better.

You can’t find a balance in keeping tackling in the game to help possession teams while making it harder for pressing teams to tackle. Because boundaries will keep being pushed. You take out hard going through the legs tackle out of the game, players become less tough/more technical but make way for physical teams to have even more influence in other ways because opponents got physically weaker.

At some point everyone will go back to being physical again, ie, the way things are going in Europe now.

You can beat counter press teams by having 2 physical strikers like Rooney/Tevez, Torres/Kuyt, Drogba/Anelka etc with pacy wingers and driving midfielders.

Tried and tested. Just out of fashion for now.

Kill yourself scatalan scum.
Go choke on Ovrebo's nuts.
