Why is it so easy for divegrass players to handpick the team they’re traded to?

Why is it so easy for divegrass players to handpick the team they’re traded to?

Don’t make this a muh Amerifats or muh footy 2deep4u bullshit thread.

Like in American sports, you don’t see “LeBron demands trade to warriors”. No, he opted out of his contract and signed with the lakers. Or with leveon bell. He wanted a trade or megade. He got neither so he literally sat the entire season, the equivalent of girezemann sitting out the season. Why so divegrass players get to bitch until they “get traded” to the team they want.

it happens in the NBA too

I can't tell if this thread is serious.

Because unlike amerifat "sports" the players aren't obliged to sign with a team, isn't a slave to the league and is not something you can move from one city to another in exchange for another slave. Did DeRozan want to move to Texas? Of course not, but because it's either 'go to Texas or starve because you spent all your money on whores and you'll never find a job in this sport' he went.

Footballers are given rights the same as any other worker in this country. Thus a footballer can never be forcibly traded to any club, they have to sign a contract with a new team. That is why.

Soccity-socc players aren't traded. They have their contracts terminated, with the selling club getting a 'transfer fee' as a compensation, and then they get to sign a new contract altogether at their new club.

they end up like sala though flying some dingy plane by a part time dentist

A player's contract is a negotiation between the club and the player themself (usually via their agent). Why wouldn't they be able to have a major say in which club they end up at?

Although if you're suggesting that players should be forced to stay at a club until their contract runs out, that's what happens. Usually when a player transfers between two clubs whilst their contract is still valid, it means the two clubs have agreed a transfer fee to cover the remainder of that player's contract.

because amerifat players are slaves to a corporation while soccer players are their own human

in america the league is way more against tampering and stuff like that the FIFA.

Clubs are in constant talks with agents during the season, so the player knows his options

Literally none of you answered my questions. I follow divegrass. I only understand why they get to hand pick the teams they go to

And yeah for the guy who mentioned derozan, he didn’t terminate his contract and then sign. Like I’m just reading up on the other Isco thread. How come he gets to pick Man City. Like fuck off Antonio demanded a trade and almost got sent to the fucking Bills yesterday. How come amerifats don’t see “breaking: Harper demands trade to dodgers” or some bullshit

OP taking his shitposting talents to Yea Forums.

tf,tp: the thread

>employees shouldn't be allowed to choose where they work
Imagine being this cucked.

Clubs contact players' agents to make their interest known, then a player might say he wants to go. Players don't just randomly pick a team without reason. You might follow this sport but you clearly don't understand it

Soccer players aren’t traded. They’re bought and sold with real money. That’s the difference. A lot of them have buy-out clauses in their contract. If a player really wants to leave, and another team has come up with a sufficient transfer sum for them, then a club would be stupid not to sell.

In the US the entire league is the company.
In Europe, the club is the company.

Freedom aint free I guess. Amazing how united-statian sports are a socialist dictatorship.

I’ve never understood why U.S sports arnt as hyper capitalistic as European football is.

Their whole approach to professional sport seems to be much more equal and almost socialist. The bottom teams getting first choice during drafts and all. Contrast that to the premier league where the money is outrageous and the top 6 clubs take anyone they want from the rest.

>united-statian

>Like in American sports, you don’t see “LeBron demands trade to warriors”.
No but you see Anthony Davis demanding a trade to the Lakers.

aSOCCiation football is an oligopoly. The richest teams will buy the most talented players. Hence it's usually a match made in hell because the players are going for the highest possible salary. Only kids, as well as slave mentality people which most Europeans still are believe there is some sort of magical connection between RichTeam4 and StrongPlayer71.

I agree absolutely, allegedly it's for parity but we see how that plays out, ie it doesn't

European sports are fundamentally different in their structure. Each club is entirely independent, there is no real revenue sharing (other than tv money), and player transactions are literally a matter of buying and selling. There are no trades, there is no draft. Every youth prospect is free to choose any team he wants. You literally cannot be forced to go to a different team without your consent.

>traded
So it's true after all
Your sports leagues are just replacement for slavery

With the exception of baseball (which emerged more or less organically from city clubs run by rich guys in the late 1800s, just like English soccer), all the big American sports were business ventures that had to be carefully guided and marketed to appeal to the American public. A huge part of that was enforcing parity and propping up failing teams in important markets. A league-wide strategy was absolutely necessary.

If football embraced the old-school every man for himself model, the league would have folded during the great depression. One of the most popular teams in the country, the Green Bay Packers, only exists because a wealthier team's owner funded the shit out of them and begged the other owners to let them stay in the league despite having no money at all. Now look at them.

Not at all. The big 4 leagues all operate as single entities, the teams are called "franchises" for a reason. The players are all part of the same union, the owners are all part of the same organization with a commissioner. Under the contract that NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL players sign, a "trade" isn't literally trading employers. It's the equivalent of being moved from one apartment to another within a corporation. If you don't like it, you're free to quit. Of course the problem with the NFL especially is that it's the only way to make money as a football player, so you could argue it's a kind of slavery.

Yeah that's fucking gay bro, literally indefensible

I can sort of understand it from the PoV of a small market fan. Like if I was from Kansas City or Pittsburgh, the Royals and Pens don't win anything in a total free market system.

I'm an Atlanta sports fan in general and yeah it's still gay

He did kind of answer your question. In a lot of pro sports in America you aren't trading players you are trading their contracts. In soccer those players sign new contracts with their new clubs. If they don't want to play they don't sign a contract. In the USA they have already signed the contract.

This is why any sport career modes outside of FIFA are nigh incomprehensible to me. What the fuck is this salary cap bullshit and all this extra shit tacked on, it should just be do I have enough to buy this player and pay him his contract jesus

It is a burden of collective bargaining. Just look at baseball. It hurts the game seeing that kid from the Blue jays get held back. And mookie betts is still in arbitration. I hardly can make sense of baseballs union structure.

Americans don't know what workers rights are, they don't exist there and they think all unions are evil.

socialist scum

Handegg has no big stars, except for the qauterbacks and a few exceptional players. I could not name the 3 third big nigger in the patriots. While dive grass players are rather starts, than athletes. Like when Fergie wanted to sell Beckham to Barcelona for reasons, but he made a quick call to Florentino changed the situation. Because Beckham had such a big brand, he could do it.

Tried managing in the MLS in FM. It totally lost me

Thread

Considering the impact they have on competitiveness and production in an industry, I would argue that the majority of unions are unnecessary. I mean, look at the majority of assembly lines in American now - the majority of assembly line workers are protected by state of the art safety equipment, and any lines that lack those lines are naturally paid more by those same private industries. The free market actually can take care of itself, contrary to whatever Keynesian bullshit you think is true

I don’t see the difference at all. NBA players for example can become free agents and choose a team just like soccer players. NBA players can ask for a trade to a team just like soccer players can ask for a trasfer.

Kyrie irving asked for a trade and went to one of the richest clubs in Boston Celtics. Dwight Howard asked for a trade and went to LA with one year left on his contract etc etc. Which is what happened with Ronaldo.

Where’s the difference? The only difference is the rich clubs can stockpile players but US sport teams are bound by a salary cap. There is way more drama is US sports.

American league is literally one team with different franchises, the players are tied to the company if you piss of a boss you are fucked because they all work for the same company.

football teams are independent entities that get together in federations so a player can actually look for work at another company and they give him an interview, discuss salary what are his long term goals etc, americans can't do that because is like they work for mcdonalds distribuited in different cities.

On the other hand the average NBA/MLB player earns alot more money than the average Football player from the 4 biggest leagues in Europe.

this + add the fact that handegg, fighting on ice skates, niggersqueak and boreball have monopolized leagues meaning players have no option to switch leagues.

But as the user said, the agent is the go-between, a club first declares interest and it is confirmed they will bid reasonably/"reasonably"/(((reasonably))) enough, after which the player's agent can leak a few stories to the press about the player being unhappy at the club and this can be a catalyst to a move. Very few players used to go full tantrum mode (fortnite playing zoomers like Fishface Kebab Ozil / Alexis Sanchez nonwithstanding) openly go into full tantrum mode, as this may negatively affect their reputation.

All the American leagues are going to be like this in less than five years. NBA is already there.

Because they aren't slaves and whenever they change employers, they sign a whole new contract with them, just like in the real world.

Firstly props to you for when attempting that and secondly props to the FM devs for actually implementing it. Pretty sure playing MLS in FIFA is just normal buying and selling my team, atl united that just won the league sold one of our best players to Newcastle for 25 million. I have no idea how that money will be distributed.

It seems to me, as someone who watches barely any US sports and mostly follows EU soccer, the NBA is the closest to the euro model at least in it's globalization. Sometimes you'll see NBA teams farm their players out to Spain, but you'll never see that in any of the other big US sports

Because the clubs offer the player a contract, and he either signs the contract or doesn't. If he doesn't then another club will offer him a contract if he's any good.
What's so tough to understand about this? Of course a player should have the right to decide where he's going to be living and working for the next several years.

Well, a couple of years back the NHL held a strike and a bunch of North American stars signed on loan to the biggest Kontinental Hockey League/KHL in Europe, many central europeans and Russians/Nordics ventured to the NHL, but not so many North Americans ventured back.
Also NBA have the wider option because it's the second most popular sport in Spain, the Baltics and the Balkans, so there are minor options to go abroad to a team that might afford your wages.
MLB has a very limited following outside the US, and Central Latin American infrastructure is not competitive enough to compete wage-wise, and American Football you are fucked since Strayan/NZ and Rugby League/Union are completely different sports, and even Canadians have their own localised ruleset.

But the biggest drawback with a monopolized league is that teams would be less willing to screw your opponents during a player signing since that would disrupt the status qui.

>Status qui
Fucking late night phoneposting, i meant quo

Basically because of the salary caps. Which is why you see more big name moves in baseball than any of the other north american pro sports.

What you are mentioning is how clubs punish players and look out for their own interests first. It happens in soccer if the player doesn’t train hard enough or disrespects the coach, he gets sent to the u23s, loaned out and frozen out.

It doesn’t happen in transfers because clubs don’t want a reputation of being vindictive as that may stop other stars from joining them. It will soon happen in NFL, MLB etc. It has been already happening in the NBA. Shaq, Gasol, Love, Dwight, Irving etc etc.

> the free market can Take care of itself
Americans are truly stupid

Local unions are fine. National unions in the US are almost invariably cancer, the teachers union being the worst of all

Pretty much all of the best countries in the world have economies that are more free than the USA’s

Don't judge this thread truthfully because it'll hurt my fee fees

Workers rights have nothing to do with a free market you complete brainlet

Referring to your comment about unions, dipshit, or do you really believe that those don't affect micro- and macroeconomies at all? Get the syrup out of your brain.

You're doing nothing but proving me right, brainlet.

Enjoy your boom-bust cycle

Unions in the USA have a history of being literal mafia fronts

Haha yes, well said comrade, fuck free market and bolsonaro :^)

If the player is truly world class any team would want them.
If they're not they usually just pretend that they always wanted to go to the team they were transferred to because they support them since they were a wee bairn

Name literally one example of this happening because I literally don't know what the fuck you're on about and you seem mentally ill
