If there was one unified soccer league Americans would be a lot more interested. All these different leagues are gay as fuck. Notice how Americans interest picks up during the world cup. One tournament with the best players. Same reason ufc is taking over boxing. Nobody gives a fuck about 8 belts for every weight class. Fuck soccer if you want to fix it make one fucking league
>inb4 hurr durr americans dont get it or hurr durr we dont want you to like it anyway
America is an economic and athletic superpower every athlete and club would benefit from American inclusion. And that will never happen because yuros cant get their shit together like America

there is one unified soccer league in america. nobody outside of america cares if you watch their league or not, in fact many are glad you have nothing to do with it.

It is a hypothetical so it should be in the subjunctive mood

What a faggot ass response

You can watch the CL, user.

>better competition
I don't see how that follows
>massively more momey
a lot of major european leagues, especially england's, get tons of money from the usa already. but china, japan, etc. are more easily tapped into because their markets aren't as oversaturated with made-for-tv sporting events already
the point is that your opinion doesn't matter

What the Greek said, OPConsider European leagues of each country a regular season, except the playoff contenders play minor league teams.
CL is the playoffs, for the real best teams in Europe.

Good. Modern football is bad enough, getting americans more involved would be the deathblow.

Hello non-American friends

I'll assume you're all new here as not one of you has followed the standard procedure for when an American makes a post/thread about football. Allow me to teach you how to deal with this situation in the future.

So you've encountered a confused and angry American posting inane and dangerous opinions on a subject they know nothing about? don't panic and don't try to educate them as you will only encourage them to continue. All you need to do is reply to them with the three short lines of text below and you will improve Yea Forums for not only yourself but everybody else as well.

Opinion discarded.

If its not just an American post within a football related thread but an actual football related thread started by an American, just change the third line of text from "Opinion discarded." to "Opinion discarded, thread closed and hidden.".

If you've accidently read an American post/thread about football and find yourself in agreement with what they have posted, remind yourself of the infinite monkey theorem and follow the standard procedure.

Feel free to save this post to teach other new friends in the future and remember... only YOU can prevent Americans ruining football.

This desu. Football is among the few things in the world that are not Americanised, and that's what makes it decent.

>Discard all opinions, even good ones, just because we hate America

how will a bunch of fat yanks watching at home over a 4 litre bottle of coke improve competition?
and why do you think this sport needs even more money? what good is that going to do?

MLS is already a top 5 league, within a decade it overtakes the premier league

>British guy doesn't understand economics
Sad!

If you read these threads they are legit terrified that we will overtake their sport one day. Many of thrm now openly admit it.

The fix you've suggested has been suggested over and over and over again, and is seen by some as inevitable. You're talking about a pan european super league, and every few years the major clubs threaten to breakaway to form one. UEFA and the other administrative bodies are dead set against it, believing it will do too much damage to the major leagues (seriea, la liga, premier league, etc), as are european football fans, who believe it will make the game too commercialised and lock many europeans out of access to their clubs (via high ticket prices, pay per view, etc). Fans outside of europe, such as OP and myself, are all for superleague, as we are locked out of the club scene anyway. For example, I support Bayern, my 11 year old barcelona. I've never seen them play in person, and have to stream games from a phone app to my tv. Thats the reason why the super league seems obvious to us but contentious to europeans, the status quo is good for european fans who have easy access to elite football. Also a super league would be unlikely to include a promotion relegation system, so it would hurt minor clubs like ac milan, internationale, benfica and ajax that would have no path to footballs biggest table.
Honestly, I'd be in favour of a super league with promotion relegation, and even an american style draft to eliminate half a billion euro transfers like ronaldo's.

>Yanks arguing for making modern football even more plastic than it already his
Also if you want a competition with the best teams in it there's already the champions league. You wouldn't have the attention span to watch a normal football league without direct elimination anyway

how players will travel all around the world during one season? we dont have portal technology yet
btw the CWC is already a failure and FIFA is going to change it soon

No need for pro/rel. The first pro sports league in the world (our baseball) has done fine on richfag club owners keeping between themselves and any additional teams expanding the league.
I assume the yuros who hate the super league idea would stop supporting their local big club if they got relegated to the second tier for some reason.

That doesn't answer the question about what even more money is going to do to improve this sport

European super league travel is totally feasible.

Attached: USA-and-Europe-Overlay.png (760x634, 173K)

t. sudacapoor

what? but Uefa Champions League is played by 32 teams and Europa League by another 54

Promotion relegation is the best thing about football though. Its a fantastic idea. Its one thing they really got right. Under the american system getting the wooden spoon gives you a first round draft pick. Under the european system you get relegated, theres an actual punishment to sucking. A combination of both systems, where the newly promoted team gets a cash prize and a first round draft pick of a star player, and the worst team gets demoted the best system imo.

no answer, just as I thought
money is an end to you cunts, rather than a means

Well look at it this way. In the end the clubs are businesses. Manchester United doesnt want to play Dynamo Zygrieb in the CL, they'd rather play bayern twice. More ticket sales, and it sells for more on tv, more add revenue. You might not see how money would make the sport better, and you may be right, but its not up to you. The clubs are going to behave like a business, and will seek to maximise their profits. That makes a super league long term inevitable. You may as well get on board now.

Right, if I owned a club and was set to profit from it then yes I'd likely want it to happen. But I don't so there's nothing positive about it for me or any other fan whatsoever.

Fuck off amerishits no one cares about you

Soccer is my escape from American bullshit
Please stay the fuck away from it and watch niggers dominate your sports instead
Leave soccer for the whites

If you're a football fan from outside europe (and frankly, most of them are), superleage makes more sense. I have a mate who loves psg, another who loves juventus, i go for bayern. Under super league, those teams will play each other twice a year guaranteed. With the champions league, psg may not even make it out of the group stage and we wouldnt see our teams play at all. A sporting event as large as the super league would definitely be evailable on national television, meaning we would be guaranteed to see our teams play each other twice a year, replayed at a time where we can watch, instead of waiting for premier league on optus sports. Sometimes, i think you european fans dont realise how good you have it. You dont think super league is a good idea because you assume that most of a clubs fans live in europe. These clubs are global brands now, most of barca and man u's fans are nowhere near europe, and we deserve the opportunity to watch our teams play against each other without having to wake up at 3am. We want the exposure to football you have had for years.

you mad whiteboi?

Attached: France-v-Luxembourg-FIFA-2018-World-Cup-Qualifiers.jpg (615x409, 70K)

Is CL really the best when dynamo zagreb makes it in and tottenham hotspur doesnt?

You know that team actually couldn't fucking beat Luxembourg, right? And they actually almost lost when Luxembourg hit the bar in injury time

you're not a fan you're a customer, we don't owe you exposure to anything so fuck off

If you want to see it that way fine, but understand, you are a customer to. Football is bigger than just europe now, its the only true world game. Or would you prefer to be like america, ignoring the world outside your borders, europe as a special snowflake with its own snowflake game?

nah, no to super league.

Is there a sports league in the United States, whose Attendance is much lower than that of Major League Soccer?

Non-Europeans deserve nothing from European football. Go support your local club, you plastic piece of steaming shit.

Lol check out this clown right here

This. Yuros love to shit on americans for being so nationalist but shy away from a global stage. Irony

Its not. If that were true the world cup wouldn’t be the biggest event in soccer

Go watch the Ramsey Street Rovers or whoever, you cunt

What are you guys talking about? Their leagues are globalized. Players from everywhere play in their teams.

Pic related is the team at the top of the table in the Premier league

Attached: man city.jpg (652x389, 220K)

Ya several
You missed the entire premise of this thread you retard

The thread is dumb. There's already a tournament where the best teams in Europe (teams currently with best players in the world) face each other. It's called the champions league.
Btw you should be supporting your own league and watching MLS

top zozzle

If you want football watch your own league and support your local team, otherwise fuck off filthy customer.

I dont want “my own league”. There should only be one league. Where the best compete

It’s called champions league

No, no one wants one league. Is there one league in basketball? No, the US has the best league in the world but we have a league too. They have a league in spain, philippines, etc..

It's the same thing in football (soccer) the difference being that there are more countries that can produce top talent so there are more "NBAs". They are in Europe. The best players in the world from all the world are in there.
Then on top of that there is the Champions league which is
>It is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football, played by the national league champions (and, for some nations, one or more runners-up) of the strongest UEFA national associations.

Yes. There is the nba. That is undisputedly the league. You cant honestly compare euro leagues to the nba thats an absolute joke

USA shouldve just completely give up on football (or soccer as they like to call it)
stop trying so hard

Attached: 1551971552454.jpg (498x668, 69K)

I can't compare the sport with largest talent pool in the galaxy to your local sport that only you country and 10 foreigners play?

If you think yuros have a larger basketball talent pool than America you need to close the tab and walk into traffic

Nice reading comprehension hue

I was obviously talking about football. Football has more countries that practice it. Truly global. Basketball is mostly practiced in the US and barely by other countries. It isn't the same situation.

You said it in an ambiguous way so I misunderstood. Firstly I wasn't comparing leagues. I said that the US one was the best but more countries have leagues and I also didn't only mention euro leagues so you confused me. It's easy for the US to have the best league because it's you sport that only you practice seriously

Attached: sports.jpg (825x465, 244K)

What is this rambling nonsense? Fuck outta here rudypoo

What does multiple countries have to do with anything? How does this change anything about a super league

Stick to fategg yanks. Nobody wants sports advice from a nation that plays sports that are all shit.

Gotta go slow with you guys, huh

BASKETBALL:
MANY COUNTRIES HAVE LEAGUES BUT ONLY ONE COUNTRY PLAY THE SPORT SERIOUSLY SO EVERYONE GOOD IS THERE...

FOOTBALL:
TRULY GLOBAL SPORT WHERE THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE STRONG LEAGUE. NOWADAYS THE EUROPEAN LEAGUES ARE STACKED WITH PLAYERS FROM EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD

imagine if other countries become on par with the US in basketball. What are you gonna do? Are you going to merge the leagues?

You mentioned the UFC (name of the sport is MMA) but back in the day there were two popular evens in the world: UFC in the US and PRIDE in japan

>For ten years PRIDE was one of the most popular MMA organizations in the world.

They had some problems and then sold to the ufc

Maybe you should listen to the nation that dominates every fucking olympics

>What are you gonna do? Are you going to merge the leagues?
This is exactly what the nba did when there was another good league you fucking idiot

China always win a lot of medals in the olympics and they are shit at serious sports. What are they good at? Ping pong?

Attached: figures.jpg (768x504, 40K)

Nobody cares about the Olympics Bret

another good league where? In the US? If yes then it's not the same thing

Why is it not the same? It’s exactly the same. Are you saying logistically it wouldnt work because thats just plain false

>people are genuinely arguing in this shitposting thread

Attached: dassides.jpg (634x709, 128K)

Brett. With two ts

Dude, they haven't merged the leagues even in the UK. There's a scottish premiership and the English premier league there.

I know. Yuros are stupid. Thats why i made this thread. And now here i am talking to you, who is also stupid

You are extremely stupid. You can't understand something even after people explain it to you 200 times

I'm aware of that. I'm phone-posting.
The point still stands

It hasn’t been explained once lol. Youre a fucking retard

Why is your reading comprehension so poor?
>Unifying competing leagues within the same country a la NBA - ABA = ok
>Unifying leagues from different countries = not good
Is that simple enough for you? If you want to see the best clubs compete with the other best clubs from other countries in a playoff style competition, then watch the champions League. The idea you're proposing already exists.

lmao what? By what metric is it a top 5 league?

>A breakaway European Super League would have “serious and lasting implications” for the long-term sustainability of professional football, a group representing more than 900 clubs in 25 countries across Europe has warned.

>However the Association of European Leagues has condemned the idea, saying it strongly opposed the “creation of any ‘closed and franchised style’ Super League”. In a statement the association also reiterated its support for Uefa, the European football governing body, and the current pyramid structure, in which promotion and relegation and the sporting merits of clubs are at the core of every competition.

>“Domestic football is at the heart of the game throughout Europe for all football stakeholders: players, clubs, leagues, national associations and, more importantly, fans,” it added. “Proposals for a closed Super League will have serious and lasting implications for the long-term sustainability of professional football in Europe.

>a massive influx of ''''''''''''''american talent'''''''''''''''''

I loved this thread

This.
/thread

I . . .dont understand why an imaginary line drawn through land called a border should automatically mean that two leagues exist.

Messi is brown?

You only assume i dont. I DO support the newcastle jets. I was at the stadium when Riley McGree scorpion kicked the goal that shortlisted him as a goal of the year contender. I was also there when we lost the final due to an offside goal from melbourne thst was not picked up due to a technical VAR failure. I was even there for the clubs very first game in the new a-league over 10 years ago. I just support bayern as well. If i liked american football, would i watch australian teams play or stream the patriots where i can see the elites play.

Yeah fuck borders and shit. Countries aren't real. We're all one big country called planet Earth brutha. One love. Peace.

The shit Champions League.

Champions league is really not the best teams. Absolute minnows from weaker leagues like benfica get in, while the 6th ranked premier league team, say hotspur, does not. That makes no sense. Also because of the group format, the elite teams typically dont all get to play each other. Super league, hopefully with a promotion relegation model, would be way better.

Based leaf.
Cringe mutt.

Well your jesting but its true. They have no objective reality. Why is it good thst the NBA can buy out a competitor league when in one country, or the AFL and NFL merge for handegg, but not good that the scottish premier league and english premier league merge? Because of a line drawn on a map and a big wall built by roman emperor hadrian 2 millenia ago? I'm sorry, but that makes no sense to me. Who cares that scotland is a different country, the rules of football are the same in both. I would have loved to see the old firm in the premier league back when they were still good. Their derby would have been a great addition to the comp.

Oh no. Please like us America. Please undo 100+ years of individual football cultures so that we can have more TV customers further ruin the game for the actual fans. We want a single stagnant league like you have in the US, it's always been a dream for the thousands of professional clubs around the world to be cucked by TV execs who have never been to a game in their life.

Your opinion is very important.

>I just support bayern as well
No you don't. No one supports more than one club unless they're a filthy, plastic cunt. You support your local side and are a customer of Bayern Munich, that's it.

/thread

>minor clubs like ac milan, internationale
They are shit now but they aren't minor clubs.

>more money
Americans already invest in and watch a multitude of football leagues, viewing figures for the World Cup are massively higher than the 'Super Bowl'.

>better competition
Literally no, reducing the number of teams capable of competing in the top flight from the current 100s to a couple dozen kills the game, especially if you want to remove pro/rel and introduce communism that rewards failure.

People that are fans of X or Y in their heads because they watched them on TV are even less than customers.

If you don't go to the stadium, what you have to say on a club isn't very relevant. Even worse if you don't speak the language of "your" team's home country. You just don't know the club. It sucks for you, but that's the way it is.

That's why you're our favourite child

>the 6th ranked premier league team
Where were you when the 5th in EPL got rekt by the 10th in Ligue 1? Hint: that was yesterday.

What would be good is if the best players from each country formed teams and played against eachother in a global competition. Either that or the best clubs from each league were put into a continental competition where they decide through a mixture of leagues and knockouts who is the best. The winners of each continental competition could then face eachother every year to decide the overall club champions of the world.

If only someone had come up with this sooner.

>merging leagues with a country that's thousands of km away, that speaks a different language, has a different currency, tax system and legal system...
>...is the same as merging two US leagues

I shouldn't reply to American posters desu

No one should reply to posters from countries without tradition in football.

You're not going to follow your club away in Venezuela tomorrow and then a midweek fixture in New Zealand? Casual.

Americans don't actually go to games, they don't have a culture of travelling to watch your team play away either. Sport is purely a TV show for them.

Literally no one wants to even host the olympics anymore

USA is average on dry land though

Bumping for further OP humiliation.

not gonna flat out say messi is white, but he's whiter than most white americans

Most of them aren't great in the water either

WORLD LEAGUE

I have no words to articulate how fucking stupid this is. You realize that America and Canada already coexist in this exact way?

>better competition is ruining the sport
And the laughs keep comin

>ufc is taking over boxing
both are dying sports at this point. ufc for poor white trash and boxing for spics and nogs

You haven’t even scratched the surface of american money. Americans dont give a shit about soccer.
Nobody said you had to remove relegation. I simply said i want the best players on the field together. Why this is a shocking to yuros ill never understand

So you recognize its a good thing?

It literally already happens in America. You’re acting like these billion dollar franchises cant afford planes. Lol i know you faggots are poor but come on

> it's another thread where a schizo amerimutt talks to himself constantly
they HAVE to be putting something in the water in the states.

It would make more sense to seperate them by division. The 3000km flights wouldn’t be daily things obviously

Both sports have signed hundred million dollar deals with networks and streamers. TV ratings for both sports are up. This tune especially that boxing is dying is timeless

I wouldnt want to be dicked by americans either

Idk what country youre from but boxing is on life support in america

>boxings not dead
