for positional players, its basically the same, and most differences are negligible. The biggest difference is for pitchers.

For bWAR, they measure run prevention by measuring how many TOTAL runs (not just earned runs) a replacement level pitcher would allow which means they include balls in play, defense, etc., for fWAR they use FIP to measure a pitchers ability to prevent runs. Note that FIP only measures things that a pitcher has DIRECT control over, homeruns, BB, and K.

So, for pitcher WAR it really depends on how you value FIP. I'm a little on the fence about FIP, so I prefer bWAR
