I also think Mahrez is more suited to fast counter-attacking. He's not used to patient build-up play. It's only his first season though, I remember Sane being pretty shit in his first season.

Sane and Sterling were both awful in their first seasons. Also, City in general were quite poor in Guardiola's first season. I think people have just become accustomed to how good City were last season and expecting Mahrez to instantly replicate that.

He was a good lad for how he didn't fuck over Leicester when he wanted his move away, so I do actually want him to do well. Hopefully City don't panic-sell him during the summer.
