So from my perspective I saw pascal do pretty good against kov. Fighting awkwardly and countering him really well, pascals problem was he really wasn't good at avoiding punches. No surprise there since he's not some elite fighter.
Ward looked to frustrate kov more than pascal by again breaking his rhythm up. Kov really relies on controlling the fight and fighting at a rhythm he sets.
Alvarez again was countering kov while granted taking a beating but showed that kov really does leave himself open to getting countered even by low level fighters.
So when I see canelo I see someone who has a proven beard, knows how to control a fight, is an excellent counter puncher, and has a very solid defense.

Golovkin was landing his jab at will against Canelo, what makes you think all the decent +6'2 168lb and 175lb lanklets won't do the same? As for Kovalev, he just outboxed a guy thats bigger, more powerful and with a longer reach than Canelo, I don't see him having the least bit of trouble against him. Also I don't think that even any elite welterweight would have trouble against Rocky Fielding and Julio Cesar "15 jabs landed in 12 rounds" Chavez Jr, those are not good measuring sticks for a fighter at 168lbs.
