aero ducts differ air from the front tires and instead push the 'clean' air to each side of the car it's supposed to kill any advantage that the lead car can get and make the cars race tighter together

at Atlanta, due to the rough track surface the driver's are still having to lift and brake, so NASCAR opted to use the brake ducts this weekend to avoid brake/tire failures due to heat, and they're instead going to use the full All-Star package next weekend at Vegas since they tested there and the track is wider and the newer surface means drivers won't have to lift off the throttle at all

this race will not have pack racing, it will be just like the races in 2015 with the high-downforce package

I still think NASCAR needs invest in and run 1 chase race (make it a wild card race do the winner gets in/back into the chase) at a local/new track every year because:

1. Everyone is sick of the same schedule but now with different rules
2. It generates good racing, potential underdog winners, accidents, and television excitement because of a new track (see roval)
3. It grows local economies/gets locals going to races again (okay maybe not so much in Alaska)

One thing I realized after watching nascar on tv for over 15 years is that it's easy to forget that these are actual cars with actual people driving them at high speeds, rather than moving images on the screen. It made it tangible for me. I imagine it like war. You can finds tons of footage but you'll never know what it's like unless you're actually in the shit. It also doesn't help that these don't even look like manufacturer cars anymore.Going to my first race a couple of years ago got me more excited about NASCAR than ever despite shit hitting the fan a year later (Gordon retired)
