Fuck only 2 years diffrence. Tho my university did start playing sports before the date of 1869

It's pretty weird to think that there were sports going on in this country while the Wild West was happening

The Arizona Cardinals were around when the Ottoman Empire still reigned

>shilling for anything from new jersey.

>amateur sports
>relevant

Step aside newbies.

“Before America...”

I fucking love that video they show lol

it's interesting how similar the oldest european and american teams are

i guess organised sports before the 19th century didn't really exist. either aristocrats playing lawn tennis or villages beating the shit out of each other and calling it football

>seeing all of these historic teams that have weathered history
>wondering what's going to happen to sports if there's a nuclear war and society collapses for a while

Those are the asterisks you see in Wikipedia like
>1942 champions
>1943 canceled
>1944 canceled
>1945 canceled
>1946 3rd place

Society always rebuilds

The only difference is that pro/rel preserved the really old teams in Europe, whereas the franchise system killed off most American ones. There's no way that your Dayton Triangles, your Muncie Jeffersons, and your Decatur Staleys are going to survive when the NFL exists and they only allow the HugeTVmarketburg Giganiggas into the league.

Alot of old mlb teams survived. Cincinnati reds the oldest mlb team is from 1869.

Cubs

Literally the oldest professional football club in my country.

You needed modern transportation to have professional sports between different cities. Before that you have events like Olympics and such where everyone gathers together to one spot.

Cry more flyover
