New fan?

I’ve been a football fan since 2014 (American) and in that I was drawn to Chelsea by a friend of mine. However now the club is run by people who hire and fire managers yearly, and the fans just get cancerous and at a certain point I just can’t deal with it anymore. And I’ve always loved Diego Costa and oddly enough Juanfran, but if I were to support Atleti what do I need to know?

That they’re fucking chokers

why do you even post this shit

What part of Atletico are you from lad?

>I’ve always loved Diego Costa
Stopped reading after that

Chaquetero

You can bandwagon whatever foreign team you want but keep in mind they're notorious chokers.
We like aggressive play.

>Petético de Madrid

outside of playing against big teams where they choke often, they play extremely boring football

now is the time to bandwagon liverpool, you will get to experience the crushing feeling of when they slip

An Atletico fan is always welcome; get ready to suffer every other game, though.

What do you mean 'now'?

Imagine a Spaniard supporting the Vikings, the Habs or the Alabama college football team. Sports team have an idiosyncrasy. attached to it.

I've been a fan since Torres was 18. My favorite eras were Torres, Kun, Forlan, and Javier Aguirre. I was gone for the early Cholo era due to military service, but when I came back (around the same time you joined), I never took my eyes off and committed even harder. I'm having a daughter soon, her middle name is going to Vicente Calderon.

This is very true. You'll understand what hope and disappointment is. You'll also learn to savor every win. I don't regret it.

why are americans so plastic?

You need to worship Simeone. The day he leaves Atleti will go back to the pit.

If you're going to bandwagon foreign clubs just switch as much as you like, literally no one cares about plastics.

you have to kys

Don’t listen to the haters, I like Atletico as well.

I take it you support your 8th division village team until death parts you ?

>middle name is going to Vicente Calderon
kek

> Pateti
At least pick a team that doesn't mean constantly getting made fun of. Bandwagoning Atleti is like bandwagoning the Buccaneers.

I unironically support my local team in the 6th division but yeah, if we ever went down to the 8th division I'd still go to games.

Very well, we don’t like those PL or Championship plastics around here

>However now the club is run by people who hire and fire managers yearly
>now

Same in this country, unless they're your nearest pro team you're just jumping on a bandwagon because Sky TV told you to.

So it is okay to support some team you are unrelated to based on geographic distance now. Interesting

If you live/were born in the same city/town as a club then how can they NOT be related? That's the entire point of club football, supporting the team that represents your hometown. lol

You just said ‘nearby professional team’ and now suddenly it’s the same town

How does Man City for example represent the people of Manchester? Foreign owners, foreign staff, foreign players. If they win anything the local community gets no credit

I support my local team but it's more to do with how they just happened to be the first team I started supporting as a kid since they were easily accessible than them representing my town or anything like that. It wouldn't bother me if people from outside of town supported them. That said, I think Irish people should support the Irish league but I don't care what Irish team they choose
