Which is the point I’m debating. The main reason why Kansas’ streak has been so long is because the conference USED to be on average pretty shitty. Since realignment, it’s actually gotten better, the reason why the streak has still continued is because only having 10 teams means a smaller pool of challengers exist to compete with Kansas and the Round Robin format makes it harder to win if you are not firmly the best team in the conference (see: Villanova absolutely dominating the Big East similar to Kansas since realignment).

I don't think /cbb/ needs the Zions of the world, but when guys like Miles Bridges or PJ Washington come back for their Sophomore year it really helps the sport. They gotta find that sweet spot where if you're a top 3 pick you benefit from declaring at 18, but everyone else benefits from going to college for at least 2 years. Maybe limit the amount 18 and 19 year olds can make on a rookie contract, so that if you're good enough for a shoe deal it won't matter but if you're not it's better to wait until 20 to declare.

Personally I was okay with players making some type of money from endorsements if they wanted but after thinking about it I just wasn't sure if I wanted my school to actually pay salaries for them to play here on top of scholarship money. Especially if it could mean raising tuition if you are a small school. Everyone focuses on the dukes of the world but there are a lot of elons that play college basketball too. Overall it was a tricky situation and letting kids go directly to the draft after high school could help solve some of the problems
