youtube.com/watch?v=KDKmldhweF4 anybody know what wah this is? i've been thinking bout getting a parachute wah for a while and i think this might be it but not sure
Thomas Nelson
Not if you're going for a haruko, the overcompensating message was pretty clear.
>the virgin fretted guitarist with intonation that is permanently poor >the chad fretless guitarist following the tradition of real instruments like violin, with intonation that is every bit as dead on as his well trained ear
>only a gibson is good enough this dude has solid his Gibson's dude to back injuries and has played dunable and nik huber guitars. He's now back to gibsons. Unironically proving only a gibson is good enough
Clairo will literally never play for an audience that big. Ever.
Justin Lee
Lol I don't even like guitar
Jose Jones
me neither, fuck that shit
Carter Bell
>overpriced zinc bridges and chambered firewood mahogany Lmao
Luke White
>Spends entire life becoming the most technically proficient guitar player in the world >Is a literally who since he has never written a single interesting thing in his life
>boomer rock and metal >farty distortion >faggy high pitched male vocals >music so bad it made people hate white people just for making it
>zoomer "rock" and "metal" >smooth, creamy distortion >baritone male vocals and beautiful female vocals >music so good it made people like white people again
Hunter Nguyen
How do you guys rate high end Epiphones?
Cooper Gutierrez
or y'know, you could try not compensating for your tiny dick with your guitar brand
Gavin Barnes
>only an eastman sb57 is good enough lol >me chinese >me pray joke >me sell you shitplank >cause you are broke
no, good singing will if you sing like Sambo you're SoL
Jason Myers
>malagoli more like mongoli for mongols and guys with down like sam
Luke Cruz
the retard clairoposter fucks up all the links in the op they think they are funny or something
Christopher Thompson
And your dad
Robert Torres
you wish dumb faggot my dad had high IQ (rip dad) meanwhile your dad is deaf and retarded, you said so.
Josiah Hernandez
Anyone have any recommended artists that can help me get better at guitar? I'm hoping that if I learn difficult songs and different styles, I can make better songs
David Miller
Chon
Leo Lee
Django
Hunter Thompson
What if i play both?
Jack Reed
short answer: no. long answer: have sex.
Ayden Hall
Did you know that having children out of wedlock is the reason you don’t own a Gibson Les Paul?
imagine having a dad who lived with his mom and she kept him and his stuff outside like a dog lmao i'm an adult, boy. i don't give a shit about childrens play except to laugh at it when it's funny
Care to post the songs you made from learning theory, user?
Lucas Ross
>im an adult I highly fucking doubt that. >i dont care about childrens play I highly fucking doubt that since all you do is sperg like a retarded kid. But i agree its funny to watch.
Yes i wanted advice on an american pro stratocaster purchase thats why i came to /gg/. I played with you for a bit but youre boring now. What your infatuation of me consists of escapes me.
lmao jroachy, you got exactly what you earned here, there's no escape now. don't get all pissy with me because you were too stupid to keep your pathetic, undeserved ego in check. you wanted an identity? you got one, and it's spot on accurate
And never sell guitars, pedals, or amps. Even some old behringer pedals are now worth twice as much as they sold for initially, and what doesn't appreciate reaches the bottom of its depreciation curve almost immediately. Enjoy it while you have it, if you really truly need the money it's there when you want it.
i'm not a helpless poor loser so i buy everything new. in fact when my strings start to sound like shit i just ditch the entire guitar and buy another.
Colton Robinson
>in fact when my strings start to sound like shit i just ditch the entire guitar and buy another baste
this is the kind of music that makes people stop, listen, and smile
this is the kind of music teenagers get stoned in their cars to. the man is rich but only because the federal government subsidizes the existence of record labels, and because he was lucky enough to get buddy-buddy with hebrews with longer noses than this putz, and smaller hearts.
what do you want to contribute to the world? do you want to deserve your money or do you want to be a lucky schmuck who only deserves a swift kick in the nuts?
> never learn that you're apparently supposed to bend with the first one or two fingers to support the middle/ring finger > ring finger now feels stiff and sometimes sore after jamming for a long time
Fug. I guess I have to relearn how to bend and get a pack of these.
Who has the best combo of technical proficiency and good songwriting ability?
I'd say Paul Gilbert.
Ryan Sanchez
Nah just grow some balls. Eric Clapton and others never uses support fingers
Jason Robinson
That's a no brainer, it's your mom
Dominic Peterson
>learning Scorpions Rock You Like a Hurricane >just opened a Bang's >just get 4-5 hours alone with my butterscotch Telecaster and tubescreamer Yep, that's the life.
it is the children who are wrong this time. their tastes were dictated by adults looking to make a quick buck and shitty "rap" is the cheapest music to produce with the least talented (read: disposable and easy to replace) "artists".
Pedals = real guitarist with creativity and talent No pedals = either a blues boomer or a brainlet that plays some childrens genre like chug, djent, or shred (all fall under "meal")
Isaac Kelly
>PN-2 How do you like it? Just saw one of those pop up on reverb for only $150. Shame I got a DC-2w before I saw the PN-2.
true but even if the rappers are basically random edgy faggots meant to appeal to rebellious white kids and mulattos, the producers are really good at making formulaic catchy pop music.
Asher Cook
>Pedals = real guitarist with creativity and talent >t.
>effects processor >powersrtip +daisy chain What's it feel like settling for mediocre shit?
Evan Ortiz
that's johnny marr's
i don't even have pedals, i'm just posting it for the contrast between something that sees regular use and has been refined over decades and some kevin shields-esque jam packed messes made by redditors who overanalyze the least important aspects of playing guitar
>i need tone-electricity
Camden Cox
>sweetwater catalog shopper everything you have is shit except for the tremolo pan yours sucks too this one i like
Connor Ward
For me the sign someone never leaves their bedroom and uses effects as an excuse to stray from regimented practice and just replicate their favorite riffs is a million pedals crammed together in a way that a man-sized boot could activate two or three at once if used in a dimly lit bar.
Ayden Reyes
Fuck you ni/gg/er, I thought there might be a real player in here for once. I shoulda knowed I was being tricked
PN-2 is the best trem pedal. I'd suggest you grab one IF you can find a good deal. I got a steal on that and the original Dimension-C!
I run the EQ basically flat, there's a slight increase on the high end freq, but you can't really tell in that pic angle. Then I can boost the output, if needed. I find that dialing in the amp/pedals, I can get the freq curve I like. The EQ just puts a little something sweet on the sound.
Angel Martin
>bangs wat
Adrian Sanders
yeah it's just you and me, no real players in /gg/
Leo Reed
I'm a session musician, I like to have options, hence the somewhat crowded board. I'm not in a bar playing for drunks..
Parker Wilson
If you're a session guy you can get away with having two boards.
>he's a session musician >he still uses dated pedals >he doesn't use a kemper and an axe fx because any important tonal differences between a real pedal and a simulated one can be eliminated in mixing
Christian Williams
God, I wish I was a baroque improv chad
Eli Richardson
there are no tonal differences. real pedals are for people who only need less than the cost of an axe-fx's worth of effects. nothing more, nothing less. buying individual effects is actually for saving money.
Kevin Lopez
I have 2 Kempers and 5 amps. Not that proving anything to contrarian Yea Forumstants is high on my priority list.
Jordan Nelson
seething poorfags
Ryder Cox
Also please tell me what Nashville session musicians that you know of that do NOT have pedal boards; with or without a digital amp. I'll wait.
Anthony Thompson
all me btw
Aaron Wood
i went to guitar center, picked up about 10 guitars and put them all incredibly out of tune
I just assumed everyone who walks into a Guitar Center did this anyway, and I base this on every single time I've ever walked into a GC.
Adam Cruz
EminAdd4
Henry Ortiz
>Add4
Good god.
Michael Sullivan
First time mixing a song, I have no fucking idea what I'm doing with the EQs. Don't have studio monitors to listen to it either. Someone tell me if something's wrong.
that's a lot of buttons for something you can't even hear
Brody Parker
How come all anyone ever posts here is electric guitars and only seems to be interested in rock? I have been lurking for the past few months and it seems as though there is absolutely zero discussion of blues, jazz, classical, bluegrass, or anything beyond the scope of rock metal and pop. Are you all normies or something?
People literally talk about jazz all the time on here, usually just one or two of us at a time, but it happens.
Justin Rodriguez
>the virgin hipster who will do anything to make his overwhelming mediocrity stand out >the chad rocker who doesn't need to overcompensate by playing less common genres
James James
electric guitar with effects made acoustic so obsolete that acoustic players have resorted to hitting their guitars to try and stay relevant.
what surprises me is that people post about guitars and not amps and pickups.
Chase Walker
You say that but I have yet to see it. Maybe i just missed it, but it doesnt change the fact that 99% is focused away from that sort of thing. I am only wondering why that's the case is all. I enjoy psychedelic, grunge, and plenty of other genres of rock/metal/pop, but I am just wondering why nothing else is discussed here. Also >jazz less common than metal yeah I don't think so. Maybe in your tween circles I guess
Colton White
There reason people here don't play anything more complicated than Blues, Rock, and harmonically-elementary Metal is because the alternatives require formal study as well as a huge time investment in the application of those studies.
and none of us will ever make it because the average poster started playing in their 20s and the industry is heavily biased towards youth
at the best you can hope to be a cheap session musician and do it on your days off. probably for, guess what, blues, rock, and metal. you could learn jazz but it wouldn't get you much further.
Cooper Bailey
I can't imagine playing with the intent to make a career out of it, not starting later in life anyway. You don't need to be classically trained to play jazz, but I do understand what you're saying. That makes sense to me.
Daniel Sullivan
Yeah, why bother learning something you're not interested in when you're not going to make money off it, ever, and it's going to further delay the already significantly delayed onset of being "good" that comes with starting with reduced neuroplasticity. It doesn't make sense unless you specifically want to play that genre.
John Taylor
remind us one more time that if you start when you're 12, you're good by 15, but if you start when you're 22 you're good by your mid 30s
Ryan Foster
calm down autismo. Ever consider that people might just play what they enjoy?
Noah Robinson
This will be a good project, thanks. I hope you'll keep coming around to post music and performances.
Nicholas Watson
Can anyone recommend a decent audio interface for ~$80
Nathaniel Adams
His AFI themed sleeve is pretty nice.
Carter Jackson
Behringer Uphoria UMC22
Andrew Anderson
thank you
John Johnson
I finished it (almost).
Everything here, Cables, power, guitar, amp, board etc was about $500 total. It's a lot of fun. (I have other gear as well but that's not important)
INB4 someone gets mad that a budget build for fun bedroom playing has cheap things in it. That was the point.
I still want to get a digitech grunge pedal for nostalgia, a flanger and a chorus. But for now im having a good time with what I have.
>going through Justin guitar course >2nd week >Girl Like You >fuck this is fast >3rd week >can barely keep up with it >keep fucking up my chord switching when I try to play it >palm keeps touching e string because I start to lose grip on my guitar overtime I swear to god anons I'm going to fucking smash this guitar across someone's face
Landon Campbell
Not everyone is able to get through fast chord changes within the first month. By month 2 you should be switching between chords no problem. And learning new chord shapes does get easier too. Also, I never focused on the JustinGuitar cover tutorials, just all the technical videos. Perfect the technical videos within your skill set first and then practice covering songs.
Jason Johnson
your playing... it's kaka... :)
Noah Morris
My dad died and left me and my sister everything he had 50/50 He has left behind his guitars and amps that could be worth a lot of money combined, that I'm allowed to take but the value of which will be taken from the sale of his house and given to my sister. I'm not as deep in with music as I was in the past, so I've always been content with what guitars and equipment I have as a bedroom player. I'm split at the choice of keeping or selling based on the practicality of them just ending up deteriorating in a cupboard or under my bed.
Cooper Phillips
keep the best or most important one and sell the rest
Alexander Rogers
thanks user, would you recommend the app he keeps pushing or what should I use for covers? I like the app from what I've seen so far but I hate that I have to use my phone, it would be a lot nicer if I can use my computer.
>buy classical guitar >play nothing but the pop same chords on it >fretboard is worn down to the raw wood only at those specific chord fingerings why do people do this?
Zachary Cruz
I could not imagine why someone would buy a classical guitar
Jose Parker
More like saving every thread
Oliver Wood
because people can do whatever they want to do. nothing to do with you lad
Should i buy a contemporary active jazzmaster or the vintage modified baritone jazzmaster? Im planning on playing some metal on it.
Bentley Carter
Ask your mom
Angel Bennett
I did but she said to ask some retards instead so here i am
Elijah Murphy
>metal you should buy a gun to shoot yourself
Joseph Gomez
Does anyone have tips on selecting a pic.
Zachary Ross
*For a bass
Adam Gonzalez
I use a jazzIII when I need to use a pic. You should use your fingers whenever possible, which is almost always.
Isaiah Gonzalez
Take a few and just choose the best one. It will probably be easy because you'll only have a few that aren't shaky since you're retarded
John Price
Don't wory user, if you're pretty new to it all it does take time. You'll find that one easy enough after a few more months, I promise. Keep practicing your 1 minute changes.
