Why do people never call Black Sabbath an influential band along with The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, MC5, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix? It was unarguably ahead of its time

>Why do people never call Black Sabbath an influential

They are acknowledged for being influential to metal. It's just that no one takes metal seriously.

Scaruffi gives the The Beatles routine
>guise they weren't actually innovative and influential because I don't like them

Scaruffi is an awful example here

I love awful music, too!

The first album is pretty overrated, and owes a lot to Cream, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Yardbirds and Blue Cheer.

Paranoid is one of the most influential rock albums ever though.

He literally says they one of the most influential complexes of all time.
