lot of fags in this thread

Beatles' most catchy songs are catchier than beach boys' most catchy songs but beaches released more creatively consistent albums

Who seen the tweet Reddit took down today?

The fuck I need a full military of supermen to prove to me this shit's real so I can finally ascend

oloff - doing it stealthy

u misinterpreted my slight at Yea Forums as a slight at the beach boys
reddit is for actual functioning human beings that browse the internet in their spare time
Yea Forums is full autismo basement dweller, the beach boys are too good for this board

switch it.
YOU are on the wrong site.

The Beatles and Beach Boys are both good
Neither Reddit nor Yea Forums are good

IMO, there is/are The Beatles and there's everyone else. No one REALLY compares with The Beatles. Now, when you talk about the "everyone else", I'm still not sure that The Beach Boys would be at the top. But they would be close. First of all, they've got longevity, even if, like me, you consider their career as a group to have ended with Carl's death in the late 90s. Second, there is a creative/artistic arc similar to what The Beatles (and other top groups) did. For The Beach Boys, it went a little longer, though. Say, 1961 to 1973. After '73, with only a couple of minor blips, they artistically regressed until by 1978 or '79, they were more or less human jukeboxes simply playing the oldies and putting out new material that sounded as 1964 as they could get it. But still, there are the Great Legitimate Rock Albums: 20/20, Sunflower, Surf's Up, Holland, In Concert.

Not The Beatles, but perhaps as close as an American band ever got.

Britbongs are generally better than amerifats, but in this case Beach Boys >>> Beatles.

Who?

all beach boys songs sound the same

reddit has more beatles fans and Yea Forums has more beachboy fans? idk that seems really hard to figure out. i think eeddit has more users and probably more fans of both. weird thread idk man

what did it say

Because feel flows sounds just like all i wanna do

I think his point is that reddit gets all the fame for the leeching off Yea Forums's inventions

those are some gay ass song titles
face it, beach boys are gay

Humor me. Play Surfin' Safari, Cabinessence, and Student Demonstration Time and then tell me if you feel the same way.

that's merely because mu is contrarian out of principle.

Tfw seemingly no decent middle ground anymore. Comfy website full of lowkey autistic but still fairly well functioning beings when?

So the whole world is Reddit then? I've never met anyone that prefers BB over Beatles in my life, irl at least.
Anyway stay seething, the Beatles are the greates band of all time.

The beach boys circlejerk subreddit is genuinely really funny sometimes, funnier than anything I've seen on mu for years.

other than that, probably.

>Student Demonstration Time
I love the Beach Boys and I get your point, but that song is terrible. It's the Beach Boys laughable attempt at Revolution.

I start laughing my ass off every time the theremin comes in. So corny and out of place

I hate the term but yikes.

Why do I see all this based lennon shit, but then read his lyrics to Imagine and it all doesnt make sense?

Maybe read his lyrics other than precisely an intentionally utopian song like Imagine?

>metaphorically meaning absolute confirmation of this being true not basing my certainty on a single screenshot which upon researching would lead to a rabbit hole of nothingness
I hate kikes but yikes.

Elaborate on imagine and why he didnt experience a paradigm shift becoming a full-blown commie

Disgraceful
youtube.com/watch?v=7q54n4_OGcI

he was a fan of literature, he wrote stuff he didn't necessarily agree with, but liked the way it was worded all the time. There's a CHANCE, Imagine, was ironic, or at least satirical or as nonsensical as his other songs. but the more likely event was that he was just simping for yoko

So based. God bless that dead faggot.

>I hate kikes but yikes.
And yet that is the exact response I would expect from such.
Live your life my dude; if you don;t like something then move on.
If you are a troll; I am already unstable but I don't reply to fags anymore.
If you're in a van outside of my house; come on in brother and end my existence.
Just stop basing your ideas on outside influences.

It is. You can hear John Lennon singing that line at the end of some outtakes of Baby You're a Rich Man

Yoko happened

>I remember one gig the Beatles had at the Cavern, It was just after they got Brian Epstein as their manager. Everyone in Liverpool knew that Epstein was gay, and some kid in the audience screamed, 'John Lennon's a f***ing queer!' And John--who never wore his glasses on stage--put his guitar down and went into the crowd, shouting, 'Who said that?' So this kid says, 'I f***ing did.' John went after him and BAM, gave him the Liverpool kiss, sticking the nut on him--twice! And the kid went down in a mass of blood, snot and teeth. Then John got back on the stage.

>'Anybody else?' he asked. Silence. 'All right then. "Some Other Guy".'

It was from 2008 and was a 13%/50% comment

nah there are differences

You faggots ever hear how they rag on Lennon for beating his first wife. Fuck Reddit...

The fact that so many books still name the Beatles as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success. The Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worthy of being saved.

I fixed it
