Did Johnny Rotten sing on that? :^)

this one is way better than alien soundtracks. also
>so this is where kevin and the bikes got their sound

Fortunately not
Rotten has his legacy settled with PiL
Good enough legacy I say

>does post-hardcore before hardcore is even around
nice

that isn't one of the first three Wire albums

That album is post-punk though, and not all that much of a standout among post-punk albums anyway.

I just looked it up and I genuinely like the first track. I hope the rest is as good.

experimental punk is only lumped under "post-punk" by retards like yourself. this is punk

Shut the fuck up, some of the most punk sounding albums are not even guitar-driven
Ramones is pop punk in comparison, Wire is considered post-punk as well yet it's extremely punk
Punk doesn't have to be straightforward sex pistols shit and labels are nothing more than chronological convienience not always depicting metaphysical aspects of the band or album

I hear this music thing is interesting tell me more

Correct.

chrome are based

The fall is the best punk band by a long shot and their best is easily Perverted by Language.

that dude from black midi is a time traveller

Yes

>My favorite punk album? Well it's (insert post-punk/arty noise rock album here), by far!

For me? It’s The Modern Dance

are we still seriously in this obnoxious contrarian "PiL > Sex Pistols" historical revisionism era of evaluating Lydon's career?
fuck I hate music nerds. there has to be some level of pretending involved in saying a song like "Bad Baby" is more inspired and Bodies or Holiday in the Sun

>labels are nothing more than chronological convienience
then why do you care so much if that guy said post-punk?

damn... got him

Read again what I wrote

Alien Soundtracks is my favorite, but yeah Chrome are amazing. I haven’t gotten into their 80s material yet though

partial to this bands early material

No, but it's a pretty good record.

For my pick it would probably be one of the first 2 Wipers albums though there are a lot of great punk albums that could contend with them so I don't know man.

cringe

Good pick but I feel like DEVO's debut beats The Modern Dance when it comes to
art punk.

I might actually have to listen to that album now.

Close, same city and era as this, which is in fact the best punk album ever made. Negative Trend and Minimal Man from the same time/place are also brilliant. Was something in the water in late 70's/early 80's San Francisco?

agreed 100% and one of the best live bands ever

i was at this show and it was the best concert i've ever been to

youtube.com/watch?v=yCNkMjjXHNM

I wish I could've seen them live back in the day

youtube.com/watch?v=a2JyRXtcaRg

Also The Sleepers
m.youtube.com/watch?v=TmdGhikv650

That's actually proto-punk, since they owe their sound more to The Stooges than any other punk rock band.
