bump

ok i think i'll try again on friday night

had a chance to chill w death grips and turned it down lol. idk why. social anxiety i guess.

i did talk to helado negro, dude was sweet as hell

wow man, even tho im sure this is LARP, today im gonna let my guard down and be naive, if you are or were ever in contact w death grips you mightve fucked up my man, from what i've known they're pretty chill, funny guys and they smoke lotsa dope, but when it comes down to music they're DEAD serious. maybe another time, user.

yeah. someone i worked with knew them from way back in sacramento, he got me tickets and backstage pass at their terminal 5 show a couple years ago. and he's like we'll chill afterwards. still pretty mad at myself

oh meant to mention he was also working as their tour manager or something. he actually said the same thing about their attitude towards music - he makes music and had helped out on a few early death grips track but they apparently are very serious and confident about their work and not interested in collaborating with him on any official death grips projects

I saw Mac DeMarco last fall and told him I liked the demos for This Old Dog. He said "thanks" and then we took a picture. It was kind of surreal because back in like 2013/2014 I obsessively watched every performance and interview he did. He was a nice guy, looked tired.

Mike Inez (bassist for AIC, Ozzy, Slash's Snakepit) and I sat around for 8 minutes and had hamburgers after an Alice show in 2010. Their road manager had forgotten to order food for backstage, it was after midnight, and there was only one place open between the venue and the highway.
He's very personable, and we had a nice conversation about the difficulty of finding 2000-5000 seat venues with pits, reading music in bass clef, and the possibility of doing another music video with Mark Pellington.
>Jerry said, "Hi," and I just said, "hey." That was the extent of our conversation since I was a bit dumfounded and it wasn't a "meet and greet" where the band is sort of obligated to listen to me blabber.

I asked Corpsegrinder for his favorite baby stew recipe. He didn't have one.

I met Josh Homme outside one of their shows two years ago. He was really nice, even though I sort of got the vibe that he'd rather have just been left alone, he was still willing to take pictures with my friends and I. I told him his music really helped me when I was going through a rough patch in my life and he said "Yeah, me too."

I see Tom G. Warrior almost daily and greet him, based dude.

I talked to peter steele at a show 15 years ago I don't remember exactly what we talked about but he was really hot

Met James Blake at a bar before a show in NC many years ago. I asked him how he was doing (this was right after overgrown came out) and he said "things are going well now that I'm actually making some fucking money." I left him alone after that to enjoy his meal/drink, but I thought it was very genuine and funny how he reacted.

Me and a netbuddy emailed Frank Turner and Klaus Fluoride the link to our spoof Shiina Ringo blog back in 2008, Frank replied back with “what?” and Klaus... well...
>Hey Andrew,. I guess it's apparent that I have a weakness for j.pop. But it goes way back to the 40's 78's thru to Pink. Lady to the Plastics and on to Pizzicato Five to. Takako Minekawa (genius) and to Puffy Ami Yumi. I even liked "Walking on Thin Ice". What can I say. It's sort of the eastern version of Kraftwerk and Eno, no? Didn't know about "Ringo" but loved her choice of names. I researched her and indeed downloaded, do. thanks for that. And yes, your site is a wonder to behold. (really it's quite good isn't it).
What a fucking sport. Devilishly enough neither of our names were Andrew.

got to hang out with machine girl before a show about 2 years ago, he didn't seem to be very interested but i was being a little autistic anyway, got an awkward picture with him, his drummer was very chill and gave me some nice recs

James Ferraro emailed me once.

I asked Taylor Swift if she’d breastfeed me

I saw Flying Lotus at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I briefly spoke with grimes when i went to mcgill. i was drunk so i don't remember what the conversation was about.

>"Yeah, me too."

I got a beer with Rob and John Wright from Nomeansno, I worked with their nephew and he got us tickets to their show and hung out after. Shot the shit about the old BC punk scene, bass, touring, etc for about half an hour.
They're both incredibly talented musicians, John got his start jazz drumming and plays mathy punk with a traditional grip, Rob doesn't string his bass until he's literally on stage to start the show.
