you'll be surprised to know that a famous theme you most definitely recognize is on that album
>Walk into any arcade at the sea side
It's an absolute classic. The laborious process it took to make it is impressive, but the music itself is really good too.
hello fellow brit user
Not just good but great. It may be an old album but it has tons of interesting musical ideas and sounds. Oxygene 4 was the main hit but Oxygene 2 is the best part.,
JMJ is pretty based
Yes it's one of the most important electronic records ever made.
Boomers love this stuff. Half of every synthesizer video on youtube is berlin school crap.
like most electronic records of that era, listen to it keeping in mind that it was an absolute pain in the ass to make and quite novel, while today one person can emulate these sounds for next to nothing in cost and effort.
that said, this particular record is great as it's not just synth wankery
it's funny though to picture those 70s/80s sounds as being the dubstep sound design of the time. I wonder if they had places like /prod/ back then where composers tried to figured out how JMJ got his 'synth brasses so fat' or something lmao
jarre wasnt berlin school and his music was much more immediate and less cerebral than berlin school counterparts
One of the first fully synthesized albums ever made, and its also kino.
itunes says ive listend to it 325 times since april 2017
It's fantastic.

I've listened to it but I dont remember anything about it
I've heard that it was in one of the first major western concerts in China, and people went apeshit and loved it
>can't be bothered to spare an hour to listen to a recommendation, so asks a bunch of autists and trolls for their input
Geez, listen to the damned thing and make up your own mind for once.
somewhat agree, should have listened then posted about your 50 yo coworker with your opinion on the album
It's pretty good, but this is my all time favorite JMJ thing:

Many good acid trips on this one.
Oxygene part 4?
do you close your eyes and imagine floating thru space or just sit on the sofa looking on something?
It’s pretty cool, one of the few albums I’ve impulsed bought after hearing it playing in a record store, and it was worth the purchase.
