i really prefer Dir in grey's early alt rock stuff to their schizo metal stuff
youtube.com
God, I'm so glad they abandoned this faggy shit.
thanks for contributing user. ive only heard a few buck-tick songs, i really need to check out more of their stuff
vkei has been dead for over a decade
i dont think that really matters user
The only song I know
these getups remind me of 90s club kids
these are so fuckin cool. 90s vk mags are my favorite thing ever, ive been wanting to get some for ages
theyre very similar scenes, with the similar focus on aesthetics, music, art, self-expression, inclusiveness, and all
rec me vk that sounds a little like Dir En Grey before they went sashimi slipknot
bands that sound like Missa, Gauze and maybe Macabre
I've always liked Madeth Gray'll but this is the first time in my life I listen to them this heavily. I will never grow out of VK
they had the most vk sounding vocalist that ever vk'd
too bad their shit is impossible to find anywhere. I like owning the stuff I listen to
super underrated music video
youtube.com
i love kyo to bits but he might be the least attractive vk singer ever
I've been seeking out stuff like that too lately and it's way harder to find good examples of the genre than I expected. Kagrra had a good take on it back when they were still Crow and I don't think a lot of people still talk about this demo anymore
you might like Shazna's first couple eps
your ears are defective. the early stuff sounds timeless, the new stuff belongs in the fucking mid 2000s. they probably have the worst, most lifeless sounding guitar tone of any 'major' japanese band right now.
that's a crazy page
Kuroyume, Aliene Mar'riage, La'Mule
what a fantastic photo
are all these pics your own scans? or just random stuff off the net?
There's a french review of that live on here: web.archive.org
That place is a goldmine of info on the VK scene from 1998-2000
Chuuzetsu, Nakigara wo and that other EP with Shinainaru Death Mask are definitely the purest expression of that style
I found them a while back from this website which I'm pretty sure is down now, I mostly scan magazines from the 80s though, but went through a huge visual kei phase during my high school days so I still save pics when I run into them.
I have a huge soft spot for Gekka Hakurei by Missalina Rei too. They never get a fair rep musically but their first album is really catchy and sounds just as gritty as other darker stuff
that's all I'm posting for this thread
ok one more
Russian vk scene pictures are my favorite thing in the world
There's hardly any difference, after all, visual kei was just a marketing gimmick pushed at angsty teenage girls.
thank you very much for your contributions based user
this is my Hide plush, he's a cutie

Someone please tell me more about this record. It's the most uncanny record I ever heard. I discovered it long ago from some last fm user. Apparently they were an extremely experimental visual kei group. I think

wow user thats a super weird but cool find. doesnt seem like theres any info of em online, theyre not even on jpopsuki. I'll keep lookin though, this is awesome
Listen to AION

>OH MY GOD DIR EN GREY! They're so much more experimental and interesting than other metal bands!
I just found Lacryma Christi's Sculpture of Time & listened to it. holy shit. is their other stuff this good?
Based and redpilled
So glad Mana-sama ditched the dying Malice Mizer to pursue his interest in heavier music.
