in my experience bands will usually outright request moshing, or just let it happen.
however one thing that seems to be a consistency among every concert venue in my area is that nobody is allowed to crowdsurf up and onto the stage, usually if that happens they immediately get removed by security the only time ive seen this be broken was at an an Andrew W.K. event and he had like 20 audience members with him on stage
