Is German Battlerap considered to be of any value? The community is tinier than the viewership of the 4cc but at least they build their own beats and stuff. I cannot stand that Mumblerap bull of this decade and German Gangsterrap is really meh.

Well the VBT was a huge thing in it's prime around 2011-2013. Each round in the Weekend vs. Battleboi Basti battle had several millions of views on Youtube, and many other battles had millions of views. It was peak rap and peak entertainment. It mostly had nothing to do with the embarrassing Gangstarap from the 2000s and happened before mumble rap and trap. It was entirely its own style based on melodies, musicality, creativity and fun with an incredible diversity and range (EstA and Klaus Bukkake couldn't be more different for example). There even was a great and fun community if you substract the negative influence that Juliensblog had. For me personally, the VBT times were great and I enjoyed them a lot and seriously miss them. I still listen to some battles every now and then. Still I am glad the VBT ended with head held high this year, although things have been quite repetitive and less appealing in the later tournaments.
So yeah, I've got a pretty positive opinion on at least the video battle rap genre for the most part. I'm not into RBA or Rap am Mittwoch stuff, but I have only heard good things.
