a period of a thousand years, especially when calculated from the traditional date of the birth of Christ.
Yes, retard. Proof rock fans are smarter than other fans right here.
Cali and NYC have produced tons of great bands, doesn't change the fact that those bands were always bigger in the heart of the country....you know...where more white people live.

The current millennium is the period that began in 2000.
lol, 2000 marked the beginning of the "new millennium." So from 2000s onward it is considered the "current millennium."
This is probably the most embarrassing post I've seen in a while, holy shit...
Not the person you're replying to but you're a moron.
lol
It's obvious that we're very close to a big rock revival.
Elaborate
I've seen Disturbed, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Evanescence, FFDP, Dragonforce, Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Halestorm, ....I don't know honestly the list could go on with countless bands who debuted in the 00s that I've seen at big rock shows, whether I was a big fan of their music or not, which more often than not, I'm not, but that doesn't mean they aren't big bands who have a lot of fans other than me.
I don't know, man. Whoever thinks rock is dead just isn't very good at digging.

Why the fuck would anyone mean 1019-2019 when they say "current millennium"??? That would mean that next year would have a new current millennium of 1020-2020, and 1019-2019 would be the past millennium.
Do you suffer from literal autism?

Only one of those actually started in the new millennium, and they started just a few years into it.
>T. guy who looked up when these bands started playing music
They were all bands who put out their first album in the 00s and became known to anybody outside of their five buddies. Nobody actually counts the year a band has it's very groundwork laid as the beginning of said band, a band starts when they have an album people can actually buy nationwide.
the spirit of rock n roll will never die
>bands dont exist until they get signed to a label, get access to a recording studio, record a full album, and then release it nationwide
Even if you consider the beginning of a band to be the release of their first album, that still makes the first few years of the millennium to be the last time that new major rock bands were being formed.
It's too early to be writing rock's obituary just yet. There are still rock radio stations on terrestrial and satellite radio, and while half of that are oldies and classic rock, it's still rock.
Also, as live music goes, rock is still a good choice for venues. Putting on rap shows could end up with your building being trashed and dead patrons. Who needs the bad PR? Rock's a little safer than that.
So Twisted Sister is a 70's band to you because they were old guys playing clubs in the underground for fucking ever before finding their sound and actually putting out music anyone heard? Fuck you, they're synonymous with the 80's, and they're an 80's band.
Halestorm came out with their first album in like 2009, A7X was around in the early 00s but their breakthrough to mainstream importance was in 2005 which was when they became huge, and around that time plenty of rock bands became huge.....notably many metalcore, "emo", etc bands
>Putting on rap shows could end up with your building being trashed and dead patrons.
Because bad things never happen at rock shows.
Worse is the fact that rap shows aren't usually compelling, and pretty low-energy.
This thread is dumb.
The only rap shows that draw big audiences are huge rappers....like Kanye and Eminem and Jay Z
Most rap shows draw what mid level rock bands do if they're lucky enough to have a cult fanbase in the first place, I saw Snoop Dogg at the same theatre bands like Cradle Of Filth play, his celebrity doesn't matter when rap fans don't go to concerts, concert going is a white people thing for the most part unless like I said, said artist has a cult fanbase
Blacks go to clubs, not concerts, for the most part. They'd rather hear music played through speakers while they dance on a dance floor or sit at tables than stand around and see it live.
Rock 'n roll is here to stay,
It will never die
It was meant to be that way,
Though I don't know why
I don't care what people say,
Rock 'n roll is here to stay
(We don't care what people say,
Rock 'n roll is here to stay)
Rock 'n roll will always be
Our ticket to the end
It'll go down in history,
Just you watch, my friend
Rock 'n roll will always be,
It'll go down in history
(Rock 'n roll will always be,
It'll go down in history)
If you don't like rock 'n roll,
Think what you've been missin'
But if you like to bop and strawl,
Come on down and listen
Let's all start to have a ball,
Everybody rock 'n roll
This came out in 1958. As early as 4 or 5 years into the rise of the genre, people -- lots of them -- were saying rock was kaput, over, finished. Like anything else, it has times when it's more popular and times when it's less popular. But it hasn't come close to actually dying.
Nothing in any other musical genre can match the excitement of a tremendous live rock band. It's an exciting format.
Bad things HAVE happened at rock shows, but it's a question of playing the percentages.
YOU own a club. YOU have live music. Do you bring in rappers or rockers? Or, do you go jazz or folk? If you answer "rap", then you are either 1, black, or 2, your club's in a predominately black hood where the community pressure will be for you to put on rap shows.
I bring in whoever is popular at the time, so rappers and popstars currently.
All music is dead
>projecting
>rock and roll CAN NEVER die
