I have mild tinnitus and it's ok.
For 3 weeks a couple of years ago I had severe tinnitus due to a viral infection and If that was to be my life forever I could see myself an heroing, but luckily it stopped.

Could we leave this poor man alone already

He's dead, it's not like it bothers him

>can't get tinnitus because I was already born with it
nice

but it isn't even that big of a deal just ignore it or listen to music you're a spaz if you kill yourself over it

Yeah I'm sure this guy had no ongoing mental health problems and he killed himself purely because of tinnitus. Sounds the whole story to me!

how come computers don't show decibel level when adjusting the volume? Literally 0-100 is an arbitrary scale and having it at like, 40, for example could maybe damage your eyes but you don't know

cringe

because the computer has no way of accurately knowing what the decibel output of the headphones is. Every headphone has a different impedance and level of efficiency, and each computer has a different amplifier section, so '50' in windows will give wildly different results with different hardware combinations.
It's ultimately down to the user to have common sense, and if you're too stupid to realise you're listening so loud that you're damaging your hearing, then you deserve it.

There really is no reason to have your volume much higher than normal conversation levels, which you can listen to for as long as you want without fearing damage.

go away incel
Yeah but what if you listen at volume 60 which is a tad high but you don't know and it damaged your hearing slowly as opposed to listening to volume level 55 in the "safe zone"

Then its still your fault for not getting your hearing tested periodically, because you'd be able to catch that progressive damage early on. Also, if you're only listening a 'tad' too high, you would need to be listening for very long periods to cause damage.

having tinnitus is based, it symbolizes your love for Yea Forumssic

It's not just volume, it's also time.
The standard for industrial noise safety is 85dB over 8 hours.
Not only are you a nutjob if you're listening to your computer at 85dB, but if you're doing it for 8 hours straight then god damn.

I've had it for like 30 yrs now

I feel like I got tinnitus from either overweightness or Korn
or age...
how does one get rid of it?

Extremely cringe.

He sounds like a faggot

one does not

so you're stuck with the ringing till you an hero?

yep

I've heard that concentrating on it actually makes it go away. The idea is that by thinking of it instead of ignoring it, you train your brain to filter it out.

then you've been trolled

I'm sure this was the only problem in his life

i have terrible tinnitus and have for over a decade sure its sucks, might lose your mind for a few months at first but i couldnt imagine killing myself, sounds gay adn beta desu

Might as well then listen to Harsh Noise, not like it's worse than constant EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Stop listening to music 24/7

I know a guy who had titin whatever it's called. He obsesses over it and it drives him crazy. It's literally his only problem but he can't stand his only problem.

Yep, it's there for good

I can't even tell if I have tinnitus or not, how do you guys know it isn't just your imagination mixed with normal background ambiance?

based

stay in a completely quiet place and if you don't hear any vacuum cleaners you're good

Do any of you have tinnitus?
Can you imagine a constant ringing in the ears the never goes away? Least with modern sheep

>tfw my tinnitus is a low pulsating hum not an EEEEEEEEEEEE
could be worse I suppose

That's just the refrigerator.

No, his problem is that he cared in the first place. This means he had no goals in life that are bigger than not-hearing-the-hiss, nothing meaningful to work towards. He obsessed about it, stressed so much about it that it turned into something existential. This has more to do with neuroticism than anything else.

>low pulsating hum
that's ur heartbeat user

only a numale so󠀀yboy would kill themselves over tinnitus. weak

What helped relieve my tinnitus: neck flexibility exercises, better hydration, better sleep, less stress, no coffee, no alcohol, occupying myself with something. Now I still hear a distant waterfall all the time but it doesn't bother me. I don't let it come into focus all the time.

It's sad seeing you trivialize people's pain to this degree

im sure there was more going on than tinnitis, dont believe everything you read.

I don't believe you!!

These are all good suggestions. I also recommend seeing a chiropractor. Easing tension in your neck and back does wonders for the pressure in your head, consequently relieving tinnitus

Same happened to me. Idk why but it was really severe and last for like a month and I was already making plans to check out. I couldn't imagine living the rest of my life like that.

There should be a surgery to make yourself go deaf. Just turn the ear off entirely if it's that bad.

Damn, I didn't even know he was sick

nigga just sleep with a fan on lmao

can we stop mocking an actual dead human being

>how do you guys know
Because when it started happening, it was loud enough for it to be absolutely obvious to me something got fucked up. Long story short: If you're asking yourself whether you developed tinnitus, you don't have it. When/if it happens, you'll know.

All programmers have mental illness. Also all are coomers, trannies, or both.

That was the fucking gayest nut I have ever seen.

Supposedly one of the few things acupuncture actually works for is tinnitus

what was he listening to?

oloff - doing it stealthy

>There should be a surgery to make yourself go deaf. Just turn the ear off entirely if it's that bad.

There's a commonly passed around story about some guy with severe tinnitus who stabbed his own eardrums out of frustration to try and stop the ringing. He ended up deaf with nothing but the ringing audible to him for the rest of his life.

tinnitus isnt caused by listening to loud music, it's caused by microwave radiation from your WiFi and phone masts constantly stimulating the hearing part of your brain and sensitive constructs in the ear

everytime I see this thread I turn my volume down a little

Yeah I had it when I was sleeping with my phone on near my bed. When I turned it off the tinnitus went away basically.

Lol

I have tinnitus too but I'd sooner kill myself because I'm a 20 year old virgin instead

huh, I began having it right after "project blue beam"
just starting hearing it around 12am that January

what do you expect from 4chin...

>20
you have so much time you don't even know. All I can tell you is don't waste your 20s, it's your prime time and should be the best time of your life if you do it right. Just get to it and don't put off the things you need to do to get laid and enjoy life.

his family and friend(s) could be here

Is tinnitus just that little buzzing/static sound or is it a high pitched screech? If it's the former I have that shit and I just ignore it.
