Even just a year ago there was enough traffic to subvert shitposting. But with the userbase bottleneck as of late, no one genuinely interacts. real talk man why don't you just find somebody to do the vocals instead of you? are you doing the guitars? the instrumentals are great. if this is a satire thing then you are doing a good job but if you have aspy burgers or autism, then I should inform you that your vocals are not really working for this type of music bro! i don't think you usually sing on key or anything but you seem to play really well most of the time. anyway you seem pretty cool and even with the kooky vocals i have listened quite a few times at this point. cheers m8

Idk I like singing my own songs I know my voice isn’t ideal but like they’re personal or whatever like having someone else sing love songs I wrote for someone would be weird af
I tried watching YouTube tutorials I couldn’t even get the basics I feel like my musics better off with a talented drummer with experience

not the poster you replied to, but that makes sense, i feel the same way about vocals. it might sound like im being dum or something, but just look up "vocal exercises" on youtube, and do that shit everyday. you'll definitely improve. also, try to sing in a live band, because hearing your voice coming out of a monitor really helps you correct pitch issues and stuff.

well then you should have the vocalist write the lyrics. you play guitar well but if you want to sing you are gonna have to figure out how to sing on key and also not with a nasally couldn't-care-less type of voice. youtube tutorials might help like that guy said, who knows! singing is not my thing really

i get it, cuz a lot of them are pretty cheesy or annoying. you definitely should though. the improvement is slow, and sometimes hard to notice, but if you stick with it for at least a good year and listen back to your voice where you started compared to a year of exercises everyday, you'll definitely notice a lot of improvement. i def agree about singing your own songs though, cuz you probably have a better idea of what you wanna convey with your music than another singer.

also, i'm j a b o b o though, so if you don't like the vocals in my stuff don't take my advice, cuz ultimately it's about what you like in your music.

Yeah that’s definitely why I didn’t stick to it they seem cheesy and I only tried them for 5 minutes but like I’m ok with my voice not being perfect or x factorish or whatever. I’m not perfect so why should my music be? It’s an expression of myself. I listened to r stuff the other day and really liked it tho so good job

that's totally fair, at the end of the day there aren't rules to how music is done. it's just about expression, and imperfection can be pretty important in conveying things. conveying what you want to with your music is more important than meeting the conventions of a few Yea Forumsfolk.

the only thing left i would say is that practicing singing exercises will give you more options for vocals, and can maybe make you feel as though what you make is more deliberate, but that's more conceptual than concrete. like how picasso learned how to paint hyperrealistic scenes as an art student and then decided to emulate slightly more abstract/outsider-arty ways of depicting scenes.
