Top Albums of the 21st Century?

The Guardian polled a whole bunch of music journalists to come up with the top 100 albums of the 21st Century so far. What do you think?

theguardian.com/music/2019/sep/13/100-best-albums-of-the-21st-century

>What's missing?
>What shouldn't be there?
>What would you change?

For the sake of supporting the rejects who can't click links, here's the top ten:
> Frank Ocean - Blonde
> Beyonce - Beyonce
> Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am...
>The Streets - Original Pirate Material
> Dizzee Rascal - Boy In Da Corner
> LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver
> Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly
> Kanye West - MBDTF
> The Strokes - Is This It?
> Amy Winehouse - Back To Black

IMO, Sound of Silver properly deserves to be in the top 10, probably second or third place.

Also fuck The Strokes. Never got the hype, indie trash.

>music journalism anno 2019

sorry, your thread was gone from the start

>all that underwhelming mediocrity
Is this the worst century for popular music ever, lads?

Disregarding the fact that Deathconsciousness isn’t even on here, this is still an absolute dogshit list

>music “””””journalists””””” choose corporate music industry-tier poptimism
Who would have thought?

>Joanna Newsom getting recognition
hell yeah
>Kanye and Radiohead both have multiple releases on here
yeah okay i guess i expected it
>Grimes has multiple releases on here
LUL
>not a single Mountain Goats album
Sunset Tree or Tallahassee deserves to be on here
>no Jean Grae
bullshit

80s was the worst.

>no Death Grips

Yea Forums must condemn.

>>Joanna Newsom getting recognition
>related to influential liberal politician
Who would have expected that one?

>Hiphopoptimism, some overrated indie rock acts, and a dead woman.
Forget just making Scaruffi look good, this makes Christgau look good too.

>Beyonce
>TPAB
>MBDTF not Yeezus or TLOP

80’s was bad, but I think this is weaker.
Even the pop music in the 80’s was better. That’s why everyone is trying to recreate it nowadays

>thinking Gavin Newsom is left of center
American spotted

Anyone who claims the 80s were worse than now is out of their damn mind.

>81. Madvillain - Madvillainy
>78. Drake - Take Care
Madvillainy isn’t even that great but this is fucking terrible

Amy Winehouse probably deserves to be at the top thought, no?

I think while there was more shite in the 80s, the way charts and popular music works nowadays means it's way harder for good shit to rise to the mainstream. or maybe I'm just a fuckin mu hipster that hates all popuar shit.

I'd be happy with Amy, Kendrick, or D'Angelo at number 1 tbqhwyf

The top ten is really bad

What's your top 10?

Sorry, but it’s definitely true. The 80’s were making new sounds.

This is hacky shit that has been done already from the music industry trying to stay relevant

Proving once again that the UK and America are totally creatively bankrupt and just pretending to be relevant in today’s music scene

OK Yea Forums, what IS the greatest record of the 21st century?

Lift Yr. Skinny Fists

it's Back to Black by Amy Winehouse did you even fucking read the OP you dumbass

Another plebshit list, who gives a fuck.

Here's a few which should be on there:

Laurel Halo - Quarantine
Skinny Puppy - Weapon
Boards of Canada - Geogaddi
HEALTH - DEATH MAGIC

Terrible list but Jens Lekman getting recognized is nice.

yeah I never got The Strokes I must admit.

LEt's be honest: that's a thin lineup compared to any other decade

>Cold Vein higher than Memevillainy
based
garbage taste

Grant MacDonald - Ram Ranch

these "greatest" lists are so fucking stupid when music is so objective
these aren't the greatest
these are just the favorites of whatever mongoloid wrote the article
not gonna click

>objective
you mean the other one. Subversive.
