Metal is derivative of African music

Scarcely. It has some of the backbeat from amerimutt country music, but far less of the blues. It's more like straightforward punk infused with classical technicality.

not exactly. it is derivative of rock which is derivative of blues, an african-american style that is derivative of european music influenced by african elements.
Remember: no europeans, no guitar. no guitar, no blues.

There's absolutely nothing 'classical' or even technical about black metal. The majority of black metal is literally just tremolo picking dissonant minor chords (if even that). Look up the tab for a darkthrone or peste noire song and you will understand what I mean. Even the folk interludes aren't technical. This goes double for any of the 'classic' Norwegian bands.

Death in June

I was just responding wrt metal more broadly, as was mentioned in the specific post. Quite a few guitarists have taken influence. Even a few operatic singers around. I wouldn't disagree with you that BM tends to be quite stripped down, though. There's more of a punkish attitude in the sound itself, combined with some gothic/archaic imagery and lyrics. Naturally connects with stuff like folk or ambient. There is some "tech" BM around, but I'm not saying it's the rule.

Tiny Moving Parts and Stryper

Well, obviously neofolk. You don't have to like it, but digging through the genre (which is a task much bigger than it seems at first glance) you will inevitably find out very many relevant pro-europäan electro, metal, industrial, experimental, pop and whatever other music projects.

You want legitimate answers or kids posting 'neo-folk' or Christian classical music? Let's be serious for a minute.

All other stuff is most likely African 'European' music.
