nah i understand that there can be nuance, peoples experiences can lead them into thinking some fucked up things but it still makes them morally in the wrong. with the amount of influence Beck has it would unironically be the right thing to come out publicly against scientology despite personal losses for himself. try to mental gymnastics this however you want, Beck has said shit along the lines of "I've seen what scientology actually does. I've seen it change peoples lives" etc. that is really harmful to spread to impressionable people looking for answers in life who could end up wrapped up in all that shit themselves. if youre interested at just the beginning of this documentary this guy talks about how he ended up in scientology for years, really randomly too he just was always confused by life and suddenly these people seemed to have all the answers he was looking for. now he openly speaks out against it despite being a successful actor himself
