Literally the best main-stream pop album of 2019. It's the first good Ariana album, and yeah she puts a lot of emotion into Thank U Next.

i haven't liked any of his solo material, really. just not my thing at all. kinda standard deflation of interest in all of them after merriweather post pavilion, though i did like Tomboy a bit

Eh, most of the stuff I've listened to from this year has just bombed really hard. Vampire Weekend's new album, Ariana Grande, Lizzo, etc. Plus I've been listening to albums from previous years, so that's taking a bit out of it.

Also I can't tell your ratings of what I have, are you saying 100 Gecs is bad?

yeah, thats a bunch of minus signs in a row. i hated 100 gecs lmao. and yeah the albums you listed were not very good, though i thought ariana was okay. lizzo and vw are tooootal trash though

Not to come across as all defensive, but I get a lot of my recommendations from walking around my local Record Stores and taking genuine interest in Album Art/Producer Personnel/What's been newly pressed/Etc. And if you had looked closer at my chart you probably would have seen stuff you didn't recognize (Jozef Van Wissem, Christian Scott Adjuah, Mdou Moctar, Lawrence Arabia, Wand)

Although I do not recognize much from your chart there's much i dislike about it. Michael Pisaro's recent project is a snooze-fest and is by definition, RYM-Core. Also Saba Alizadeh is quite overrated Drone music and there's much much better music released from the middle-east this year, specifically the new Mdou Moctar and Tinarewan Records.

I haven't been on top of music as much this year but i've been enjoying these a lot. i'd appreciate some recs for lesser known stuff

I mostly tried to grab stuff from different genres for the OP chart, there's other albums that I have which are top of the year but I wanted a nice spread rather than the same genre repeated.
As for 100 gecs... eh, I know a lot of the criticisms for them, so I can't blame you for it
