Mother Road, Deranged for R&R, Highway, Be All Things are all exceptional tracks.

Nah, she's gone full woke to appeal to the bulk of her Fantano/P4K fanbase. Shame she still can't unwrite the history of her doing that Burzum cover. I'd ignore that if the new singles didn't suck much and her blatant lack of guitar ability forced her to retreat from metal back to folk.

A shame because Apokalypsis, Pain is Beauty and Hiss Spun were all very good albums (Abyss was a slight misstep imo) that showed her evolving.

Abyss is her clearly her best record. Hiss Shit is the obvious misstep and this newer album is even more of a regression.

Just finished listening to it, it's definitely better than Hiss Spun. That album, I felt was a regression as it traded a fair bit of Abyss' textures for louder guitars, plus the songs weren't quite as consistently good. Birth of Violence is an odd duck though, it's kinda like if The Grime And The Glow and Abyss had a baby, not definitively evocative of either record and yet very much of their cloth. I wasn't sure about the singles at first but they grew on me and I ended up digging this one on first listen. American Darkness, Erde and Preface to a Dream Play are probably my favorite tracks as of this writing.

I love chelsea wolfe but this album was a less memorable Unknown Rooms.

The response in this thread is really surprising to me because I think the record is great. I love all of her albums though

So far it's been my favorite, but then again I like her acoustic albums more than her rock ones, and this time the songs are recorded with decent mics and many of the lyrics are more mature and thought through.

Legitimately the worst opinion one could hold about her discography.

I thought Abyss was good and the most balanced of her albums in terms of what it presented. Her earlier albums have lots of filler material on them and they're somewhat aimless, and the songwriting wasn't as good.

Hiss Spun was well recorded and well put together, but it lacked dynamics despite having the best guitar tone.

I still miss the whole era around Unknown Rooms and Pain is Beauty where lots of string instruments were used. Her new album is a bit overdone in places, but the good songs are scaled back in arrangement.

Even on her more metal albums she still leaves room for at least one acoustic song, it's a persistent part of her work.

Chelsea Wolfe is one of the corniest people alive and her music is as shallow as a puddle of piss. I'd fuck her mouth any time though.

I always felt like I should be all over Chelsea Wolfe because she seems to ape a lot of different things i'm into but her idea of "dark" music is so fucking boring, sounds like something you'd hear in a Gears of War ad
