would you guys suggest me buying a moog grandmother as my first synth or is there something else at the price range that would recommend?

As long as you know it's monophonic and you know what that means, it seems like a good choice.

I'd recommend something a little more versatile, but you'll get some cool sounds out of this regardless.

A midi controller and a pirated vst like serum
Boom, saved you thousands of dollars

this, unless you record to analogue its gotta bypass through digital anyway

get a keystep, behringer model d and neutron for less than the price of the grandmother lol

i-is this the comfy synth thread?

Its monophonic so building pads and songs will be a slow process. Need to pair it with a DAW beyond doing arps with knob tweaking. Its sounds are more impressive than a neutron or model d.

lmao

it is pretty cool. If you don’t have a great midi controller, I would get that first. You can do so much with that. I would get one with 4 octaves minimum and emphasis on great playable keys. But if you like composing or playing on piano, just go full scale

Buy a minilogue if you're looking for your first synth. Great little learning tool. You could always sell it and upgrade to something better once you're familiar with how to make sounds.

No

It depends if you want to play synth or keyboard. If you want to do monophonic "phatness" and have some patch points to go full tranny later on it's an OK deal now that people are regret-selling them. Personally I'm poor so I'd go for a Behringer Model D and whatever cheap MIDI controller I could find.
If you're a keyboard player (ie. you can play more than one note, in time, concurrently) you should get a cheap 4-5 octave polysynth.
For example you can get a Roland SH-201 or Korg Poly 800 for under $500.

I just got the IK multimedia uno synth the other day. Used "just played around a bit" for 100$ with free shipping, I'm afraid I will be scammed or something but when it comes Will it be of any use? Or it's just a toy like volca?

an arp 2600 is also just a toy. no one cares how you spent $100

You obviously cared, you seething cunt

seems comfy..?

we finna boutta change dat up nawmsain

I think it sounds nice. It's really what you do with it. Just check youtube for demos on synthesizers. It's absolutely laughable what some of these people upload. I sometimes wonder if they even know they're shit.
