Would anyone be down for Krautrock October next month or Krautober? Can we make this happen? what would be more comfy than that?

I'd be down

cool

I have to go to my therapist now. Please keep this alive I know we can do it if we try

Why not, if or someone else is able to organize something like that.

However the real question in this thread is that where the sound is coming from in OP image?

what do you mean? You can't see sound so you would just assume it's coming from a speaker, probably that box underneath the record player in front of the musical note decals he has on the wall.

>can't see sound

Yeah not literally but music notes represent sound in comics. The box in the image doesn't look like it has a hole, compare the black shadow to the bed's shadow. Walls can't produce sounds and probably that turntable can't either.

>if or someone else is able to organize something like that.
yeah idk if i have the virtue to lead the charge so im trying to recruit some people. I am dling my own stock from the archives to get ready tho.

Just make krautrock generals in october and see if people are interested then. I doubt anyone in this thread will remember your project in two days lol.

>probably that turntable can't either.
maybe he can't afford an amp, but if you spin a record on a turntable it still makes sound, even with the amp turned off. I know cause ive done it with mine turning the sound all the way down.

ok but i dont just want a general I want to induce krautrock mania on the imageboard, we need to brainstorm memes.

don't have too high expectations. nobody enjoys forced memes.

nobody likes namefags either but it ain't stopping you

every month is krautrock month for me

guys lets assemble a 30 day chart for krauttober, maybe in the beginning we have some entry shit like can and neu and we move on to more obscure shit
and then on halloween we listen to bad moon rising because listening to anything else on halloween is against God

Perhaps. I haven't listened to krautrock in quite a while. Nor visited Yea Forums. How would it function?

i think this is a good idea

maybe like this

Yeah let's do it

Sounds fun, put some newer shit like Space Debris on the chart.

Ooh uh yeah we want real comiteche music tho not whatever that is

>be down for

Ya know
Like your mom on my cock

Alright lads, here are a couple albums I thought of. Let's focus on lesser-known albums that deserve more attention.

Attached: topsters2 (4).jpg (2521x1452, 77K)

I haven't seen hardly any discussion of pic related here, and it's not the most well-known krautrock release on RYM, which is unfortunate because it's really groovy and atmospheric. "German Oak" is basically a reflection on the chaos and darkness of WW2, with the whole thing having been literally recorded in an old war-time bunker.

Could we expand this to include a few albums that are krautrock in spirit? Gong is a French prog band but they've definitely got that experimental edge that defines a lot of krautrock.

Attached: Gong-You.jpg (820x820, 143K)

Could we do as suggested and start with some more basic stuff? Ege Bamyasi, Yeti, early Faust, etc.

These were based krautrock threads.

Sonds impossible to make happen, since the board is open to literally anyone, but sounds comfy enough as an idea I suppose.

Space Debris - Elephant Moon

Alright, I'll do them a descending order of obscurity. Hit me up with some more recs.

NEU! - self titled
Ash Ra Tempel - self titled
Cluster - Zuckerzeit
Message - From Books and Dreams

Neu!'s self titled
I'd replace Monster Movie with Tago Mago or Future Days
maybe some other Faust could go there too, such as Tapes
something by Cluster/Kluster
Tangerine Dream - Alpha Centauri or Zeit (the latter is less properly krautrock, more experimental electronic and ambient, which might interestingly diversify the listening)
Klaus Schulze - Irrlicht (same comment as above)
Ash Ra Tempel - self titled
Cosmic Jokers
Amon Düül - Psychedelic Underground
Walter Wegmüller
Amon Düül 2's "Made in Germany" is basically pop, long after they lost their original KR aesthetic, but IMO is really fun and might give an another interesting angle, how a kraut band became pop (Wolf City might be a similar pick, but closer to kraut)
Kraftwerk - self titled
Manuel Göttsching - Inventions for Electric Guitar and/or E2-E4
Harmonia - Musik von Harmonia
Agitation Free
Günter Schickert - Überfällig
If needed, we could add more stuff by the same important bands, there's no harm in multiple albums by Can, Amon Düül 2, Faust, Popol Vuh...

and personally I'd kick out the neo-kraut stuff, but I already suggested TD and KS (Berlin school), so I'll keep my mouth shut

Way ahead of you on that, user.

Alright lads, here's my first draft. I included a few modern krautrock albums at the end, and I also included the proto-krautrock album "Pärson Sound." It's technically not krautrock because it predates the era and was made by a Swedish band, but it definitely laid the groundwork for what was to come. It also sounds like it could be a krautrock album if it'd been released by West German kids in the early 70's.

For anyone who's not convinced:

Okay, here's a different draft with purely old stuff.

I vote for the second one

good list mate but I specifically said BMR, look i know its not krautrock by any stretch of the imagination but, its halloween I think we can stick it in there as a meme right?

Can you just do that on ur own time? We can talk about it but we ought to still have a kreatrock album for that day

I would be interested. I like the entry-level faust/can/neu and would like to know what else to listen to.

I'd be down for it. Sounds comfy.

Posting some quality electronic krautrock from 2015. Really good, interstellar music feels right out of a sci-fi epic.

how about we limit it to one album per band on the calendar, so we aren't just listening to the same bands every day? good chart, though.

god damn you've been posting this in every thread about krautrock for at least the last 3 years. I finally listened to it a couple weeks ago. It was alright.

good idea, we can also have multiple charts, some people will follow both or switch between them.

neo-kraut stuff shouldn't be in the charts but should be posted in the generals like this to give more to talk about.

just write a lil sticky and post a /krautober/ thread once a day. bam, it's a general.

We'd quickly be scraping the barrel for new stuff. There's just three (essential) bands with two albums, I really don't think that's too much.

>not kraut
>not rock
>not from 60s or 70s
>hurr space sound=krautrock
We might as well throw early Pink Floyd on the chart as well while we're at it

>quickly be scraping the barrel for new stuff. There's just three (essential) bands with two albums, I really don't think that's too much.
i don't think we'd be scraping the bottom of the barrel if we added 3 different albums. Honestly i think it's worth but I personally wanted to do this cause i wanted to get deepr in the genre. Ive loved the essentails for years already.

Well, that's why it was suggested to organise the chart in a way that would fit both those who are familiar and those unfamiliar with the genre. First you get a week of essentials and afterwards dig deeper and deeper.

Oh I was hoping people here were going to record krautrock songs and make a compilation

ok but we don't need multiples from the same bands, we could give recs each day though for people who enjoy that day and want to hear more from that band on their own.

we could do this too. the more activities we have the more fun the month will be.

peak autism

Great idea. I'll do this, even if there isn't a general every day for it (though it would be nice). Jamming to some Kollektiv now.

>School Night
Damn.
Would have had a pretty wicked childhood If I got into krautrock at such an early age.
Maybe some other lifetime...
