He (as well as Debussy.) inspired me to learn theory and delve deeper into Classical. He's a legend and he composed some really beautifully sad music. Not everything has to be super grandiose and dramatic to be good (although judging by how this board treats Russian composers poorly also) I'm well assessed that if it's not Baroque, it's not good by your logics.

that is not true, only some of his music was composed with that intent. this misconception comes largely from john cage. there is a depth to the music of satie and a relation to medieval church music that Ravel and Debussy owe a heavy debt to. He did not possess their craftsmanship or their virtuosity, which is why pianists sneer ("It's too easy!") but generations of composers have recognized his impact.
