I have: >Tele (Single Coils) >Les Paul (Humbucker in the bridge, P90 in the neck) >PRS CU24 (Humbuckers with coil split) >Jazzmaster (Single Coils) >Jazzmaster partcaster (Humbuckers) >Standard Acoustic
That means I'll need: >Semi hollow >7 string or baritone >guitar with a middle PU
Cooper Morgan
Bet that Charvel shreds nice
Joshua Roberts
>need You only need two humbuckers, six strings, and a floyd with a set of wooden blocks handy
Everything else is a meme
Andrew Parker
Haha and I did, deal with it
Not true
So does everybody but you mom
Les Paul, Tele, Acoustic, PJ bass, 5 str active j bass, broken classical. Am currently working on putting a humbucker on the Acoustic, a middle pickup on the Tele, and building a headless guitar for playing at work.

>if i have to give my money he'd better make a clown out of himself! the proles need their circus entertainment to feel better about their miserable lives i guess
Zachary Perry
This is the type of shit a guy who never leaves his bedroom would say
Ethan Morales
what the proles actually need is "classy" recordings so they don't have to take time off work and pay to see live music
>concerts? no man, i listen to music in my car >on the way to work >and on the way home from work >yeah i consider myself classy, i don't listen to stupid shit like guitar shredding
Henry Taylor
you say this but much of great classical music is just historical shredding composed with a bit of showing off in mind
You just reminded me that I still have nightmares of that dude wanting me to play shyly and behaved like a sideman while he paid me nothing and bashed me for it as a bonus
Robert Edwards
This. And Fred Durst and DJ Ashba prove it
Cameron Myers
lol he just exposed himself as a prole through projection
i bet he doesn't even own a gibson

Novelty matters and more than that, composers were musical swiss army knives, the composed according common practice conventions, performed and improvised according to them as well. Today rules and pleasing ways to write music have gone out the window.
Whatever helps you cope with being musically illiterate and uneducated.
Anthony Roberts
I'm flummoxed
Heh no need to tell us you're an idiot, that's uncomfortable

Music is not tablature. Tablature is just a map that points to a location on the guitar, Sheet music informs you of: the type of chord and inversion, the rhythm(more often than tab), allows you to analyze the chord progression, makes voice movement obvious, and opens the music up for interpretation because you can decide where to play a series of notes on the neck rather than being told. Tablature is for e-jiots.
Brody Butler
>he can't analyse music unless it's written down Yeah and rockists are brainlets >it tells you how to play each detail of the music >but it does open up for interpretation trust me
Zachary Davis
You sit there idly at your computer (or let's be real, more like on your phone), waiting eagerly for every one of my replies, this constitutes your whole morning. No value gained, nothing learned, just shitposting. Meanwhile, I conglomerate a mass of skills into my repertoire practicing diligently only taking a quick few breaks here and there and honing my techniques carefully and deliberately. You toil away over a simple glossing over of punctuation and frivolous nothings like sexual preferences while I become the master of my craft. There's one idiot in this thread, and it is you, my friend.
Strawmanning is always the last gasp. No one said it's the only way to analyze music, we were talking about Standard Notation vs Tablature.
Henry Collins
And that's a good thing. Every band needs someone on the road with them to relieve the pressure orally, and lord knows groupies aren't a thing anymore. Unless you hit it mega big. In the meantime the bassist will have to do
Isaac Gray
If you don't need to rely on sheet to analyze music then why do you count it? And just you turned this into a tab vs sheet argument. I said sheet is a snob's tab. I use neither.
You know you’ve won when jcope gives you ghost (You)’s. The little guy is too scared to reply

How do you learn music you haven't heard before? Music I have never heard in my life gets put in front of me by students all the time, I have to be able to analyze and interpret the material, the only efficient way to do that is through sheet music. There's an immediate, practical example.
Jacob Perez

Ever notice how guys with expensive guitars are usually shitty players and some kid with a cheap Ibanez can play circles around them?
Benjamin Roberts
Because they're afraid to pick them up and play them.

No but I notice poorfags find all kinds of ways to cope with not being able to afford a good guitar

Carson Walker
$350

i get the feeling this amp+speaker combo is too bright, based on youtubers' opinions but some commenters love the combo. i've never had a 1960 cab but have heard that they don't sound so bright and maybe that makes up for the brightness of marshall heads, whereas orange heads sound darker than marshall heads so the orange cabs help to make up for that, am i right bros?
that's all /gg/ is mane they either own deans or condors

I got my Behringer Super Fuzz in from amazon today. Anyone else use one? How do you like to set it?

Why does it matter? He didn't quit your mind so what difference would it make?

hey niggas I just got this 1970s japanese made SG copy guitar at a thrift store, anyone have any idea what its from and who the signatures on the back are from? it has an auction sticker on the back so it was auctioned at one point.
strat is the worst guitar. can not find any matching distortion or od, everything sounds ice picky except fuzz
Josiah Powell
ugh is that a veneer?
Anthony Cook
why care? It looks rad
Cooper Collins
You fucked up, if you weren't a poorfag you would have just bought the guitar online and returned it if it wasn't to your liking. You showed your empty hand and you got it slapped as a consequence. He gave you the online equivalent of a bitch slap for trying to waste his time.
Luis Clark
What store is this? Will make sure to never buy anything from those pricks.
Brandon Peterson
I need to know as well so I can do all my shopping there.
Where are they made now? I haven't kept up with strandberg but I remember they were supposed to be premium guitars, if they're asian imports it makes sense I guess. I see they have some models that are kind of affordable.

Not all of them dive, actual Gibsons are more balanced. Just try a few
Charles White
I'll go to a store to check some Gibbys out but I just wanted to see if people had anything in mind I wouldn't usually think of. A Gibson Tribute would be good but goddamn that satin puts me off.
Try and get a '61 re-issue if you can, they're usually 1 piece bodies and have the fastest neck. The satin isn't too bad but it will relic way faster than the full gloss
Aaron Martinez
Wish I could go for an American Strat were it not for that god awful vintage bridge.
Logan Peterson
You can always swap it out, easy mod
Kevin Watson
Very funny, you fucking faggots. Go buy this and post pics with timestamp
Ideally I would want to spend my 1500 and be close to 95% content with my guitar when I get it. I wish the Ibanez Prestige series didn't have so many ugly guitars or that awful trem system. Otherwise I would have probably been interested in them a lot more.
Joseph Sanders
Oh yeah and fuck the skinny Ibanez necks I hate that so much
Ryan Scott
do you need a trem?
Jason Nguyen
How you gonna shred though?
Joshua Jackson
No, the opposite in fact. I hate trems and I am super picky about getting a hardtail guitar. Preferably something ergonomic, otherwise I would have gone for a Gibson 2019 Explorer already.
Can where you practice affect how often and how well you practice? I recently moved from home to a dorm for college and I haven't been practicing near as enough as I used to back home, even though I have the time based on how I study. I used to have a whole room in the front of the house where my family kept all their music stuff: my trumpet from when I was a kid, our baby grand, and all my gear laid out. Now everything is stuffed underneath my lofted bed and I don't even have a chair to sit. I can't practice as freely since my roommate naps at the most inconvenient times, and his side of the room is a fucking mess. Is the way I am feeling and practicing right now normal?
Nathan Jones
anybody have any thoughts on ampeg guitar amps?
im trying to choose between am ampeg gvt52 and a peavey classic 50
same price, same speaker config, same wattage, roughly the same size
what im hearing is that the peavey is more in the vein of a fender style amp, while the ampeg is sort of in it's own vein, and sort of goes into a high gain modern sound when you really crank it. that appeals to me, but id like to get some input
Jayden Sullivan
Grabbed a cheap used CRATE FXT120 today to use as a portable practice amp for jamming with a neighbor and his drum set, I've been out of guitar/bass for a few years, but hadn't bought much in the way of accessories or amps in a few decades.
When/why did CRATE go out of business? I don't think they were every super high end, but they were always there for us poor teenagers who needed "good enough for now" on a $5/h McBudget,
Also, I dont recognize any of the cables guitar center had, I've had the same cables for decades. What are good brands now now for cables? Does it even matter anymore? I grabbed a "Live Wire' cable because it looked like the old CRATE ones I used to buy who have been so reliable for so long, but given the price, that seems unlikely.
And Last question; Clip on tuners, are they worth a shit on an electric, or even an electric bass? The guy at the store definitely thought so when I was looking at them.
Sorry, it was like walking back in to a world I used to know but is completely different now.
I feel like betraying guitar for Keyboard. At least for a while. Problem with guitar is that I never seem to practice it anymore. It's there. I see it. I kind of want to pick it up and practice but then I just don't. Might just buy a entry-level 150 quid Casio keyboard and mess around with it for a while, see if it gels with me. At worst I can just mess around with the sound effects on the keyboard for a quick laugh now and then like I did at school as a kid when the teacher stepped out of music class.

guitar cables are like other kinds of cables, they all functionally do the exact same thing, so the only consideration you have to make is for build quality. ive always been a fan of telephone style curly cables, because generally the only way something like that is gonna break is if you stomp all over it. all im gonna say beyond that is dont go on the SUPER cheap side of things and avoid fender cables
clip on tuners work as well as any other kind, the downside is that you have to change their batteries, whereas a pedal tuner is connected to an outlet. you also have to manually mute your guitar to tune if youre playing on stage, which isn't a downside for everyone but its something to think about
Carson Gutierrez
Have everything ready to go with no distractions. Same for recording/composing. That barrier of having to get everything ready is certainly real. Can you really not get a small comfortable chair in there? Otherwise stand with a strap.
Alexander Sullivan
Seam line?
Jayden Lee
I kinda figured as much with the cables, the durability thing is basically what i was concerned about. Not a lot of abuse these days, rolled over by a chair on a real bad day.
The tuners I always had before weren't pedals, but they had an input, which meant unplugging from the amp, plugging in to the tuner, setting it somewhere you could see it and tuning. The last clip on style tuner worked on my acoustic, but wouldn't even register my electric, so i was kind of surprised he was pushing it so hard.
Fuck it, I am a semi-regular in /gg/ so this time only I am shilling my first album just out on Spotify as of midnight UK. You may know me as fatass, lardass, broken wrist Martin guy or perhaps even fat fuck!
I'm just reminding you that it's trash and you play trash

Couldnt possibly be an envious peasant could it.
Grayson Russell
The same people that get butthurt over plastic switch buttons.
Michael Cox
Based on all the replies the correct evaluation is they're being douches. You need to be able hear what a guitar sounds like before you buy it.
Robert Sanders
“I don’t care. Shop elsewhere” is a really fucking rude response, guy should get the sack for that.

My sg has slight neckdive so I just stuck weights in it, it helped a lot

I'm sorry Try to remember that's either this or kys'ing, works for me
Alexander Jones
Play your guitar as if it is a keyboard like I do. Seriously though, there's only a handful of things you can't do on guitar that can be done on a keyboard, it's just the skill threshold required to maximize the guitar is way higher when compared to a similar sounding piano piece.
I use d’addario humidipaks, expensive but lazy option.
Ryan Sanchez
Wouldn't you want silica
Thomas Nelson
Yeah Cordoba has a Humicase and Humicase I believe is their own brand.
Brody Peterson
>Play your guitar as if it is a keyboard like I do. So, you play djent?
Jaxson Edwards
How the hell do you drop tune without having your strings so slack? I already play decently heavy strings and even in D standard they feel sloppy as hell.
I guess thats the same parts as an original just mfg'd in Korea. Does it go out of tune or some shit? I can beat on my original floyd and it springs back to tune
Isaiah Jones
Holds tune fine. I just realized that I'm not a trem type guy.
