I agree. She very strongly marketed herself as a sex symbol in the early 00s which kind of got undone in a hurry by her weight gain. Back To Basics was a huge step in the right direction, great production and songwriting. It was a pretty mature album, really well made. Similar to what Justin Timberlake was doing. Unfortunately, she then decided to bandwagon every cheap music fad to come along.

Mariah, Britney and Stevie Nicks maintained careers with weight fluctuations.
