The Furnaces of Palingenesia
and that's it.
Looking forward to the new Teitanblood.
metal was boring as fuck this year
You didn't post any Metal albums OP
Arch/Matheos - Winter Ethereal
Possessed - Revelations of Oblivion
!T.O.O.H.! - Komouš
Vultures Vengeance - The Knightlore
Not enough grindcore for you?
Very retarded post.
I'm really into metal myself *ops chart*
no all the metal this year is trying to do the prog thing like a lot of other metal bands this decade but this time its so stripped back and dull and lifeless i cant even bring myself to pay attention to it. just sounds like stuff thats already been done but worse. life metal was cool though i guess
Now that's some tourist taste
I just like doom metal.
Ironic.
pic related and DsO, i guess. metal suck shit this year
>posts the height of touristcore
>woodland rites
Noiceee first time I saw someone talk about it on here
Green Lung is the shit.
these, and honorable mention to the Undeath demo, which is one of the best slabs of death metal I've heard in a while. Too bad their LP didn't impress me as much.
I'm not sure Elder are even metal anymore but this was fucking great
DEVOURMENT - OBSCENE MAJESTY
DEVOURMENT - OBSCENE MAJESTY
DEVOURMENT - OBSCENE MAJESTY
DEVOURMENT - OBSCENE MAJESTY
yes, they're all massive bands but keep in mind when I was 13/14 years old, the first metal I heard was stuff that was more easy to find.
sure as time goes on you can deep dive subgenres and scenes, but if I had to save 4 albums it would be these because these ones had the good fortune of being some of the first I heard, and the memory of hearing them for the first time and having that pure rush imprinted in my memory make them some of the most enjoyable albums to return to.
Also all of the bands got big and become critically acclaimed because they were actually good, at least for some of their careers.
Dimmu peaked with their Nick Baxter/Mustis/ICS Vortex line-up, Metallica peaked with their first 3 albums, Pantera peaked from CFH to the day they broke up and ceased to be a band, and LoG are still going strong but of course I'm going to prefer their discography from Burn the Priest to Sacrament, cause that's what I had as a teenager.
oh fuck I didn't see 2019 lmao.
I haven't bought any metal this year I don't main it anymore
lemme try again.
here's 2 2019 releases I've bought
I know for some reason people seem to not be liking it around here but I haven’t been able to stop playing the new tomb mold album honestly.
I like the previous one better but it's still great yeah. These guys have been pretty consistent so far.
also, not metal in the strictest sense, but since I'm clutching at straws, here's a third.
>yes, they're all massive bands but keep in mind when I was 13/14 years old, the first metal I heard was stuff that was more easy to find.
Holy shit, metalheads really are obsessed with le t.ourist meme
ignore that whole textwall I misread OP anyway, my corrected posts:
>fucking Demon Burger
I'm not judging by the way, I did like Enthrone Darkness Triumphant when I was 14
Suhnopfer's album
Riot City's Burn the Night
Sinmara's album
Vehemence's album
the problem is, Shagrath could never accept that he wasn't one of the trve kvlt OGs. until they brought Mustis on board they constantly tried to front as a genuine norwegian black metal band, but they only really got good when they owned their shit and became a leading example of symphonic BM.
that's not to say their pre-Mustis releases were shit, there's some fantastic tracks (the intro on Mourning Palace is ace), but it just wasn't anything exceptional in the scene.
