Confess Yea Forums
Here is my confession:
>I started unironically listening to Limp Bizkit again
Confess Yea Forums
Counting Crows are in frequent rotation for me. Based songwriting desu
Ive never heard a radiohead album in full, but constantly talk shit about them and call them overrated
Blur is overall more interesting than Gorillaz, and the Gorillaz concept doesn't actually make sense in the music itself
Hours isn't a bad Bowie album, it has 3 of his best songs on it. Buddha however is boring outside of Untitled No. 1
I get a kick out of prog trance
I think this is the most early 00s sounding song ever
youtube.com
Am I right?
I think Siouxsie & The Banshees are simultaneously one of the most important and underrated bands of all time.
It embodies that time frame in music pretty well, that's for sure
I unironically listen to Ken Ashcorp
I like Ringo's solo work the most.
If someone on this board recommends me an album and I don't like the artwork, I won't listen to it.
I haven't listened to a lot of Yea Forumscore because of this.
I do too...
>tfw 20 percent cooler comes on my Ipod shuffle
I'm going through a really rough time right now and for the last few nights I've listened to Crywank, drank and cried myself to sleep.
I actually like Days n Daze and Rail Yard Ghosts.
I unironically enjoy a few of Nicki Minaj's songs. Beez in the trap, Chun Li, High School, Roman's Revenge come to mind.
i've never listened to any Yea Forumscore album except the velvet underground & nico (and i listened to that before i browsed Yea Forums). which Yea Forumscore should i bother with, if any? i don't like prog so fuck off with the king crimson
>itaots
I know its a big meme and whatnot, but its really good. Youre doing yourself a disservice not hearing it at least once.
I’m in love with user
i heard like one song off it before i went on Yea Forums and thought, "wow, this is pretty boring and generic" but maybe i'll listen to it
yea its basic as far as insturments, but theres just something special in the lyrics and Jeffs singing is bad/good in a Bob Dylan kinda way. You can really feel his emotions too.
U2 are great, and Zooropa is better than The Joshua Tree
isn't it about banging anne frank
Its more about some poor little jewish girl getting yeeted by Drumpf tards but more or less yes he wants to fuck her
sounds retarded
no not really thats just memes. while it is mostly about her its more about how he felt sorry for her and wishes he could have saved her from her suffering.
I listen to somewhat repetitive Korean metal and punk shit constantly. No reason for me to.
see i'll still probably try it eventually though
yea Im not saying its high art or anything, but its worth one listen at the least
I have a lot to confess:
Spice Girls are probably my favorite of the 90s girl groups
I unironically love Lisa Loeb
I also unironically love Kenny G
Mariah Carey is probably my favorite singer
I prefer early 60s Beatles over late 60s Beatles (I love both though)
I like brazilian funk carioca and reggaeton
I also like a lot of nu-metal
I've started to unironically like top 40 normie shit cause my gf wants to listen to it all the time
you have to kill your girlfriend to preserve your musical tastes
I can't stand any new indie bands, they all just miss the little details that make the original wave of bands from the 80's and 90's so special. They also usually have horrible production as well, either it's overproduced and clear or poorly done lo-fi where it adds nothing to the music. I feel like such an asshole when my more hip friends try and play me their indie stuff and I don't like it because it just sounds like Wire or This Heat but with all the emotion and life sucked out of it
Some shitty meaning behind some shitty lyrics doesn't make the music itself much worse
But she gives me sex user
I genuinely enjoy emo rap
I'm not embarrassed of most of these opinions, but they aren't anything I would normally post due to stigma
>Gwen Stefani and Fegie are unironically two of the greatest pop stars of all time
>2000's R&B was the best era of the genre and soul music in general, and Usher should be considered on the same level with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye
>while Colplday is in fact a bad band, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends and Ghost Stories are both classics that would have been adored by everyone if they weren't attached to that shitty name
>King of Limbs is the best Radiohead album
>foreign rap (whether it be in English or not) is almost always infinitely better than American and British rap; if we were only talking about the latter two countries, then rap would indeed be crap
I've never listened to any Neutral Milk Hotel except Holland,1945, which I only heard once and thought was shit.
(This is me)
Correction:
>Spice Girls are probably my favorite of the 90s girl groups
It's actually En Vogue, but Spice Girls are a very, very close 2nd place
Fergie has some good songs
I think Gwen Stefani was better in No Doubt
Usher had some good songs and Timbaland and The Neptunes were great producers who helped to define the era but I still think an overwhelming amount of R&B at that time while good just didn't quite have as strong of a groove as records made pre-1998. I find this to be true for hip hop as well.
I took the time to listen to the abomination of sound. The whole album is one of the worst ever made.
haven't heard them yet
Listen to OKC or Hail
This is correct
So is this
bait
based
I would suggest Sweet Trip- v:d:c as the most accessible and universally liked /mu core record.
Based. You probably already know Boris but if you don't go listen to them.
Reggaeton is pretty based. Agree to disagree about the rest
NOOOOO
I feel the same way, it's really hard to put into words what separates a facsimile from the real thing, but everybody with taste can tell immediately.
I never liked Ghost Stories or TKOL but otherwise yeah.
Holy Trips
I fucking love bones
nirvana is one of my favorite bands. they got me into music and they're like my beatles.
I WANT TO LICK PRIME GWEN STEFANI'S NAVEL
I don't think Coldplay are a good band at all, they really are basically just worse Radiohead, but Viva la Vida specifically is magical. I even made a music video of it using Total War games when I was 15 youtube.com
I like Noctourniquet.
I enjoy GWAR
you are disgusting
Jesus me too. Id drag my nuts through a mile of glass just to hear her fart through a telephone.
Gif related is how I first learned to masturebate.
Based
Limp Bizkit are fucking sweet though
hope thats not actually you. you look like a cunt and have a cringe channel description.
>im not trying to infringe any copyrights
Oh ok we wont take your vids down, you didnt mean too. We cool.
I stan Lil Nas X cuz it's nice to see a real friendly bi (?) guy in mainstream hip hop
Probably more than half of his appeal comes from sharing my sexuality but like w/e man he a qt
Hope you feel better soon, user.
I've been skipping the gym and listening to depressing albums from my past like Deathconsciousness and Illinois while playing WoW Classic in a dark room for the past two days.
>actual nigger faggot
I unironically think liking Ariel Pink makes me cooler than 99% of the people that I walk past on the street.
>I stan Lil Nas X cuz it's nice to see a real friendly bi (?) guy in mainstream hip hop
why not Frank Ocean? his music is actually worth stanning
I leveled a hunter to 30 in the first week just to give away all my gold and uninstall. The game is a trap, it steals every ounce of personality from you and turns you into a fucking zombie that stares blankly at the computer screen.
Ima say thats the majority of people desu
I last updated the description like 7+ years ago
Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish--both of them *chef kiss*
Based
LIMP BIZKIT STYLE
I have listened to nothing but The Black Parade for the past 2 weeks. I don't even know why I just woke up with the urge to listen to it and I can't stop. It feels like I'm back in 06
I tried to listen to Bach's music but it was so bad, I had to stop.
yikes
idk Lil Nas X is funnier I guess
Frank Ocean is good I just never saw him as super above other acts like Blood Orange, Kelela, FKA Twigs, etc. Lil Nas X is just a meme I don't have to take him super seriously and can be more like "ay that's my gay nigga" know what I mean?
>he likes FKA more than Ocean
I listen to a lot of Enya, but I have never told anyone I do because I am so afraid that if I tell them they will point at me and say,"YOU ARE A FUCKING FAGGOT"
FUCK HEROIN
don't sweat it, i did the same
you probably just heard the surface level boring shit like kid a and ok computer, listen to in rainbows
>>he probably just listened to king of carrot flowers part 1
ditch sex, to post on you have to be a virgin
cringe trips
he's based, i don't see a problem
this is also just based
I have been listening to Chvrches almost exlusively this past few weeks
I mean, it's just my opinion? Frank Ocean mostly sounds like radio-friendly poppy R&B with a lot more artistic merit and better songwriting than your run-of-the-mill stuff. FKA Twigs has this really interesting slightly lo-fi ethereal quality to it. It's just more evocative to me.
I listen to both Lorde albums at least a few times a week, and have been doing so for the past few years. A few months ago I was hanging out with a friend and he asked me what kind of music I listen to these days, and I said completely unironically, "Mostly Lorde." He and the other person in the room started laughing as if I had just made an amazing joke and I decided to just leave it at that.
let me guess, you only listened to Channel Orange, right?
>In Rainbows
literally their worst
listen to King of Limbs
>>pablo honey
>>king of limbs
>>moon shaped pool
>>ALL BETTER THAN IN RAINBOWS
Well, that and Blonde obviously. What, do you have another rec for me?
Only Yea Forumscore I like is Death Consciousness and Animal Collective.
yes, unironically. did I stutter?
so you actually think that Blond is radio-friendly poppy R&B?
genuine rec, listen to Endless as well
been listening to a lot of Nick Drake recently and been feeling absolutely terrible, i find myself sympathizing with him more than i should be. it sucks because i usually see myself as a stable normal happy person but i've cried multiple times a day for the past week straight. i feel like i'm in a hole i can't get out of for the next couple years because i just started college and got a job in tandem and i have no days off. a friend asked me to go with him to a record store and i told him no, i work from 12:30 to 9. i wish i had my old life back.
uhh shit, i guess i also heard Throbbing Gristle recently and didn't like them nearly as much as i thought i would, kinda lame overall but theyve got a few good tunes
I’ve never listened to Bjork outside of her voice on Niggas On The Moon.
I buy a 16oz beer and a few Jim Beam nips every so often and walk 100ft from the liquor store to this park bench somewhat shrouded by trees and shadow (at night) and drink in public.
I’m considering getting a Glowing Man tattoo, probably the album logo (but in solid black) or the words ‘Cloud of Forgetting’ somewhere. I also unironically want to get a Mac Miller tattoo. Not his face or anything but something from one of his songs.
Recently I snorted some Adderall with my friends and I walked around my house where my parents live with blue Adderall snot on my sleeves. They probably know.
tattoo "mac milar" in comic sans on your shoulder
>so you actually think that Blond is radio-friendly poppy R&B?
I mean, essentially. The production is essentially flawless, and I don't necessarily mean that as a compliment. He experiments a lot with song form, unique samples, and sketches, but this isn't really anything different than what any other big hip-hop/R&B artist has been doing for the past 10 years.
>genuine rec, listen to Endless as well
Fine, I'll do so now. It's been on my list for a while anyways. Be back to you in a few.
find the energy to spend that little extra money you have, have a good time. it wont be easy w all the work but itll be worth it
make friends at school
write, make music, do something.
im right there with u, finding the energy to keep doing cool shit is key
>I’m considering getting a Glowing Man tattoo, probably the album logo (but in solid black) or the words ‘Cloud of Forgetting’ somewhere.
I would dig it. I have one album-art tattoo, and quite a few others planned. I remember some user starting a thread about this topic a few months back, with one of the first responses being basically "just wait a while, it's too new." Know where exactly you want it yet?
thanks user, i really appreciate you saying that. been thinking of writing music or something to that effect soon
If all your bills aren't going towards education, please do put some towards instruments and production equipment. I'm a recent graduate myself and I've spent $1000+ on music equipment since and it's sooooo nice finally being able to produce stuff that finally sounds good after working with Garageband-level shit for so many damn years
Not sure yet. Maybe under my ribs on one side.
I hated Radiohead before I actually started listening to them, too. Don't know why.
I have fallen out of the indeh rawk loop.
When I was a teenager, I knew about all the tiny buzzbands but now that I'm older, I don't know what's what. Watching all my favorite bands get popular is a really gratifying feeling, though.
I see why insufferable douchebags always say, "I knew about them before they were popular." I get it now.
Im scared of nonwhites
leave this board holy fuck
I refuse to make music using anything other than Caustic on a cheapshit Android phone.
And even then, I refuse to pay for Caustic. I only use the free trial.
still cringe. id change it
user, you’re me except i have no friends
don’t change it it’s funny because it’s terrible
Just finished listening to Endless. Initial thoughts:
Now the production here isn't what I would call super radio friendly, as opposed to Channel Orange or Blonde. The vocals don't stand out in the mix nearly as much, and the more excessive use of reverb is much more conducive to Frank's very downtempo, smooth jazzy-like vocals and instruments.
"Rushes To" really caught my ear, admittedly some of the best production of modern hip-hop hi-hats I've heard.
"Mitsubishi Sony" is also a really fucking cool closer, actually might be my new Frank Ocean track.
Overall, on first listen I already feel like this is much better than Channel Orange or Blonde. I find it a little ironic that the tracks I like the most are the mostly instrumental ones that use these distorted synths and guitars, when Frank is mostly known for his ambience and smooth vocals. I kinda wouldn't mind if he went like, way harder on whatever he's working on next.
>my new Frank Ocean track.
**my new favorite Frank Ocean track
Father I would like to confess:
>I have started to listen to The 1975 and I enjoy it a lot
I still love and listen to Nirvana
Genie in a Bottle is one of the best pop songs of all time
Can't Touch This by MC Hammer is a great song
I like Madonna more than Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce
I think DSOTM is a 10/10 album
I like Rubber Soul more than Revolver
I'm an autist who likes music and beats mostly, so I'm literally shit at lyrics unless I study them. Only lyrics I know: Thuggish Ruggish Bone, Baba O'Reilly, Knockin on Heaven's Door
bump
I can't stand rappers like Kendrick, Kanye, those Odd Future guys, and whoever else Yea Forums talks about all the time; I've never given any of their music a real chance but I still hate it.
i cant help but like the amazing jeckel brother by icp
it's very catchy and well put together/produced. the song with a narrative/story are very entertaining from beginning to end (mad professor, i want my shit etc)
>never listened
>hate it
I still like early U2 and early Coldplay.
I shit on rock in rock threads, and shit on hip hop on hip hop threads, don't have really have problem with both.
I also used to shit on Frank Ocean all the time without listening to his music. Then I listened to him and just found it boring, don't shit on him anymore though.
Limp Bizkit can be pretty fun at times.
>2000's R&B was the best era of the genre and soul music in general
Somewhat agree in the sense that people always talk about how 2000's R&B is shit but there are some great things. The main problem was, as in hip hop, bloated albums and filler songs.
>Usher should be considered on the same level with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye
No way man lmao
>Genie in a Bottle is one of the best pop songs of all time
Hell yeah, love that one.
>I like Madonna more than Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce
That's should be the standard. Madonna can be fun and has some great pop songs. Beyonce, Carey and Houston are all boring, lame pop R&B stars.
>Genie in a Bottle
>Madonna
My niggaaaaaaa
I truly and firmly believe that Oingo Boingo is one of the greatest bands ever
Up until last month I would constantly shit on popular indie albums while secretly enjoying them. VUN is a 4 star but I constantly downplayed it.
Earl Sweatshirt is cool
soundcloud.com
Not saying this is like revolutionary ‘ah man you HAVE to like this’ but I think it’s good
im into most music, i love prog, black metal, electro.....but of all the genres i love, the most embarrassing is Eurodance and 90's dance music in general. the songs are dumb and cheesy but the sounds r nice
Did you just see movie... the fanatic?
shitsurei, kamimashita
I'll check Boris out. Right now my favorite albums are Gonguri's 2014 ep and Goatfuk Havoc Slaughter Hell by Huqueymsaw.
I really enjoy their writing as well! Round Here and A Long December are a couple of faves.
I unironically like Creed
wtf, I just meant to post that
