Nah, while the record's got a decent amount of variety for like noise rock/no wave type music, there are other albums where each track has a more different identity to it which I think end up having more of that typical AOTD appeal to them.
Why do people still do this? Daughters sounds nothing like either of these groups. Very different riffing styles, with really the only close similarity being that Alexis' vocals occasionally, sometimes sound like Yow's.
This is pretty true. Albums like MBDTF or TPAB are accessible while having attention to sonic/lyrical detail, songs with their own unique identity to offer variety while still having the songs connect through some kinda narrative/theme. Typical AOTD bait.
Can't exactly determine this from one listen though because you wouldn't know what you're missing on the second one.
