How does it make you feel?

A bit of a pain in the arse as an amateur musician. I can have professional looking sealed jewel case CDs produced for £2 a unit ordering 50 and sell them at gigs for £8 - £10 easy, vinyl on the other hand costs a fucking fortune in small quantities. I have seen some people do it but I seriously doubt they are not making a loss.

Feels bad. I still collect CD and only some vinyl/cassette. I honestly find it hard to believe that CDs are being outside actually.

fuck compact tape media forever. want to bring back reel to reel? fine, i get it in a very hipsterish kinda way but 8 tracks/compact cassettes are pure garbage for the worst kind of nostalgiafags

Indifferent, maybe even a little happy. I enjoy both mediums but its nice to see records selling.

I still collect CD's I own every nine inch nails CD and buy all new nine inch nails releases on CD.

I kind of like the sound of tape hiss buried in the background.

Young people are doting on the 2000s nowadays. I bet CDs are gonna have a nostalgic renaissance before they even stop making em.

I still keep some motley crue and skid row cassettes in my car since my car has both a CD and cassettes player.

The thing about CDs is that when mastered well the sound quality of CDs is really fucking good, far better than vinyl in my opinion.

Well people probably are starting to want actual physical media in their hands it's why people buy CD's and vinyl records.

The big issue is the record labels are not signing the right type of Rock bands and they keep signing rappers singing about butts and asses.

Yes I still got a 8 track player since I was able to buy stacks of old Aerosmith,beach boys and Alice cooper 8 tracks at a flea market for cheap.

They sound awful though.

If you have a modern picture disc on a new record player with new needle they sound great I have a Marilyn Manson tourniquet picture disc from hot topic that has CD quality sound and mastering.

No I've never had to wind up a 8 track but I've done it in the past with cassete tapes using a pencil.

I still think new music should be released as CD,record and cassette.

We need the three formats.

the vintage ones were crap sounding yes. I have a bunch of old Iron Maiden look cool but sound horrid

I'm happy that vinyl gets the love that it deserves, I only get the CD if I can't buy it on vinyl like Nujabes stuff.

The iron maiden ones from the 80's we're not good quality pressings but looked cool like the bring your daughter to the slaughter one.

The late to mid 90's Marilyn Manson picture disc have CD sound quality but they are singles with two songs on each side so they can be mastered at better quality.

its a bit more of an asspain than a cassette tape, the ribbon is one single piece that comes out of the center and is spooled around the outside
I dont have fond memories of them
