Recommend punk albums:
my favourite sex pistols song is bodies
youtube.com
2nd favourite is god save the queen and 3rd is no fun
I did not like the Sex Pistols the first few times I heard them. Then I saw a special about how they made the album, where songs were given a perspective, and the rest clicked. Has any band made a good cover of their songs?
i quite like motley crues covers of their songs.
For me it's
1. Holidays in the Sun
2. Bodies
3. Pretty Vacant
From pic related it's
1. The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle
2. Silly Thing
3. Friggin' in the Riggin'
How do the songs in the Swindle compare to the Bollocks?
all of those are really good, definitely like them. in fact i like all of their songs so yeah.
i want to get peoples opinion on this.
do any of you think green day is punk rock? or punk at all
cause i've heard them being called all of these:
pop punk
punk rock
alternative rock
there doesent seen to be any agreement on whether they are any of these.
If I would've made a album of it, I would include the three I mentioned, Who Killed Bambi?, Lonely Boy, Einmal War Belson Wirflich Bortrefflich, No One Is Innocent, My Way, C'mon Everybody and You Need Hands. I think these stand proudly side by side with anything on Bollocks
my way is for sure my favourite great rock 'n roll swindle song and my favourite sid vicious song
I like their '90s albums. They are more pop punk than anything.
my favourite album is american idiot, but i enjoy the rest of my albums aswell. if i had to rank say 6 of their albums from best to least best i'd rank them
1. american idiot
2. dookie
3. kerplunk!
4. 21st century breakdown
5. nimrod
6. revolution radio
i havent gotten round to listening to 1000 hours, warning and shenanigans yet.
I would say they're pop punk. We had something similar in Sweden in the 90s

Even though you don't understand the lyrics the melodies are fucking excellent

Warning is not as bad as people made it out be in the '00s.
How come Sweden has a more active punk scene than Denmark, Norway, and Finland?
yeah i doubt most of the people who say warning is bad have listened to more than half of the songs.
gonna dump a bunch of green day songs
redundant

No idea. Sweden traditionally has had a more active music scene than Denmark and Norway in general and Finland is a Metal country.
we cant let this thread die
you fuckers have no taste in punk
based, there wasn't any punk band quite like crass
drinking and listening to Dillinger four alone on a Saturday night lads
At least not one that could start an international incident with a fake.
It's too bad johnny rotten never took any pictures of his green hair in the 70's that woulda been badass to see.
I listen to horror punk because it panders to my tastes and does not complicate itself with lame politics 24 7 or self fellating scene pride, and is fun, but also not gay and whiney+normalfag like pop punk

What is some good foreign horror punk besides Balzac?
What is the difference between horror punk and deathrock?
Dunno
Deathrock I think leans closer to goth rock while Horror Punk tends to lean closer to original punk rock, usually very Misfits/Ramonesy with the woah ohs and maybe even some very mild rockabilly undertones
How do you feel about Psychobilly?
I enjoy some Psychobilly very much, fun retarded shit, good drinking music

Do you like some Oi?
Not really anything I can name off the top of my head, I'm much more of a hard rock and heavy metal guy and just dip my toes in some punk shit....but the genres related to punk I most fuck with is old school basic style shit shit, Horror Punk, Psychobilly...favorite bands are Misfits, Ramones, and The Adicts. Everything else I like after that is kind of random...I like TSOL, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag all on some level....always had a soft spot for AFI as far as more modern bands, and like some more metal/hardcore crossover shit like Suicidal Tendencies and D.R.I but not too much of that stuff.

Do you like some gothic rock?
Oddly enough I've never took the plunge into it, I've checked out stuff like Christian Death and Alien Sex Fiend in the past but it never "stuck" and I never really got deep into it beyond that to keep checking out more stuff and it's still a style that's kind of on my bucket list....the "goth" stuff I did get more into was like industrial shit like Skinny Puppy and I don't even know how "goth" that's considered to people really into that subculture
Megadeth’s version of Anarchy is OK, but that’s just because the song is okay, I like Megadesu’s more than Sock’s Pistol
I don't like a single cover Megadeth ever did
